I don't know if this woman voted for Trump--but she is obviously sorry that he won. Her interviewer has empathy--but where she lives --in Missouri, they cannot complain, because that is what they voted for. I have seen many of these stories about former Trump supporters now sorry that he is out leader now. I'm not surprised.

Like everything else in life, it takes planning to get a good outcome. I do not know what this woman is talking about. I suppose the democrats searched far and wide and finally found one person in Missouri that is not doing well financially.
In 2020 I was laid off from my job because of covid. I planned on collecting unemployment for as long as I could and then I was going to retire. When Biden was elected it seemed like the stock market plummeted overnight and the price of gas was over 5 bucks a gallon. Soon the price of everything else skyrocketed including heating oil and electricity. Then the democrats started talking about taxing savings. I imagine they would love to tax everybody's retirement accounts to fund their crazy policies. That is what scared the crap out of me because I knew that they would do it if they could. Fortunately the Republicans won back the house and could stop it.. I started looking for a new job and I worked an additional 3 years. I retired in July 2024. I figured if Trump won we would be okay and if Biden won we would all be screwed anyway.

When Biden was elected , shortly afterwardds, Russia invaded Ukraine and everywhere in the world, gas prices went up. Not only in the YS. The world does not mean only the US. Just so you know.
I don’t know why your savings went down during his term. My interest rates were higher in my bank and I was happy earning the interest I was. Now it’s lower.
Oh that was just one person who is suffering. There are milllions of others who also are suffering. I know it because I have many neighbors on Nextdoor. com who are asking for help financially, asking where are food banks, and complaining about grocery prices which have not come down.
To me it sounds like you’re living in lala land when you make comments like we are doing great. Don’t believe Trump. Google how the economy is doing now. - 7 mo
I already rebutted your assertion in another post, by simply looking up the DOW index.
* Trump takes office - Jan. 20, 2017 - $19,827
* Peak prior to Covid - Feb 14, 2020 - $29, 398
* Covid shutdown - March 13, 2020 - $18,592
* Biden takes over - Jan 17, 2021 - $ 30,814
* Biden exits Jan 17, 2025 - $43,488
So, after covid, the market returned to pre-covid prices. Then it gained $12, 600 under Biden.
Gas prices HAVE NOT CHANGED from Jan 2021 to Oct 2025. No change. Considering how BAD the Scump deal was with OPEC, that's amazing. Biden had to plead with them to tear up that deal, but they said "no". Two significant refineries in the US have shut down in 2025, and a third is coming.
The price of electricity is not at all tied to the price of gasoline -- you just think it is, seven.
Apparently you still don't understand why. You also don't understand how you're getting fucked over by the BBB, or how 26 million people, at least, will be without health insurance once again, and how that actually effects you and your little dream world.

@loveslongnails --it's a fact the economy does far better under all of our democratic presidents. On the contrary, I think Trump has been by far --next to Herbert Hoover during the Great Depression-- our worst president for the economy. It's no surprise. He only cares about the top 1 oe 2% of the nation--as you well know. I'm convinced that we are headed for another depression.
- 7 mo
Yes, it's a statistic Republicans hate but can not refute. The party of "less government" has ALWAYS expanded the government and spent more money while increasing the national debt. Democrats reduce debt, increase the GNP, and expand the economy. Republicans do one thing really well, and it's all kind of just one thing... they lie, they grift, they gaslight. It's been overused, but it's 100% accurate... every time a Republican accuses someone else of some wrong doing, it's a confession. They've already done it, they just want you to look the other way.

Grocery prices will not come down much. Once inflation makes things go up, they really never go back. President Trump has made fuel prices go down because they were made artificially high in the liberals charge to punish people who drive to work every day.
The difference is that prices do not go up every week. Inflation has been a steady 2.5-3% since January and President Trump's policies are working to make it even lower.
The economy is working for working Americans. Illegal aliens and welfare cheats not so much and they are the ones you see in the news. - 7 mo
LOTS of Missourians are struggling. You're the typical myopic, selfish Trumpbot, boy-o !!!

