I wonder about the men who are disagreeing with this. They're likely the same ill-informed guys who regurgitate the "minorities just want free stuff and don't want to work" shit along with "blacks are the biggest recipients of welfare and snap and just make babies so they can get more money".
The money spend on the Iran war in one week ALONE would have got:
* every homeless person in the USA off the streets and into housing
* every VETERAN who needed help into a program
* every child in every school in the COUNTRY free lunches for a year
* every teacher in the country a 20% raise
... and that's just the start of it.
Instead, BILLIONS of dollars went into the pockets of companies supplying munitions, arms, security and energy who were all, so coincidentally, aligned with Trump and Project 2025. Not only the direct money, but the long and short money on stocks as well. All the while every metric of living expenses continues to rise in the USA, while magats-on-crack continue to cower at the feet of their sexual assaulting hero, who is barely capable of speaking coherent sentences any longer.
Remember, crack head magats, how immigrants were destroying your world, and your jobs, and your country, and blah, blah, blah? Now you're paying BILLIONS to private companies to house them illegally in prisons for days and months while the landlords get paid with YOUR tax dollars, and then ship them out like slaves at YOUR expense?
This is your doing, and wow, doesn't your bottom line look SO MUCH BETTER now? Don't you just LOVE those AI data surveillance centers raising the cost of your electricity, killing your groundwater supply, and the constant noise? Are you great again like your master promised?
That’s more true than most people want to admit. There is absolutely no shortage of anything and there never has been, ever. The problem is that we allow people with great wealth to own and control everything for the purpose of enriching themselves almost exclusively.
This is also the reason that we transitioned to supply side economics. Demand means almost nothing anymore because, while we theoretically outlawed monopolies, we don’t consider it a monopoly to allow two people or corporations to own the vast majority of any given market and collude to artificially inflate their prices. This is especially true of people and companies so wealthy that they directly influence lawmakers to legislate in their favor. Even if every voter in the US agreed, and they don’t, the laws will never change because of the Tweed principle.
Productivity will fall immensely of working class don't have to wage slave their existence. Ergo poverty and living on edge of social minimum is highest system priority.
Of course this system has a gigantic flaw, people who don't earn much won't buy scam priced cars, houses and Iphones... etc. However elites decided to ride this daying horse as long as they can instead healing or killing it.
All 3 completely free might be pushing it but there's some truth to it, yes.

""We have the resources to provide. . ." if we raise the income tax rates by how much?
Wholly unnecessary. There are plenty of resources already. All we have to do stop allowing the wealthiest people and companies to control everything for profit.
@Chazmatazz269 You don't believe in a capitalist economy? So, if you are going to take all the money from people who have accumulated wealth. . . what do you do when that money is consumed and you need more money?
How about we actually get something of value for our tax dollars we put in for a change? We spend upwards of 980 billion to 1.15 trillion dollars every year on "defense." Is that really necessary? We could cut back military spending significantly, and still be number #1 in the world. With just a small fraction of that spending, we could get everyone on the streets into permanent housing, and give all working class Americans a much needed and deserved pay increase.
@OlderAndWiser are you aware that 2/3 of jobs in the US pay under the median salary? Nobody who is out here busting their ass deserves to be making $19 or $20 bucks an hour. Those types of wages barely cover the costs of groceries and keeping a roof over your head. And we're not talking about kids either. Many adults are being paid wages like this.
You are spewing "facts" that you don't understand. Do you know what "median" means?
"The median of a set of numbers is the value separating the higher half from the lower half of a data sample, a population, or a probability distribution." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median
Therefore,1/2 of all jobs are under the median salary, and 1/2 of all jobs pay above the median salary. You should try to understand facts instead of blindly repeating "facts" simply because they sound good for your argument,
Aside from that point, I do not believe in using the power of government to take something from one person to give it to another who someone else deems to be worthy. I do believe in charity and benevolence on a voluntary basis, but not under threat of being sent to prison.
