The common theme among those against requiring ID to vote is that it's racist. Because minorities are too dumb to get a state-issued ID.

But with Real ID coming online, you must have a real ID to enter federal buildings or get on a plane. Is that racist too?

So the real id is a direct response to 9/11 attack over 20 years ago to implement. It also started rollout April 2019 and only is now being enforced.

The general voter id movement was intentionally obstructive of minority groups. Just last second changes to get away with taking people's rights away in a calculated manner. if there was any care of identifying people it would taken more time to be rolled out properly and fairly. Like being able to get a photo ID at a post office. Have those rollout and avaliable for free 6 years before requiring them to vote. Thats who you do it properly.

People in general are lazy. I didn't even know about real id in 2019 when I got mine. I got lucky i was able to early enroll. Majority of these people today who need real id had to renew before anyone with a real life even heard of real id and got fucked rule changes. Which is a few 100 million people.

So Again we fucked up a 20 year roll out to let osama bin ladin win his war on terrorism. So voter id we can't have some level of grace period to iron out details to avoid the rascal accusations?

A lot of the people ARE being targeted by these voter suppression rules. It's not merely about "ID" but the rules created out of thin air for this non-problem in the first place.

For example, by these rules you cannot vote if you have an out of state ID. If the ID is good enough to be used in another state, what the fuck makes your state special?

You also have rules like drivers licence or army vet card, not being valid ID to vote. Bitch, that is some Trump level stupidity right there...

Your example of having an out of state drivers license is really a bad example. You register to vote where you live, because the elections are not just for the president, it's also for local politicians, judges, amendments etc. There is no reason to allow someone from out of state to vote in another state for those reasons, so allowing an out of state Dr license is pointless.

Now if your not going to be in your home town or are moving then you need to request an absentee ballet.

You should make better arguments especially if your going to throw around insults about the stupidity of it.

Well shit for brains, if I live in California and present a NY drivers license, how does that prove I'm a citizen of California and eligible to vote in California? Besides, California would require me to get a California driver's license to drive in the state if I had relocated there.

ID to vote is FINE. Provide it for free to all citizens. Enlist consulates & embassies to help applicants not born here get their proper documents. It should state citizenship, residency & have a picture along with biometric data. In other words A PASSPORT!!
