When I say domino effect I mean if a person successfully commits suicide that will probably increase the likelihood of the friends or family of the person who died doing or thinking about the same thing.

A single Suicide is not an isolated thing.

For every suicide on average 100 people are impacted. Friend of a friend hairdresser's kids cousin kinda gossip.

From their 3 more people are deeply impacted. People struggling and hear someone nearby committing suicide...

In smaller communitys it becomes a rebounding effect. 1 becomes 2 more and 5 more and community leaders are calling national emergencies. It's all too common in native American villages.

Even when celebrity's commit suicide the hotlines get overwhelmed. The center of disease control is responsible for suicide outbreaks.

Yea I've seen what suicide does to the people left behind. It doesn't always but there 100% is a correlation.

Domino effect is a very cold/detached way to talk about it, so I'm gonna try another approach.

A suicide strikes everyone's feelings around, when people are reacting normally I mean, they have to feel this wave, the loss, the permanence of death. And in turn, it wakes up these worries we all have about existence. For those already experiencing hard times, then it sends a message they receive: "They did it, they committed suicide". It sends people back to their own minds and hardship, uncertainties.

Then death, something once abstract, suicide, becomes very concrete, it has to resonate.

The statistics indicate that people who survive the suicides of relatives or friends are more likely to attempt suicide themselves. In cases involving known mental illnesses, some of them have been shown to be common among family members, but as yet are unconfirmed as “hereditary”.
In light of this information, people who have lost someone close to them to suicide should be much more vigilant about their own mental health and that of their other close friends and relatives.

No. It gets people talking about despair, grief, rage, shame and the dark passenger we all travel with.

I & most teacher colleagues were perplexed and angry when administrators wanted us to shut down any talk about "13 reasons why". Just short sighted CYA stupidity and a loss of a great teachable moment.

my friend is a twin and he lost his brother to it, so he struggles with it now too. its sad but i get it

Look up Bridgend, Wales. There were 26 copycat suicides in one year.

Usually when a kid does it, it ends up in the newspaper and then you hear about some other kid doing it.