Okay, you are correct. I meant to say "average" instead of "median". Still, you get the gist of the message I was trying to convey.
No thanks.
You can keep the commie pipe dream.
It brings nothing but scarcity, and misery.
This idea of somehow everyone effortlessly eating and being taken care of will NEVER work.
Someone needs to grow the food.
Someone needs to take up medicine.
Someone needs to build the houses and all the infrastructure that goes with it.
And nobody will do that without some form if incentive or compensation.
So once all of these are needed for free and there’s no one there to do them you end up 1990 soviet Russia:
Empty stores, rations, starvation, strangers packed into the existing small housing. And so on.
This isn’t a path generosity and altruism.
It’s a path of total destruction.
I guess you like having high taxes and high costs of living for next to nothing in return from the government. Suppose you are a fan of the most expensive healthcare for the worst health outcomes. Lol, no thanks. This isn't communism. It's about Americans actually getting something in return for the money they put in.
Funny how you mention misery, when statistics show Americans are some of least happy on the planet. Places like Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Ireland have some of the happiest people in the world. They actually trust their government, and actually get decent work-life balance.
Or just make so that we the working folk pay less taxes.
Yes that means some social aid programs go un funded.
But without taxes we’d make enough money not to need it.
The best social aid will always be “a job”.
As far as Scandinavia goes.
Go visit.
See it for yourself.
It’s not the utopia they keep telling you about.
You can’t improve your standing in life there.
You are a pack mule since the day you enter adulthood and up until retirement
Over 2/3 of jobs in the US pay less than the median salary. That's fucked. It sort of defeats the whole purpose of even having a job if it doesn't even cover basic living expenses. Oh, and for record, I have already visited.
And THAT is a major problem.
I agree 1000%
The working men and women deserve decent pay.
Greedy and exploitative employers have made that very difficult.
That doesn’t mean the solution is to cover it up by attempting to give them social aid.
Because social aid requires THEM to pay taxes
So now they work for shit money and have to pay half of it to the state.
Can you see how that would only aggravate the problem not solve it
"You can’t improve your standing in life there." Bullshit.
upload.wikimedia.org/.../..._unequal_countries.jpg
@Zack-Bann pack mules only exist in the USA my guy. Reality is in the rest of the developed world, countries actually treat their citizens like human beings.
I'm fine with paying significantly less in taxes. But as long as I am paying them, I want something worthwhile in return.
I disagreed.
For that to work everyone who supplied those resources should have to work for free. Doctors working for free, nurses, farmers, houses would need to be donated (or taken from the owners).
So these people (plus many more) need to work for free…..
BUT 50+ million work age Americans didn’t work at all. Do they enjoy all this free stuff (housing, medical, food ) and sit in their new home and do nothing while everyone else works to keep them in comfort?
At what point does the doctor or nurse just say… I’m staying home too.
The farmer and farm hands get tired of breaking their backs just to receive the same stuff that the 50+ million are getting for doing nothing.
This is called communism and has never really worked unless you have a gun to your head to keep working.
I mean, seriously, does @BadApple69 think soldiers work for nothing?
Like that *
You leftist want everything for free…. I’m glad you realize that all the people who do the work deserve to get paid. You realize that doctors in China and Cuba get a government salary. Doctors in Cuba make $40-$150 a month.
That’s worth going to school for 7 years so you can make $150 a month.
If you are a top notch doctor in China you can make as much as $92,000 a year… not bad. A top sanitation worker in NYC only makes $3000 dollars more than a doctor in a communist country or $93,000 more than a doctor in Cuba.
So bring on the communism. Ignorant morons like you could easily pull in maybe $20-$30 a month… you’ll be living large in your communist hell holes.
And that is how it works.
Are you aware the US government already spends more per capita than most countries with universal health care? Countries where bankruptcies from health emergencies are unknown.
Have you considered that you might be being ripped off?
ourworldindata.org/.../the-united-states-spends-a-lot-more-on-healthcare-per-person-than-other-g7-nations
Your country can afford to pay doctors more than $150 a month.
