I asked someone on here if, in the US, "someone ineligible to vote could send in a home made ballot drawn in crayon with their preference on it and have their illegal vote counted".
The answer is obviously "no", but that's not what I got. What I got was a demand for in-person voting on election day, so that people could trust the system (I don't believe that's really his intent).
I suggested that people who aren't confident in the system should simply ask "how do you know ballots are valid?". So, I thought I'd offer to check for any holes in the electoral system for anyone who isn't sure, and explain why they don't exist or the penalties for getting caught.
I'm sure there will be people who say that I can't possibly know anything about US politics or election rules, because I live in Germany, and apparently that means I cannot read official documentation. These people are idiots; ignore them.
So. How do you think American citizens could vote more than once for their preferred candidate? Please name the state!
In case you haven't guessed, I'm goaded. (Don't expect instant responses, it's late here.)
