It is really one of three things.
One: She realizes that she misses you and wants to get you back.
Two: She is ready to move on with your past relationship and yours and wants to be friends.
Three: She is being a nosey ex and wants to keep tabs on you and what you're up to in your life.
Out of all those possibilities I'd say
option 1: 25%
option 2: 25%
option 3: 50%
Its a natural instinct that once you break up with someone, you want to know that you're better off than the other person. I may be completely wrong and she may have the best intentions however, psychologically it is more likely option 3.

I went through this too. I used to look at my ex's profile all the time to see if he met someone new or was talking crap about me to his friends on his wall and I would constantly check so I deleted him so I wouldn't be tempted anymore and right after he notices this, he added me back. Knowing him and how he is so possessive, he probably was doing the same thing with me and wanted to see if I was dating anyone so that's probably why.
maybe she's simply ready to be friends with you? she moved on or really just want to see what you are up too.
the thing about fb is we " don't have to confirm" the friend request" if it still bothers you to see her updates then just don't respond.
Maybe:
1. She just wants to be in touch
2. She is inquisitive to know how you are faring without her
3. She is inquisitive to know who you are in touch with and / or if you have another girlfriend
4. She wants to get back and this could be her 1st step to it
5. etc
She wants to know what you're up to.. you should delete her again

she's either completely over you & wants to be friends or she misses you & still has feelings for you & wants to try to approach you to see if you feel the same way
Maybe cause she wants to be friend with you or she probably misses you and thinks about you
Maybe she misses you, or just wants to be friends... idk.
she wants you back or misses you or wants to see if you are in a relationship/stalk you or maybe just be your friend
