Depends on your viewpoint. If we are just considering "life on earth" then its completely negligible. We could have the biggest nuclear war to eradicate ourselves and as much of the earth as we can, combined with polluting as much as we can with plastics and whatever.. and in 100 million years after our demise there would be no real trace of us on this green and vibrant planet anymore.
We are not a threat to life on earth as it stands. We are a threat to the current "natural order of things", the current system that we live in and which has put us at the top. We are at threat to OURSELVES in a roundabout way. The earth might adapt and recover but we might not be so lucky.
