A few years ago, it was all about "States' rights!" and now it's, "Well, only for red states, because fuck blue states."

After that it was, "Law & Order! Back the blue!" until it became, "Nope, those were peaceful tourists, and they should all be pardoned for beating the police!"

After that, it was, "No more wars!" until that turned into, "Level Gaza, so we can build a resort!"

Then it was, "We want to lower the price of eggs!" which quickly turned into, "Fuck the price of eggs! Tariff them!"

Who knows. MAGA isn’t the brightest, and I don’t think tariffs were anything they cared about. If they had half a brain, they’d be very much against them, because they’re the idiots suffering from them. But I think that was solely OrangeTurds misguided goal—not MAGA.
Don’t know about isolationism—MAGA seems to just want their perceived grievances and inherent bigotry validated and heard. They seem to be also looking for a scapegoat for their socioeconomic situation, and are all too happy to blame immigrants, and trans people for their woes.

The true MAGA types - people like Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Matt Gaetz, whose job was to attract white trash - were always isolationist, and probably still are.

The true Republicans - the ones who get labelled "RINO", ironically enough - are all about big business, and therefore want to import certain things cheaply from abroad, but also want to make certain other imports less competitive with domestic products (depending on which industry lobbyists are paying them the most).

And then there are the flip floppers - Trump himself, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Mike Johnson, etc - who actually have no particular convictions, and will just go with whatever seems popular at the time.