It's so pathetic how you have accepted the lies and spew them back, or you're being paid to do it.
How fucking STUPID do you have to be to believe an immigrant who barely speaks English, who is NOT eligible for Government benefits, and is willing to work in the agricultural fields of California, Florida or wherever they can find work, is somehow HURTING YOU or the US economy? I can not imagine the breadth of that stupidity. Meanwhile, you get grifted every day by billionaires and you bend over, lube up your ass, and say "thank you Sir, may I have some more?"
You're too brainwashed by bullshit to understand that the VAST majority of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck with no more than 3 months back up before they would be homeless. Why don't you know this? Because you choose not to, you can't read a graph or stats, and you believe EVERYTHING Fox and Scumpie tell you.
Then you spew it out on here. Well, I guess it keeps folks like myself, and Amy, and Dr. Pepper, and other people busy making sure your LIES are exposed, every day. - 7 mo
My retirement accoung almost double during Trumps first term. It nave got anywhere close to that in the 30 years that I had it. It did so well that I considered taking early retirement. It tnked as soon as Biden won the election, even before he took office. A few months before Biden left office it finally was what it was 4 years ago. The problem is that money was worth 80% of what it was worth in 2020.
- 7 mo
The numbers don't lie. Whatever you earned in the Trump years increased in the Biden years if you were indexed to the Dow. Give us a fucking break.

7 moI'm not really liking this whole this is what people voted for. The left and the right say it anytime they feel it applies but in reality no one voted for this. They were duped by Trump, they believed he was going to fight for them, and they were voting against the establishment.
I think many people that voted for him are just severely uneducated about politics and never listen to anything the left has to say from the left. They allow and believe everything Trump and right wing media says about the left. They don't really research anything or know how to properly understand much of what they say they believe in. He'll you ask them anything Trump has done for them and they say one word answers and really can't explain anything.

I understand and although they voted for Trump remember they believed his lies. I don't think people vote for being worse off. We need to find ways to unify each other because both the left and right says things like this is what you voted for and it's divisive and leads to less productive conversation. It stinks and I understand it is frustrating but that's just my opinion of course
- 7 mo
@ Friendlybro, I understand that they believed his lies. But I don't believe Democrats are dividing the country. They are the ones voicing that our democracy is in danger, that this man is creating authoritarianism right before our eyes, that we need to stop him. The country has been divided before, and he is succeeding in doing it again since he came into office. It will continue even after he leaves. We cannot find ways to get the other side to unify--it's far too late.
- 7 mo
Don't disagree with your sentiment. Remember I'm just saying they voted for this isn't helping. They voted for the opposite and got lied to. Many of them are turning around. We just need to be better and opening arms and saying ok so it took you longer than we hoped for but I'm glad you're here now. Let's making alliances. Telling Republicans well this what you voted for is divisive and not welcoming. It's snarky. I don't think you mean it to be but that's all I'm saying. Not trying to be harsh. For us to win we need to attract people to our side with less sarcasm in my opinion.
- 7 mo
If you think it's far too late then I think you're part of the problem because it isn't too late. We're still here aren't we? Farmers are turning around and realizing they made the wrong decision (the ones that voted for Trump I mean). People will turn around stop being a defeatist.

