Guys, do you want a "traditional" wife or progressive wife?

Question

By traditional, I mean she's likely educated, well-spoken but she's a stay at home mother who takes care of the children, cooks and cleans for you. So you come home to a clean house and a meal. She's not a Peggy Bundy haha.

You're the sole source of income, though she might work an easy part time job.

By progressive, I mean well-educated, well-spoken, she has a bachelors degree or higher for her career field, she maintains her career as a working woman through motherhood and you will both split the household chores, cooking and cleaning. You're both bringing in a fairly good income, so she's not dependent on you. She's independent.

I don't mean to make this about either extreme nor an I trying to put down either side.

I would love a progressive wife. I think you just described the perfect wife. There is something so attractive about an ambitious woman. I look at my mother. She has worked her way (Masters)  to as high  a job as she wanted. She drives a Mercedes she bought herself. She owns a separate home she rents out. If she ever left my dad she wouldn't need any alimony or support. They are a team though. When we were younger she stayed at home more but as soon as we got older my dad took more responsibility so that my mother could shine. They share the bills and they are both respected equally whenever they are out together. I want that too. I want my wife to have something in her life beside her family to be proud of.

Somewhere in-between.  I'd prefer one that is adaptable.  If the situation we're in allows her to have a career life, then by all means.  The extra income would mean that during time off, there'd be more money to do fun things.  If not, then time away from work shouldn't be the end of her either.

Probably progressive, again I don't expect a partner to be progressive. But it's generally the attitude and kind of person I'm more drawn towards. I also think it's a more logical and stable way to live, at the same time I'm not expecting a partner to fit into some kind of 1930's stereotype of being a housewife.

The progressive woman sounds more engaging, and the mutual respect/relationship where we share the duties sounds a lot better to me than just having a housemaid

I prefer a progressive. If she can continue to make me a better guy and I can make her better than that is just awesome. I despise the whole trophy wife idea and I don't understand why girls keep falling into it. I'm the type of guy who will feel useless if I can't continuously make you better.

I would like her to be educated and have a good (part time) career, but still be able to look after the children after school and at weekends etc. So I guess... a mix of both

Independent women! A woman that works, is a team player. Way I view,  a couple is a team, not the man is head of the house.  If you know any woman that is a hard worker, send her my way!

Progressive for sure. I like an outgoing , spontaneous type woman. I don't think that's a common trait for a traditional one.
