Hypothetically, would this be enough to transmit the disease, or would it have to bleed? Not even sure it was a needle / syringe though..
Thnx
Well, where was it? If you were rooting through a dumpster, it's not unlikely. If you were at your nearby Junk Den for the Sexually Disenfranchised, then it's probably likely. But if you were walking around like, a hospital supplies store, I'd say you're safe.
It couldn't hurt to get tested, anyway... It's not *that* likely I don't think though, I mean I wouldn't fret. You didn't inject anything, most it'd have been was a few seconds - and the likelihood of that person having HIV isn't particularly massive, it isn't actually rife in the heroin community like people think.
I was playing football (soccer) :D and fell, and landed in a hedge, and I couldn't really feel anything special besides the pain you feel normally feel from falling. Though when I looked on my arm, I had a very very tiny reddish dot in the middle of my arm. Wondering if it could be a needle or if it's too big and would create a larger prick? ;O
Aaah. In a bush, well... Yeah, the kind of nutcase who discards of their needles in public parks could very well have HIV. I dunno, I mean it could have easily been a bramble thorn or something - I don't know why your first thought would be SYRINGE... Needles come in all sizes, from the 6mm hypo to the 30mm IV, so you can't really judge from the size.
But it was very tiny. Around 1-2 mm. But maybe it could have been the tip of it only that touched? :OO
Ohh you actually saw it?
No, I meant the prick. :P
Oh... You're taking this threat of HIV pretty well, huh. :OO :P :D
Huh? What do you mean? D: I just meant that the prick was very tiny, but you still think it couldve been a needle e? :o
Are you by the way a doctor or something? :-D
I mean your smilies, LOL. And; ohh. It could have been a needle, but if you just fell into a bush, it's much more likely to be a thorn or some glass or something. And; LOL, I'm not a doctor no! I'm a narcotics user and a diabetic.
Well, it was at my school, and they have found syringes in the hedge before. That's why I'm a bit woried. However, it's around 6-8 weeks since, and the last, well, 5 days, I've had a little sore throat and joint aching and also a little headache / stomach pain.. I read about the early symptoms of hiv / hepatitis c and thought it might've been a syringe. But I do have a bit of OCD and am quite worried about that in general.
The size of the prick was really small though:OO
Ooh. Well, go to the doctor at least, then. Better safe than sorry and all...
Where did this happen? And did you step on it or do you think is stabbed you in the arm, I am a little confused about this.
Go to the doctors, if you are afraid of HIV it can take up to 6 mos to detect it. You could also try calling the local Health Department.
I fell into a hedge / landed on the ground, and when I pulled up my shirt (I think) I had a very tiny reddish dot and a little scratch leading up to it like the white line when you scratch your arm. I just want to know if needles will make a bigger "hole" than what I had, and if you can get a disease if it doesn't bleed ;o
oh no! Please go see a doctor a.s.a.p! Used syringes are nasty and they are one of the easiest ways to get diseases! Make an appointment right this second!
You don't have to bleed in order to transmit disease. I just texted my mom who's a nurse and asked her.
Are you sure about that? Also, how big is a normal needle prick? The dot I had was very small. :ozz
