Who came out looking better: Trump or Zelenskyy?

Trump & Vance were to busy on “thank you”, “you should be thankful”.
Zelenskyy didn’t get to say anything and the President & Vice President were yelling instead of letting him talk.
Summary: Zelenskyy doesn’t want a ceasefire deal because it would mean Russia keeps the land they invaded and for a long damn time Zelenskyy’s Ukrainian Forces kept COMMUNIST PUTIN’s forces away until North Korea poured boots on the ground, Iran gave more missiles, and China gave more drones. This isn’t an impossible fight, Zelenskyy wants US Military Aid to continue the fight and even referencing a deal Trump & him made in 2019 AND Congress Approved Aid that he wants Trump to continue with.
Donald J Trump wants to be the one to do the ceasefire to take credit, brag, and be the center of attention. That is why he hosted the press conference in the first place.
Donald J Trump doesn’t want to see the war continue or else look weak, he wants it to end at the expense of our allies…. I see this as a reverse Vietnam, we were losing badly and the government covered it up so much so we left at a ‘good time’ to save lives because communism was not worth dying for. Ukraine is actually fighting hard and can win if the aid comes through, they’ll pay us back at the end of the war just like with the Marshall Plan Truman did after we helped Europe win the win against the Nazis cementing us as a world power to be feared by Communists & Socialists & Fascists! Donald J Trump is playing into their hands.
Zelenskyy cares about his patriotic people with guns fighting off the Communists on the frontlines and Trump only cares about bragging rights that come with a ceasefire deal.
What a disgrace. What an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.
Notice it’s all quiet right now, but within a couple hours they’ll all have received their instructions about how to think about this.
I can’t wait to see my dad tonight. He voted for Trump, big Republican, but of the old cloth, the “America is the lynchpin of world security” type. He already gave a disheartened head shake when I told him how it’s going so far. He said this would make him turn on Trump, and that stopping Putin was his main concern. Why he thought Trump was the best guy to do it, I couldn’t tell you, but that’s how he voted.
Anyway….. I don’t think he’ll be very impressed by this. Just gotta get to him before right wing media does, lmao
Lmaoooo, for real
Update: my dad is PISSED.
“I’m so embarrassed.” - my old man
@oddball he doesn't need to talk to Putin like this cause Putin is not the arrogant spoiled brat who wants to keep a war he knows damn well he can't fight on his own going.
and where were you to preach about "Employee/boss relations are tough" when Biden made all the bums in San Fransisco vanished when Xi Jinping visited the place
On the one hand you have a not sure I can even call it human, more a disgrade of a human being who showed yesterday he doesn't care about humanity or human lives but just money and power. On the other hand you have a Zelenskyy, a president who is caged on both sides by two dictators, while trying to safe humans and freedom of his people. Somone who yesterday got backstabbed by a marionette figure of his enemy.
The fact is tens of thousands of Ukrainians have died fighting this war an zelensky has to tell his people if it was for something. He can't be seen to roll over for Trump and just hand over 50% of it's minerals, Trump has long been seen as little more than a troll and a bully and tonight he did nothing to dispel that.

Zelensky. Just look at the support for Ukraine in the U. S, and the world at large. Not that they let him talk very much, but he asserted himself well in a very hostile environment. And that's the problem, the hostile environment. Just look at other meetings between world leaders that are televised, just like this one. Statesmen act like statesmen, even if the meeting is likely to disagreeable, even if the two nations don't get along too well. The visiting dignitaries are treated as guests and treated cordially. And the discussions proceed with professionalism and calmness because that's what heads of states are supposed to fucking do because they're responsible for entire countries and can't be shooting off their lips because they represent millions of people. They have to think before they fucking speak. They're not at the local tavern, they're in front of the world. They created a hostile environment for Zelensky from the outset. They wanted personal thank yous, which is fucking childish to begin with. Reminds me of Seinfeld and the "day after thank you" episode. Talk about egos, my god these fucking narcissists. Succinctly put, Zelensky wouldn't kiss the ring of King Chicken McNugget so they got mad and chirped at him. Good for Zelensky. Trump went back to golfing and Vance went skiing after the meeting was over while Zelensky returned to the war. That's the most incandescent difference between Zelensky and those flabby fucking morons he had to listen to.
