Maybe back many years ago, when black people had to sit at the back of buses and when racism was more prominent, sure. But we do NOT live in those times. If anything, with all the DEI crap and BLM nonsense, I think black people and people of colour have more privilege than white people nowadays. I'm not white, but I'm sick of the victim mentality, especially the victim mentality that black people have, acting as if the people of nowadays are the ones who enslaved their ancestors. And they weren't even the ones enslaved.

And, it's not just race or ethnicity. It could be religion, language, etc.

Basically, when the majority group is in control of things, the majority group can make it more difficult for the minority group. From the minority group's perspective, people in the majority group could be considered as having "(majority group) privilege".

It's that simple. It occurs everywhere on Earth and throughout history because it is human nature.

I never believed it until about 10 years ago when I became really good friends with a couple of black guys and we started going out more. I notice it in restaurants and airports the most and obviously with cops. I'm not afraid of getting pulled over. Then I got into interracial relationships and I saw it more and I hear comments that show that there still is a lot of racism. It's sad but real.

When I'm in Asia away from the bigger cities, half the time I don't even wait in lines. If I'm in line to pay admission, I've had people come out to take my money and escort me to the entrance so I don't have to wait, or at a restaurant, they seat me right away and ignore all the people in front of me.

I do believe that white applicants for things, on the average, will tend to surpass the standards set for the assignment than Latinos and blacks. Not because they're white. But because the standards have previously been set. This is not privilege. This is merit.
