Political Compass series: Question 2
Support for my country and support for the immoral cretins who lead it are two different things. I will oppose the shit out of bad policies. That is called true patriotism and it's the job of every citizen.
I hear you and agree, but I intended the question to imply that if the leaders making the decisions at the top are wrong in your opinion, would you still support the country, knowing you cannot make a difference to their policies?
I will always support the Constitution and values embodied in the Declaration of Independence. I don't want harm to come to this land or the people. I love liberty and independence, and will oppose globalism and tyranny. I will oppose any government policies or actions that I deem harmful to Americans or people in other lands.
German history suggests no.

I thought about your question and I don't really have an answer but I'm answering anyway. I mean what does "support" even look like? If the political leaders are doing what I approve of I sit on my lazy ass and say "Yay! My country is great!" and if they're doing what I disapprove of , I sit on my lazy ass and say, "Boo! This country sux!" ?
I mean, it doesn't really work that way for me. I support the spirit of country and the people who live and die here no matter their beliefs.
I will always support my country but that doesn't mean that I also support current political leadership.
Pretty sure you can't choose both 😂 You either support your country or you don't
That's the whole point of this question. Even if the leaders are making choices you disagree with, would you support it?
Supporting my country means doing what is best for it's future and it's people. And that can also include protesting against corrupt, incompetent leadership running your country into the ground.
Let's say it's a multiple choice question (it literally is on the political compass test). Which of the options are you choosing? And you can't choose every answer.
I said already in my initial answer that I'll always support my country. It's just important to understand what support means.
To give an example, if I were US citizen, would I support whatever the fuck that monkey tried to achieve with Greenland? Absolutely not because starting wars or trade wars with your allies and destroying the relationships to dozens of other countries over some resources would hurt my country immensely in the future. So I would fight for that to stop and not support that madness.
It's the same as in a relationship. I will always try to support my partner, but that doesn't mean that I'll say blindly yes to everything they do. If my partner has a difficult phase in their life and start with alcohol, I don't support them by buying them more alcohol. I stop them and try to show them the right path.
I understand what you're saying and I'm not against it. If anything, I agree with you. You're saying you would want to change your country from the bad leadership, but you'd always support it. But in this specific scenario, I'm saying that option does not exist. You either support your country even though you know it's in the morally incorrect stance or you do not.
I don't agree, the world isn't black and white. If it's just a hypothetical example for the sake of this question, then I guess it's a no.
That's exactly what I've been trying to say. That it's hypothetical, as all of the questions I post on the political compass test will be in the future. Thank you for answering.
Hawk, behave. there's no rule that’s all or nothing
@blackeagle007 It's not a rule for life. But it's a rule for the question 😂 When you're answering a multiple-choice question, you can't fill out every answer.
A lot of people don't realize that it is not the country that is wrong it is the people running it at any given time. How silly to "take a knee" at a ball game because you think there is police brutality in your country. If you had any sense you'd be attacking police brutality not your country. Of course the people doing that were communist revolutionaries who hated the country but hypothetically speaking that's how silly such a a stance would be.
Yes, definitely, I'm born here and I plan to live all my life here so yes I would always support it there's no point in not supporting it anyway as I plan to live here all my life.
I support the human race before supporting our country. To a limited extent, I support life before supporting humans.
Life before humans? What does that mean? Are humans not life? Are you referring to plants and other animals?
No, that's why protesting is very important.
The ones saying no, need to leave and find a new country then.
