J-Lo absolutely lip-synced the whole time. Almost everyone does at the Superbowl, and almost everyone who dances and sings does (at least for the portions where they dance). This isn't anything new and has been the standard for 40+ years.
These performances are VERY well-rehearsed and the audio engineer will turn up their mics right at the end so they can add some spontaneous words at the end, but don't be fooled - the performances are important, both to the live audience and to the billions watching on TV, so it's recorded in advance so that nothing can go wrong.

At strategic times, the engineer turns up their mic so they can talk and make it seem live, but the rest of the performance is done to the track.
One very obvious tell-tale is that neither of them were wearing IEMs (in-ear monitors), and there's no way they could have monitor speakers on that kind of stage, so they literally wouldn't have been able to hear themselves sing, which means they wouldn't be able to sing in tune with the music. When people are really singing live, they are either standing in front of "wedges" (monitor speakers at their feet with a feed of their vocals, so they can hear their own singing) or they're wearing IEMs.
I think Shakira did better than Jlo simply because she really like to perform as singer and put on a show at the same time I admire her breathing and siñg spot on and I know I worked in Record Plant in NYC for 1 year but got calls to tour more but I played with some Great Stars of the Days I was doing that
They were both incredible. The thing is jlo was a lot more production and backup dancers while shakira danced through most of her performance, sang, played the drums, the guitar, etc. Both of them had a great stage presence and don't get me wrong jlo was amazing especially when she was pole dancing but shakira really took her soul out and showed all her multi talents on that stage. What i'm trying to say is that shakira even without all the backup dancers would have still been amazing so for all of that in my opinion shakira was better.

Shakira for me, I get JLo is 50 but when it comes down to it performance wise energy won it. Besides i've never been a huge JLo fan anyway, not that i'm a huge Shakira fan but I prefer her songs.