Zelensky, for sure, and there's no other way it could have happened. He basically had to storm out of the Oval Office or none of his people would ever take him seriously again. He went from the US giving him everything he wanted to the US actually expecting something in return for our investment. That's a difficult thing to sell to your country when they've spent the last 3 years fighting for survival.
There was no way he could be seen sitting through that meeting with a level head. He's ordered too many of his countrymen to their deaths. If Zelensky went along with these negotiations, his people would realize him for the Western puppet that he is.
@goaded Zelensky is the definition of a puppet. The entire Maidan Revolution was a result of decades-long CIA efforts to destabilize Ukraine. Zelensky has actively opposed Russian efforts to come to the negotiating table.
It is a documented fact beyond dispute that we've been trying to steal Ukraine from Russia since the 90s. We wanted to cut off Russia's access to the Black sea.
Of course it was. Putin never coerced all Russia's neighbours with threats and deeds of invasion or "rebellions". He never supported puppet politicians in Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, etc.. He's never talked about "restoring" Russia's greatness and returning to historical borders well inside neighbouring countries. Ukrainians never thought it would be better to align themselves with a peaceful Europe than a dangerous dictator who assassinates people all over the world.
No, it's all some decades long plot by the CIA.
@goaded No, like the White House has admitted this. This is an extremely proven and understood thing that we know happened.
www.cato.org/.../washington-helped-trigger-ukraine-war
Even in this article, which is written against the idea that the American government orchestrated the revolution, acknowledges that the US is much more heavily involved in Ukrainian domestic politics than has been let on. www.thebulwark.com/.../what-really-happened-in-ukraine-in-2014-and-since-then
@goaded CATO's reporting is given a high credibility rating. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/cato-institute/
As for the the parts of the other article that prove my point; the entire article is full of those points. Literally the entire point of the article is that Washington was heavily involved in Maidan. That's why it was written.
I think you're reading the parts where they're explaining the right's bogus claims as false as being factual. Give me an example.
Perhaps you're thinking of something like this? "In a report three days after the leak of the recording, BBC diplomatic correspondent Jonathan Marcus noted that the disclosure was embarrassing because it showed that “the US is clearly much more involved in trying to broker a deal in Ukraine than it publicly lets on.” But that’s hardly the same as engineering a coup, a charge that not only paints the Americans as malignant puppeteers but denies agency to the Ukrainians who revolted."
@goaded Oh no, I read the entire article. The reason I shared it is because it provides the left wing perspective on the issue (that the West was less involved). The reason I did that was to show that the notion the West was involved in the Maidan Revolution is endorsed by both side of the aisle, even if they disagree about the exact extent of the involvement.
Even going beyond those 2 articles, we have videos of White House officials on TV talking about stealing Ukraine away from Russia. The USAID funding controversies. Files and memorandums from the US Congress talking about anti-Russian foreign policy approaches.
This is extremely well established stuff.
"it provides the left wing perspective" It's from the Bulwark, a right wing outlet.
Is it a surprise to you that Russia has been a rival to the United States for decades?
Anyway, you have to admit that convincing the people to democratically vote to join you by showing them the genuine advantages (not least of which would be protection from invasion) is somewhat different from a massive military invasion on all fronts, no?
@goaded Uh yeah, no shit. It is a perspective that is against the more common right wing perspective; that's what diversity of thought looks like.
And yes, I would agree that convincing a group of people to do something is different from a military invasion. But I would also say that that involvement is still a far cry from ethical behavior.
@goaded Well... you and I are looking at things from a Western perspective. That's not how the rest of the world is viewing this situation though.
I would say that from the rest of the world's perspective, most of what the West offers is money, not not so much peace. The benefits of Western society are obvious to us because we value things that Western society values. Not everybody values what we value though, in fact most of the rest of the world despises what we stand for. That's the crux of the issue.
Someone who really doesn't like LGBTQ people isn't going to care how much economic success they can get by allowing people to live however they want because they view the negatives as outweighing the positives.
tRump looked like exactly what he is, a bully exploiting his advantage over a guy fighting for the existence of his sovereign nation.
It is pathetic that tRump is still pissed that Zelenskyy refused to manufacture lies and spread propaganda about Biden during the 2016 presidential campaign and is now seeking revenge and retribution. The same thing he's doing to Tony Fauci, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, etc.
