In years of college, do guys not want to have a relationship?

i want to know what goes on in the mind of a college guy.

does he want to get laid?

does he want to date as many girls as he can?

does he want to focus on school as his priority and flirt with girls on the side?

do guys have this thing where they want to pile up as many girls as they can having some type of fling, hookup or unofficial thing with?

basically, what is the general philosophy behind love and dating in a man's mind from ages 18 to 22 or even further if he's in grad school?

It's not just the college years, and it doesn't stop at 22. 99% of guys from their teens to age 25 don't want a relationship, they only want sex, so they'll get together with tons of girls (call some of them their girlfriend but watch how fast they dump them for another girl who is more openly sexual).

Many guys don't grow up for quite a while, and some never do. I'm in that 1% who wants a meaningful relationship and I never get a girl that I want (I ask out, they either aren't interested or are with a guy who is just using them to get off).

If you're looking for a guy who wants a meaningful relationship (and I'm saying this from experience) keep an eye out for the guys who seem to be "outcasts", like they're always sitting alone, don't talk much, maybe even don't smile much.

But be prepared to work for it, I personally don't trust easily because I've been betrayed and lead on many times in the past and the other good guys probably have been too.

So to answer your questions, speaking for that 99%, yes, yes, no, yes.

relationships...yes. Frat Guys= no relationships. It truly depends. But in college girls are different. they don't play silly games like they did in hs. If they did play these games in college, you'll just get used and abused by jerkoffs. true story.

I personally would like a relationship, but girls my age 18-22 are more interested in joining sororities and chilling with wimpy frat rats. It's like a status thing in college. Then guys realize its time to settle down. Some do, some don't.

Basically every question you have under this main question is correct. This all depends on the type of guy in college. Each question you asked deals with a certain type of guy.

It's truly a mixed bag, its all about where you hang out and who you hang out with in college to really tell what takes priority.

if you get to know him and he seems like a guy of integrity and moral, he won't be one who wil just be looking to just get laid, well then, he 's a good guy but if he doesn't live up to that and seems like the type who just wants to get laid, then move on and find someone else better.

I'm not a man, but I know a few. Most of the guys I know were either in relationships all through college or were always looking for women to be in relationships with. When they weren't in relationships or hadn't found the right girl to be in a relationship with, then they were looking for just sex and hook ups. They always distinguished the two though, and treated girls they wanted relationships with differently.

There are tons and tons of guys out there who just want sex. There are also some guys that actually want a relationship, they're just harder to find. Intelligence will also change their view on sex: usually the less intelligent guys will only want sex and not care about their schoolwork while the smart guys will want to succeed and find someone special. Personally I don't like the idea of flings/hookups because it's just stupid. I'm looking for a relationship but it seems like none of the girls are mature enough yet to see that hooking up with some random dude every weekend won't make them happy. It's different for every guy, so you should try to find someone who shares your views on dating/relationships/sex and who will make you happy.

I'm in grad school and I was in a relationship for 2.5 years while in college. Yeah, knowing that it didn't work out I wish I could go back and be single, mostly because after we broke up I met a girl I wish I had been with all along. In my case, I was very happy having a girlfriend and while together wouldn't have changed that for the world. I guess it all depends on the guy. However, once you get out of college and into grad school things change drastically and most people want a relationship especially if they weren't in one in college. Some guys like to have a lot of girls, in my opinion many times this is because they are insecure and scared to be with just one, but other guys are relationship guys. Any of the scenarios you've given could be true depending on the guy and where he is in his life. Good luck.

im 22 and a virgin in college. still looking for that special girl. maybe ill find her : P I think a lot of guys in college are just out to sleep with a lot of girls at first. then near the last year or so they look for more meaningful relationships. its kind of ingrained in us that that is what college should be like. just look at all the movies about college. but I can't talk about everyone. we are all different.

In college, socially you are pressured to have as much sex, drink as much alcohol, party as much as you can.

If you are in a relationship, you cannot meet those rites of passage.