Thank you for saying your thought. But— this is what you voted for— maybe should be “This is who you voted for”. Didn’t these people learn from his first term in office and know what he was like? I knew what Trump was like in his first term. I had read the economy was not very great after he left, and that he wasn’t interested in helping the poor or middle class people. I also knew many people lost their own private businesses due to advice he gave them. If these people such as the woman in the video, had perhaps known his history, maybe they would not have voted for him. I don’t think it’s being snarky to say this is what they voted for, in that respect. I think it’s a true statement. Sometimes the truth hurts.
And yes we should be more accepting and welcoming of them as they realize that—- but how many have actually come to you and said they are sorry they voted for him? I have not met many— only about two— and I live in a red state. And frankly, I am angry that we are in this position right now— because we are all suffering at the cost of people voting for him. Not that I think the election was fair. I also think the election itself was rigged— but that’s another point. - 7 mo
I appreciate the conversation. It is snarky and here's why. It's another way of saying this is your fault you idiot. That's what you're really saying. If you don't think so you're probably not willing to admit it to yourself because that's not what you intend.
Also, no one owes you or me an apology. That's childish. They didn't vote for things to get worse. Lack of education intertwining with misinformation and disinformation is a very deadly combination. They've been manipulated and many people have a hard time seeing it for themselves. Calling them out and pointing fingers, which you are doing, will yield zero change in minds. This serves more as a rant for you and honestly it's understandable. I'm not judging.
How many people have apologized to me personally maybe one lol. A family member to which I said no apology needed let's figure out a better path together. I have had 6 friends that voted for him in 2016 and didn't vote for him again and also a few friends that voted for him in 2016 and 2020, but not this last time.
Open dialogue with these friends and family have been intense, heated, argumentative, sometimes mean, and I can say that the only thing that worked for me was when I stopped basically name calling. I was doing it by accident out of anger.
I decided to pull documents, actual bills, interviews, and store them on my phone for when we would get into discussions so I had more than I read online or I saw part of an interview or I heard this new bill might do...
Nope I had it all ready and when conversation turned into this is fake... We'd go over evidence together. A few refused to acknowledge but a handful did and they didn't vote for Trump again. It's super hard but maybe 5 or so friends I helped me smarter and that's a lot of we all get just one friend or family member. Accusing and blaming won't work at all - 7 mo
Friendlybro, I am not the maker of this video. While I agree with the creator, I don’t go around Trump supporters telling them you voted for this. That’s your assumption. My question was, “Is this how MAGA will end up?” I may have mentioned it as what they voted for- and I should have stated this is WHO they voted for. And that’s a fact.
And while I admire you’re wanting to make peace with those supporters once they realize that they were mistaken— I do not do that because most of the people I know in my neighborhood and even on here, still support him. The only folks I have seen that are sorry they made that choice are on videos such as this one. There are plenty.
Let’s put it this way. “This is who you voted for” is a statement I stand by, because again, 4 years of his first nightmare was enough. I am not sorry I never voted for him, and I can’t fathom why anyone would ever vote for him a second time— unless they thought exactly like him: racist, bigot, misogynistic, rapist; ignoring the fact he is a felon/conman, and uncaring about the poor. Sorry, I can’t understand that, and I can’t apologize for being angry about that
Secondly, I fear for the country. That is my number one concern. I don’t look at or care about party at this point—I look at where the country is headed, and it’s not a pretty picture. Our democracy and our constitution is at stake. We have a man who is not intelligent running the nation. We have people who are oblivious to this. He has authoritarian and dictatorship tendencies, has and is continuing to deploy troops into cities, and is murdering people now on Venezuelan ships, and lying about why he is doing it by saying he’s fighting drug cartels. That’s a crock.
So no, I’m not being snarky. I’m being truthful and honest about how I feel based on what I see happening. - 7 mo
I know you didn't demand an apology you asked me how many have apologized to me and I answered you. I didn't assume anything. You seem to be assuming a lot of things and we're on the same side of the aisle.
My input isn't being shared to be upsetting. I'm trying to say we got to get out of this and it's our job to win people over not say, this is who you voted for. That is snarky and divisive. I am not saying you intended that and you yourself are snarky and divisive. Those words aren't going to change anyone's mind for 2028. They are made to feel stupid by that and no one will win your vote that way.
You have every right to disagree with me but really things about does this serve anything good or will it change minds? Or is it just so I can feel better and say see this is who you voted for... aka this is your fault.
I won't reply again if you want to say something just so that we don't get in a loop. I appreciate you hearing me out and please know I don't think your intentionally a bad faith actor. I have said things I wish I could change. I'm just trying to be better moving forward because that's all I can do and I really don't want another Republican administration in 2028.

7 moUse your own words. When a lawyer or college debater provides evidence, he or she prefaces it with a claim. You should make your point. Then I can evaluate the evidence. Posting links alone is lazy. Are you lazy?
Why is she sorry that he won?
"I have seen many of these stories about former Trump supporters now sorry that he is our leader now." What stories. Why are they sorry?
You have wasted a post because of lack of effort to convince me.

No. They go together, as you have proven today. Your response is weak, because women are mostly incapable, of critical thinking and logic. You resort to shallow insults. Sad.
- 7 mo
You’re saying that women are mostly incapable of …. already gives me the ideas of what kind of mindset you have.
Posting links is not lazy. This is just one of the many videos i have seen where a former Trump supporter is sorry they voted for him. Why is she miserable and crying? Because she can’t afford anything now and sees he is acting like a Gondor king. And that’s the point I was bringing up, because MOST maga will not admit they are sorry they voted for him because of pride. This woman was not.