It's never a good look for an elected official to use their power to persecute political opponents for profit and personal grievances. But that's what you get when you elect a fascist dictator with the mind of a small child.
To be fair, it's not unheard-of for America to behave this way; the UK only finished paying off America and Canada for WWII some time this century. www.politics.co.uk/.../
Other than that, you're 100% on the nose.
@goaded ,
Seeking restitution for saving a country from an existential threat is NOT the problem. That's fine. And Zelenskyy was not at all resisting that idea. What's wrong here is our Criminal In Chief was trying to coerce Zelenskyy to give away territory to an invader so that tRump could get a convenient photo op and persecuting Zelenskyy personally for not agreeing to frame Joe Biden during the 2016 campaign by withdrawing US support at a crucial moment. tRump is a piece of shit.
Agreed.
70% of the money from the US to Ukraine went straight into the US economy. Trump doesn't want to give Ukraine anything in negotiations. Without serious security guarantees (better than the one Russia gave not to invade), there's nothing to stop Putin just coming back again in a few years' time.
Trump's just a mafia thug, he's not the boss though, Vladdy's his daddy and I'm sure he's been given his marching orders. Still absolutely dumbstruck as to how many Americans fail to see how this type of behavior is going to impact the country financially and simply in terms of good will, Could someone load hid next Big Mac up with foxglove? Please?
gay question... it doesn't matter. A move to make some kind of progress out of the mess, failed.
Today... how many people got slaughtered in the mud? How many coyotes are out there chewing on their bones?
And will this crap get a lot worse before it gets better.
President Trump showed a lot of restraint but it was good to see a leader that would stand up for Americans. Trump holds all the cards and Zelensky knows that without US funding he will have to surrender the next day. I bet Zelensky will have a lot to think about tonight.
Zelenskyy is a little bitch. He cannot win this war without the United States and continually turns down peace deals. He’s not dealing with that senile fuck Biden who keeps throwing money at him like he’s a stripper.
Every moron in the US who wants to do “anything” to help Ukraine. Pick up a rifle and head over there. HE’s in desperate need of more cannon fodder.
Yeah it was an ambush. I feel sorry for Ukraine. Everyone has to tolerate lazy moral standards because a bunch of arsewholes have nuclear weapons. This is not the first and or last time the planet will be held to ransom by a bunch of fuck wits.
And I'll add, that I don't think this war will stop, I have a strong feeling that the Russians and North Koreans are going to try and pull off another massive offensive really soon.
WHO VOTED TRUMP IS A TROLL 100% THERE IS NO NORMAL HUMAN BEEN WHO VOTE TRUMP ONLY PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR RUSSIA TROLL FACTORIES 55 Savushkina Street, Sankt Petersburg, Rusia
Zelensky. Zelensky's trying to protect his people & country from Russian invasion with people dieing in large amounts and trump was being his manchild overly entitled self wanting zelensy to praise and worship him while trump sides with our foreign enemy putin
Zelensky punching Trump in his bloated orange face!
I only wish this wasn't AI
Truthfully I think Vance came out looking better on this one.
Trump gave nothing away in that deal
Zelenskyy got nothing out of that deal
Trump came out better looking except to snowflakes who whine about tone policing
the only people who thought Zelenskyy looked better were those dumb losers who want World War 3 to start
Relax, buddy. The conversation was about when the U. S. actually :put boots on the ground." Lend-Lease was important, but last I checked, crates of supplies don’t carry rifles into battle
I can tell you fell to sleep in history class like a real dipshit
Oddbeme that’s not what I said. Let’s have this conversation again when you lay down the crack pipe
Zelenskyy came our looking much better if it matters, which it may not. Trump behaved like the entitled, arrogant asshole he is and we have all come to expect this sort of behavior from him.
Zelensky ultimately left with wounded pride only.
Trump could have waited for Zelensky to sign the 500 BN mineral deal and leave the building before continuing sucking Putlers dick.
Rubio was right. All three were wrong and should have shut the fuck up, like him.
democrats love zelenskyy and the way he does cum tributes on stacks of American tax-payer money that he STOLE rather than used to help his people. the comments here prove my point.
Trump didn't go in looking great. So he started lower than Zelenskyy.
Trump. Time for peace.
