Why Wasn't US Maryland Renamed? And Why Is Hawaii Allowed The Union Jack?

Maryland was named after Charles I wife - Queen Henrietta Maria.

Charles I was the most absolutist of tyrannical monarchs. He didn't think the people should have any representation at all. He dissolved parliament three times between 1625 and 1629. In 1629 he decided to end parliament and illegally tax the people.

The English so hated his tyranny and taxation without representation, they revolted and cut his head off.

So how come, after Americans successfully revolted against tyranny and taxation without representation, they continued with a state named after the bint of the worst, most tyrannical of taxers without representation? Surely that was an insult to the the American Revolution.

Why wasn't Maryland renamed Marthaland after GW's wife?

The other thing I find strange is why the Union Jack is on the Hawaii state flag. Queen Victoria only reigned over Hawaii for 5 months in 1843 and only then by accident because of an officious Royal Navy captain (who wasn't punished for it by the way).

So I don't buy that the Union Jack symbolizes Hawaii's traditional ties to the British Empire. The only genuine tie was the British Empire didn't need any more sugar farming real estate.

Isn't it a bit insulting to the rest of the USA? Especially in the 19th century. And Americans were running everything back in 1843, so why did they allow the insult?

Should Trump rename Maryland and replace the Union Jack on Hawaii's state flag? It would be righting a historical wrong like the Gulf of America has.