Yes, you are. Of course doctors aren't going to making "$150 per month in the wealthiest nation in the history of the world", it's "the wealthiest nation in the history of the world". Only a moron would claim that or even that they wouldn't be paid at all.
Do you think soldiers, sailors, or public defenders are paid nothing?
I love debating retards…. You humor me. Thanks for being the retards you are.
@BadApple69 you can rest assured, we think the same of you dipshit
Not all but you could easily do it for every legal citizen of US, or UK etc these countries have so much wealth it could easily be achievable the structure for it already exists.
Especially in UK, free healthcare pretty much exists, I just got a flat that ya know the government is paying for, and food well food banks exist not that I use them but I could if wanted too.
If that's already accessible to me? Why wouldn't it be for others if government starts to tax rich a bit more and stopped funding bad ideas nobody wants like Digital IDs?
The only reason not to do so is cause ya know the leaders are rich... and don't want more tax and want more control through bs ideas nobody wants.
Even free things need funding. And ''resources'' aren't endless.
Greed (and this includes the Americanesian version of capitalism) of course hinders a more fair distribution of stabilizing life conditions. But I don't think it's the only factor that counts here.
One other factor: a sick society 'system' that has forgotten about compassion, solidarity and self restraint.
We still got to be smart about it. I do ultimately think that part is why we as a society shy away from responsibilities.
Greed or profit motivation is supposed to be the neutral force of reality guard rails of responsibility. Government giving a blank check to private businesses to do the dirty work is becoming an issue. The profit motivation is cheating the government and people tax money not actually providing a product or service competitively.
Mostly it's bigotry that keeps rural white voters from electing politicians who will vote for social services and universal health care. And they only hurt themselves. It's the red states where hospitals are closing, where ObGyns are leaving, that have refused Medicaid expansion, that have the least aid for the indigent.
Lol.
These arguments somehow always descend into assertion of absolutes. By and large it is greed that means we have the resources to provide free healthcare, free housing, and free food for all. Yes, you want some redistribution too. Learn to live in the grey.
Spending money attacking other countries for oil is more important than health and well being. It's more important to spend hundreds of billions of dollars so that a country half way around the world can't have nuclear weapons than wouldn't even reach the US. War is more important.
No where in Constitution does it say all Americans should have Housing, clothes, Healthcare or food provided by the Gov't. Churches and charities job is to do that. Not taxpayers. People must also be responsible with their money. Not Gamble it away, or buy drugs, or have 20 kids, or buy expensive cars. You have a right to a liveable wage , but not housing, healthcare, car, or Food.
Ok stop eating then
I my wife and I worked very hard to provide a nice home, healthy food and adequate health are for our family. Why do we need to pay for somebody else who does t feel like working a 9 to 5 job and instead would rather go to anti ICE demonstrations
Under Republican President Reagan? Minimum wage was worth about twice what it is now, Unemployment peaked at 10%, true, but it peaked at 14% under Trump.
Things for this generation are worse because there are fewer people in unions, there's the "gig economy", which means paying crap and not providing for people's futures. AI is a solution to the "problem" of paying people for their time.
"This month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the labor participation rate — the percentage of people of working age who are working or actively looking for work — is now down to 61.5 percent. That’s 0.6 percentage points lower than it was at the first of the year.
In other words, the U. S. economy has lost 1 million workers since January.
It’s the lowest level of labor participation in 50 years outside the pandemic."
robertreich.substack.com/.../the-incredibly-shrinking-american
@goaded And yet unemployment has been in the 4% range. What this means is that we have a million people that don't feel like working a 9-5 job. Robert Reich is right about the participation rate hen is assbackwards on the cause.
There are plenty of jobs but not for Gender Studies majors. Its much easier to be in moms basement and whine about it.
Take $ putninto political campaigns and build foundations for eceryone that failed. But it be a mess in short time.
