Unions are not to blame for any of it. Unions do NOT run skools to any extent. At the bargaining table, the skool board sits on one side and the union representatives sit on the opposite side. They are literally on OPPOSITE sides of the dynamic.

The teachers union is a big democrat donor so they get policies that benefit the teachers and not necessarily the students.
I have a great health insurance plan. I pay a little extra for the so called Cadillac plan but my wife is a cancer survivor so we cot a plan where you csn go to any hospital and see any doctor.
I had a total hip replacement last January. I had to wait 4 week to get the surgery but my out of pocket expense was 20 bucks. It included 12 weeks of physical therapy.

A child who had demonstrated violence multiple times and had brought a gun to skool multiple times to threaten teachers ended up shooting a teacher twice. The skool did NOTHING about complaints and warnings from MULTIPLE teachers.
Seems like that’s exactly what you want. Teachers choose between quitting, being fired, or being murdered by kids that YOU want us to believe have no protections.
Well, you got your way. After this shooting, multiple teachers did quit. That’s what is best for everyone, right?

Congress has its own health care and retirement systems. Neither Medicare nor Social Security apply to them. They passed legislation a long time ago that exempted Congress, knowing full well, that the systems for everyone else are eventually doomed to fail.

The healthcare field makes up 14.5% to i've heard reports as high as 19% of ALL U. S. jobs. And that includes pharmaceuticals and insurance. I don't think there's a chance in the pit of HADES we ever end up with medicare for all anytime soon. Because to do that would be to take a machete to much of these jobs.

Your legislators should finally realize that competition doesn't work in an oligopoly like healthcare. Your systems are missing the most important component - strong federal regulation of prices. There is a reason why we are only paying 20-25% of your prices, the federal regulators simply told our pharmaceutical companies to accept the reimbursement prices or go elsewhere. An generic asthma inhaler costs 5 bucks to produce and gets sold here for ~45 Euros, in the United States you or your insurance gets ripped off at 200-250 dollars, which is ridiculous. You dig?
