Should local elections dates differ from federal or coordinate with federal election dates? What are the pros & cons? Would any party benefit?

In my town they wanted to build a new high school. This requires a debt exclusion that must be voted for. They tried the first time on election day in November and it did not pass. It was basically the people who had kids in the system against the people that didn't. They tried again later on in the year and it failed again. Then the next July they ran it on a Saturday when many people go away or else too busy to vote. The residents who really had a vested interest in the issue made sure they voted and the third time it passed but just barely.

No. Our federal election is fucked up as it is why punish local government flexibly.

I say fuck it put 4th of July election voting day (maybe the 3rd) and November super Tuesday inauguration day. State of the state January 21st. Fuck I hate basically everything November beyond Thanksgiving. So I might be biased.
