Dude literally said “I got that white girl.” Proving that it was racially motivated. Problem is no jurisdiction in the US has applied hate crime laws to white victims. It’s not exactly easy to set a precedent like that when the main goal is actually justice. There are plenty of activists sitting on judicial benches making sh*t up as they go along. But this case will be prosecuted at the federal level because many people actually want justice. I highly doubt it gets prosecuted as a hate crime. If it does, and he’s convicted, we can fully expect the violent criminal apologists on the left to riot and loot again. Like they actually need an excuse at this point.

Hit send by accident but was also going to say that I don’t think the spirit of the “hate crime” rule is necessarily to protect white people from POCs, straight people from LGBTQ+ folks, native-born people from immigrants. Like that rule exists in the first place BECAUSE it’s white people who couldn’t be trusted, men who couldn’t be trusted, native-born citizens who couldn’t be trusted to not attack others solely on identity.

You could make the black-and-white (no pun intended) argument of “but if it applies to some, it should apply to all”, I guess. But I keep going back to WHY the law had to be made, and it seems VERY obvious that the people it was designed to keep in check are trying to desperately find some way to spin it to their own favor, even just ideologically, or just take it away as any sort of protection for others by making a mockery of it through abusing it.

Like I feel like you have to be a stupid person to WANT to do that, and then they think everyone else is as dumb as them and can’t see the obvious when they try to pull it🙄🤦‍♂️😂

Bottom line: this is an issue of “why do we have the mentally ill walking around untreated?” I think the racism here is more of a product of the “crazy” than just some true hate crime.

And to be fair, I don’t think anyone should be automatically accused of a hate crime. You might go after someone for some completely unrelated reason. If you shoot someone in a fender bender incident, and they turn out to be gay or were a POC, and you’re straight or white as the case may be, I don’t think that should be a hate crime, that’s just homicide. Gay bashing someone is a hate crime; beating someone up who happened to be gay is just Assault & Battery, straight up.

Anyway, my half-brother is schizophrenic, he hears voices and shit. He gets proper care and supervision. I don’t anticipate him stabbing anyone but I guess I can’t rule it all the way out either. He says racist shit all the time too, lmfao, so hopefully he doesn’t stab anyone based on that.
