If trump is against this... doesn't that mean he's afraid of it and wants it hidden?

Sure... As long as the tariff is actually affecting the price of that item. Full disclosure is the way to go. And actually (according to CNN), the White House is voicing support for making that information known. https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/29/business/white-house-calls-report-that-amazon-is-adding-a-tariff-charge-a-hostile-action
No it didn't. The article has Trump saying Jeff Bezos is a good guy and that the call went well. And then we have a quote from Secretary Lutnik to CNBC saying "Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick echoed Levitt’s comments, saying it’s a hostile act if a company goes out of its way to “make it seem” like tariffs have caused prices to change.
“It’s nonsense,” he said Tuesday in a CNBC interview. “A 10% tariff is not going to change virtually any price,” he added, referring to the nearly universal baseline tariff on all countries. “The only price will change would be a product that we don’t make here, like a mango.” The 10% tariff, however, is hardly the only one in effect."
At most hostile, the article is saying that the Trump administration doesn't want Amazon artificially raising prices under the false guise of responding to tariffs.
I don't think he is afraid of it...
It should be required, tariffs are a foem af tax ad should also require congressional approval, but Trump doesn't like to be exposed for his greed, so did away with the CFPB and threatened Amazon if they actually did this as they said they were going to.
Yes, I would want to know how much additional I am paying for things I purchase due to tariffs.
Of course. Why would he be trying to hide if they increase prices since tariffs are so amazing?

Probably. What Europeans find crazy about shopping in the US is that the ticket price isn't what you pay at the till. The sales taxes are included in the price you see, here.
The emperor with no clothes can’t have the stupid peasants who adore him seeing the truth.
If he was actually a genius mastermind who’s playing 6D chess with the tarrifs then the administration wouldn’t have an issue with it but if you’re a normal person then you know that’s not the case
I would be okay with it. I could shop around for a product from a company that will not simply pass the tariff onto the customer.
you don't have to buy the item. certainly there is a cheaper locally made/grown replacement?
