No its not. Its only immature if you are playing it instead of doing your responsibilities, or spending quality and important time with your SO. If you are married or in a committed relationship, or even singe, and you have free time, and you play video games in your free time, then its totally ok and not Immature at all
Gaming is a hobby. Same as stamp collecting, sewing, or reading. You should do it in your free time when you finished all your essential tasks. There is NO age limit on gaming.
The only bad side to gaming is it's addiction. People will get so lost in gaming they forget reality. I play video games from time to time (not a hardcore gamer) for fun and stress reliever.
As long as your HOBBY doesn't control you, it's not a problem.
And what do you do when you're bored? Playing video games is the same thing as sitting down and play board games and you wouldn't call that immature would you?
Stating that playing video games is immature without doing the proper research or understanding, is immature in itself. I'd very much prefer a relationship with a gamer than with a non-gamer as I've found that most of them are empathetic, caring, fun, creative, great conversationalists and even more faithful, loyal, kind and intelligent than most non-gamers I've ever met. Better to have someone who is addicted to video games than drugs and sex (like most people who judge gamers...) As long as they're not lazy abusers, I don't see the problem. I'd rather have someone who uses their brain for good, and video games is just one of many great ways to do that. I feel sorry for any gamer who has to deal with a partner who won't allow them to be or enjoy themselves through gaming just 'cause they don't like it themselves or at not any good at it. Non-gamers seem to be very needy too for the most part... Besides, I'd also rather be with someone who plays games and not people...
I voted no, I mean I myself is a gamer and my boyfriend is a gamer, we both work. I study a lot and work a lot, but on days when I don't have to study or work, I just like to play video games all day. If the person is still working or searching for a job. Going to school or whatever, I don't see it being immature. Just like how some people go out to bars, clubs, or anywhere else, you also have the types that likes to stay home and play video games.
I think it depends on the person and their life. It doesn't have to be in my opinion but it can be. It depends on other circumstances though you can't just make a general statement. There's plenty of people who make a living off gaming make youtube videos, stream or whatever and they're mature people and have their shit together. But it can also be someone who doesn't have their life under control and is just wasting time ^^
Its not really commonly seen as immature or a bad side of society with the start of MGTOW pretty much changing. The stereotypes and making it socially accepted to just be a straight up nerd/gamer/caveman.
Society really has just become for the most part numb to the whole gaming aspect.
I havenβt been into video games since my 20s but I would not say itβs immature. Itβs like watching tv or other forms of entertainment. Some people take it too far like a couple that forgot to feed their baby because they were too busy raising a virtual baby in a game. But those people would be retards even if games did not exist.
I enjoy the odd video game now and then, but only the ones I grew up playing like NES or Atari 2600 for nostalgia. Modern games are simply too time consuming.
There are simply too many late-20, mid-30 year olds who still play X-box or whatever is the current system... all day, in their parents basement, and complain that they can't get a good job or afford a home.
I don't go out drinking often. I don't pay for television and sometimes I don't want to read a book. If you want me to go out for a walk in the park or play some sports let's talk about it and go do it.
Otherwise games are or can be a pretty inexpensive hobby to be doing. Either watch, join, or don't.
It's no different then watching TV for me. It didn't stop me working when I left school and now I've gone to university it's not stopping me studying.
I do find it condescending people think it's "immature". Play the last of us or max payne (the first one) then. These games give have hard hitting stories that are engaging. They could easily be films (max payne IS a film based off the game) or books.
Of course not! It's a hobby and i think only people who dislike video games will think it's stupid and immature.😖 to me it's fun and as long as i play video games for hours with my husband or just watch him play in our free time or weekends and we both enjoy it i don't see a problem 😃β€ I think watching movies is immature actually 😂 but i have to sometimes 😂💔
I don't think so, as a kid I used to game because it helped me improving my self esteem, and now I use it just to get entertained whenever I'm going somewhere to work (My job requires sometimes that I stay in some town for weeks, and there's nothing to do there)
There's nothing inherently wrong with it. Some video games have very adult themes that definitely aren't child-friendly. You certainly come across as immature and very stuck up for your failure/unwillingness to accept people like their own things. If a 30 something has a steady job, is paying a mortgage, has a good credit score, I see no problem with him spending his free time as he sees fit if he's not harming anyone.
Nope, gaming can actually teach you stuff, such as reflex and thinking skills. :3
Anyways, gaming is just another form of entertainment. It's the same as other stuff, like watching tv and reading books. Everything has its own good and bad aspects.
It is no more or less immature then any other hobby. Though I am not a big gamer, it seems that it's just another set of past times for those who enjoy them. I am sure that some of my hobbies could be seen as immature as well, but as I enjoy them where is the harm?
My sister is married to somebody and live in their own house, and they're both gamers. I almost always see them playing video games when I visit, and if they're not doing that, they're watching movies or TV shows. And as a gamer myself, a YouTuber no less, I have to say no.

Nope not at all especially when I am 10 hours a day and have about 6 other hobbies.
So if I want to sit down after a long day and play video games for an hour or 2 or 4 I will.
It's no more immature then a woman sitting down and watching a soap opera or their favorite show for hours at a time.
Nope, gaming can actually teach you stuff, such as reflex and thinking skills. :3
Anyways, gaming is just another form of entertainment. It's the same as other stuff, like watching tv and reading books. Everything has its own good and bad aspects.
To be honest, I actually learned English from playing games. XD
i know a few people who i play mmo's with who have learned English solely from playing video games.

What rings you got b****? Don't tell anyone you leveled that up.
What are you, a casual? *uses "well what is it" gesture*
Upvote me if you understand what the hell I'm talking about.
Seriously though, video games are better for you than tv :/ git gud casul.
POWER UP THE BASS CANNON!

That's because you're 17. 21+ shouldn't be wasting their time playing games. I have a Master's degree and a full time job.
So do they.
Being a gamer doesn't mean not having a job or anything. My sister met her husband at Job Corps, for crying out loud.
I don't think so. How is it any worse than sitting around watching tv? Or browsing the internet? It's just another form of entertainment.
