There are hard-working Americans that will never be able to afford to fly on a plane. But criminals somehow are afforded that luxury, over and over.
Again, don't tell me what the laws are, because I want your personal opinion.
If you can manage to figure out a way to get from Iraq to America, then you should be able to figure out a way to get back. If you enter America illegally you should be deported back to the country you were last in. That would most likely be Mexico or Canada.

We might get more cooperation from the illegals’ home countries by taxing remittances and negotiating agreements that may include incentives to automatically take them back.
As it stands right now, remittances are a huge source of income for many countries do they have every incentive to have as many of their citizens as possible working in the US. That incentive needs to be removed for people working in the US illegally.
Best answer yet. I was thinking that Trump could just deduct the flight cost from the foreign aid we're probably going to give them anyway. It just chaps my hide that the American taxpayers now have to pay for bumbling biden's open borders.

Please remember that it was Republican Reagan who granted them unconditional amnesty. Bush tried to do the same but was stopped by Congressional conservatives. All agree that the massive inflow of illegal did start under Reagan and it is he who should be blamed for creating the mess.
True, Democrats could have done more to stop the inflow. After all, the record shows that both Obama and Biden actually sent back more than did the Republicans. I am not in favor of any handouts for illegal aliens, but. . . if we tell them to leave and they don't. . . then what? We put them in prison? How much will that cost? And when they get out of prison, they're still here. Do we keep supporting them until we determine another solution? The cheapest and most expedient solution is to return them to their home country as quickly as possible. And that sends a message to other potential immigrants.
My purpose for this question was to have members come up with ideas to save the taxpayers money. Regardless of the scenario we choose, staying here in America is not an option.

I hear what you are saying. However to support an illegal alien costs around $50,000 dollars a year per illegal alien. To incarcerate somebody in the US costs between $80,000 and $100,000. A few thousand dollars for a plane ride is worth it. There is a bill going through congress that will include money for deportations and to secure both borders. Maybe that will include buying a few transport planes.

If people care enough to deport them, then they should be willing to have a portion of their taxes allocated to that cause. I would personally be happy to have my some of my taxes go to that cause as well as reinforcement of the border and future action against illegal immigrants.
There are approximately 340 million people in America, about 168 million are taxpayers. Approximately 11.7 million of that are illegal immigrants living in America currently. A plane ticket from America to anywhere in Asia averages out to about $1k. So...
11,700,000 * 1,000 = 11.7 billion
11,700,000,000 (cost of deporting illegal immigrants) / 168,000,000 (number of taxpayers) = 69.6
So if taxpaying citizens pay for every illegal immigrant to be deported, it would cost each person approximately $70 give or take a bit. I'd personally happily pay $100 to clean the country up a little.
Unfortunately, it is probably cheaper to take them home. Then to keep them here. I am sure that most Democratic politicians have more than one house. So maybe they will allow them to use their houses that they are not using! On the other hand. Take away the Democrats salary and perks to pay for the airline ticket to send them back home!
If you get them to their home country, which is typically farther away than the last country they were in, there is less chance that they will try to re-enter the country. Besides, the other country doesn't want non-citizens either. Maybe the money saved from USAID will pay for the flights. Or just make the flights military training flights... with passengers. They have to train anyway.
No hold on! You are whining bitching and moaning about people being deported - a government action. Does it cost money? Sure. You know what else costs money? a lot MORE money? Flying Air Force One. That's a glorious waste when many times the President can travel by other cheaper means.
You're talking about some hypothetical ideal (other countries paying to repatriate their citizens), but in the real world, that's never going to happen. And it's not a choice that's available.
Instead, the choices are:
let them remain, and pay many multiples of the cost, each year, year after year for them to stay, OR
pay a small price, once, and have them gone permanently, and end the bleeding immediately.
I agree that we "shouldn't", but unfortunately, we will. People need to learn that there are big consequences for voting for the wrong person, and paying for all the costs of deportations is one of those consequences. But, really, that cost is a drop in the bucket compared to the OCEAN of costs that we're going to KEEP paying for because of all of the illegal immigrants that AREN'T deported. And don't be shocked when MOST illegals aren't deported.
Many will self-deport, and the Trump admin is going to go hard after the criminals, but you're likely to learn that most non-criminal immigrants are going to be allowed to stay - at least, they aren't going to be actively deported. Trump may make it harder for them to stay, harder to get benefits, and MUCH harder to vote illegally, but he's not likely to actually round them up and deport them.
I wish he would, but the simple fact is that there are too many people who would make a big stink about it - you'd hear every sob story there was - and Trump has more important things to do with the political capital and limited time that he has. So he'll only go so far.
A majority of immigrants enter with legal paperwork. They just overstay their visas. And since it’s the nation they entered that has a problem with them staying, it makes sense that same nation pays to get rid of them in the same way you have to pay an exterminator to get rid of termites in your house that you bought rather than the exterminator paying the homeowner.

Of course their countries don't want them back because nobody wants them. That's why I suggest they go back and wait in Mexico or Canada or whatever the last country they were in before they crossed into to America illegally.
The cost of dropping them off over a country of their choosing with a parachute is a drop in the bucket compared to what it will cost to feed, house and clothe them for the rest of their non-working lives.