Well, maybe rephrase it to „publicly funded mandatory healthcare, subsidized social housing and affordable food.“
That is my money they are giving away. Let commie Mamdani liquidate all his holdings and family holdings and donate them all to his communist project. Have it all verified by a third party that he did this, so we know he is not lying as usual
The amount of resources needed for "free" anything is a literal infinite supply. Unless you make it impossible for others to get to the infinite supply, there is no such thing as being greedy.
Nothing is free. Somebody somewhere is paying for it.
I agree, Greed is what's standing in the way.
Free just means you make other people pay for it. There is no free. It is unfair to them
Do you like getting nothing for your tax dollars?
Canada is doing better than the US
Lmao, I'm the opposite of lazy pal. You don't know jack shit about me. Assuming stuff about a stranger because of a post on gag makes you look like an imbecile. The US has by a mile the worst healthcare system in the developed world.
That's because you're an idiot
Lol 😂
When are you taking your comedy show on the road?
They're not my words jackass. It's something I saw a Reddit user posting. Notice how I put them in quotes? Once again, you look like an absolute clown. I'm no beggar. I have a fantastic job and live in a beautiful home in a very nice neighborhood
That's correct mister. I work in the trucking industry. I have plenty of money. I'm not getting into a pissing contest with you because I'm not insecure
Trucking… I worked in the Fortune 500 Headquarters for many major firms, had direct reports in the US and Europe and dotted line reports on 6 continents. I have had W2s with 7 figures, by a lot. Rich is people who have $3 million plus net worth, wealthy people have $5 million net work or more. I am wealthy. And you called me idiot. Laughable. Go back to begging.
Having money doesn't disqualify you from being an idiot. You can have a phd and still be a complete fucking moron. What's "laughable" is you assuming that I'm a beggar because of a gag post. Now go enjoy your alleged money. No amount of money will change the fact that you are a fool.
I will enjoy my alleged money as I spend 100 days on cruises in the next 8 months. Transatlantic to Africa and Europe. Transpacific from US to Australia. And then from the tip of South Africa to Europe. Many, many stops along the way. Unlike your stops to refuel.
I’de say I will think of you while out there but I think we both know that won’t happen.
We don't not with current global overpopulation
Cull back to a billion or 2 and then you might have enough to go around but people would need permission to breed and limited on how many that results in
I completely agree, but the people who are obsessed with accumulating as much money as they can will totally disagree. They think they deserve everything and others deserve nothing.
Agree why you think their no war on homelessness? Their no money in it.
There’s plenty of money in “fighting” homelessness. Just ask Gavin Newsome. There’s not money in fixing the problem.
We do, but if i vote for you to get it I would have to wait longer to see my doctor. I prefer seeing the doctor first because of my wealth.
It doesn't matter what i do which is why I am not even going to try and vote. Trump was too aggressive with his capitalism.
I wanted Ron DeSantis because he is not a dinosaur and he moves intelligently and he has a degree from Harvard. In Trumps first term we didn't need to worry about geo politics, so it was fine.
But now most likely it'll be AOC or Jon Ossoff 2028. So you might get the free health care anyways.
People had enough of the rich and greedy, just look at luigi mangione. So the only safe way for people with money to survive is to surrender and give you workers unions, free Healthcare, and affordable housing.
The Republican party is done after Mid-terms or 2028 elections for the next 40 years it will be independent vs democracy after trump is out of office.
So it doesn't matter I lose. I know when to admit defeat and accept humiliation I am not one of the sheep who mindlessly follows someone who tries to appeals to my emotions. I wanted DeSantis and I voted Jill Stein for 2024.
Great idea. let’s start by you coming over and fix up my deck.
Not exactly free, but it can be much much better. You are very close to being right 100%
Not now you don't.
Oh yes the fuck we do
Who pays for it? You first.
Nothing is free there is always a cost.
YEAH, BUDDY !!!
@Kingofkings1992 fully agree
