Am I the only person who feels this way?
Is there anybody else out there who get asked for directions quite frequently in public?
Perhaps you come across as intelligent, "this chick knows her way around/ really gets around" etc. and either they think you know how to get anywhere or they think you're so darn hot that it makes a good conversation starter. The simple direction is: GET LOST.
It's like last year. Someone asked for directions to such and such a landmark. Specifics I forget but I simply said, "turn around" and he was there. I don't know about some people. Get a T-shirt that says "don't ask me; I'm lost too!"
Or sell maps at a profit.
Yeah none of these are totally serious (except the "GET LOST" one) but I don't know about some people. Maybe I'm not so dumb after all. And obviously, neither are you.
If you live in a touristy area (California, Florida, hawaii, Capital cities of countries) there will (surprise) be a lot of tourists asking around for directions. Like, a stream of them. You will always end up getting a few to ask you (because there's always a probability of that happening, and it's higher in your area). If you live in a quiet suburb, maybe it's on the way to the airport or downtown. People don't just say "oh let's all go to this place for vacation and ask her for directions."
You look approachable, like you wouldn't just tell some random to f&*# off.
Argh... I hate looking so friendly.
