I know Pakistanis worship us, but this question is mainly for you.
Do you see us as a political threat? The second-largest military in NATO is not a threat; it provides security for you.
Is it our history that bothers you? It's true that we once reached Vienna, but the British and the French also fought each other for centuries. Besides, Protestantism spread in Germany and Hungary thanks to us; we were their protectors.
Do you find us antisemitic? Jews lived most comfortably under Muslim states throughout history. Those who fled the massacre in Spain preferred the Ottoman lands for this reason.
Is it Islam that bothers you? Turkey was the seat of the Caliphate and today is a state respected by Muslims around the world. If you want to dominate the Middle East, Turkey is an asset thanks to its proxy role; Greece cannot do that.
Is it because of crime-prone immigrants? In fact, they commit fewer crimes than citizens of Western countries.
Do you hate Erdoğan? His famous saying is, "The world is bigger than five." (The number "5" refers to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council with veto power: the United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, and France.) He defends the rights of the oppressed.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand it.
It's pretty simple, most people in Turkey are Muslim, and Turkey is often viewed as a culturally conservative, developing, or "third-world" country by some people.
Anyone with basic empathy should be able to understand this just by looking at how many people in Turkey—including both nationalists and some on the political left—don't want Syrian, Afghan, Pakistani, or Arab migrants and refugees, and often look down on them. I remember a friend telling me about someone who refused to rent their apartment to a Syrian simply because they were Syrian and assumed they were Arab.
Likewise, if a Turk moves to Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, or another country, it's not surprising that they may encounter people who look down on them or even dislike them.
What I don't understand is why so many Turks try so hard to win over people who dislike them. Everyone has the freedom to dislike others, as long as they don't harm or violate anyone's rights.
Turkey is a mild example of Islam. Saudi Arabia or Iraq is where Muslim extremists are. Places like that. If Europe were to turn Muslim it would be a milder version of Turkey. Also respect for not letting that plague ship full of homosexuals dock at Turkey.
I think with respect to Nato there are questions on Turkey's reliability. Turkey's proximity to Russia probably necessitates more conciliatory politics.
Within the EU there is free movement of people. As Turkey has a large population with much lower per capita GDP it would be far too disruptive to allow that to Turks.
And there is a cultural aspect as well. Islam is a significant part of that. Muslims do seem to find it hard to integrate into Western culture.
It’s because you are constantly asking for validation, like here. 🙄
