Could real sex changes be a reality in a few years time?

So I was reading about this experiment conducted by the Francis Crick Institute about 3 years ago where they removed a protein from Y chromosomes in male mice which resulted in the mice becoming female (and the reverse happened to the female mice). Anyway this study was aimed at discovering more about sexual development disorders and intersex conditions (my wording isn’t spot on but I’m far from an expert on this). Anyway how could this affect humans? Could it make biological sex changes possible? Love to hear your thoughts on this.

once born, whether or not a person goes through the extensive procedures for gender reassignment they will always be the same gender they were born into, as the procedures only deal with the outside, not the inside of the body... for the most part... so a female to male will always have the womb of a woman... the same biology as a woman, but the appearances of a man... if you paint a brick wall pink does that remove the brick underneath or does it cover over it... ?

in future many decades in the future the only way this would be even possible is if gene manipulation becomes legal and at such a high level that parents would be able to change the gender of their unborn children within the womb... however the moral and ethical shitstorm that that ability would trigger would be next level...

parent or not, no one should have the right to choose another person's fate, and choosing a gender before one is even developed into, is taking a child's life out of that child's hands even before that child has had a chance to grow into their own body...

also imagine if genes can be manipulated, those who should have been a boy, altered before being born to be a girl cos their parents wanted a girl...
if more and more people choose to do this, that could be a major extinction level decision for humanity... like genetic suicide for the while of the human race...

and it is these 2 examples that are the reasoning behind why i believe it will never be accepted nor allowed regardless of when... or how far into the future the genetic manipulation became possible..

I don’t think it’s ethical to change a child’s sex whilst in the womb as I imagine the child would be very disturbed to find out that their sex was changed prior to their birth however if it could be done to adults then I think that’ll help a lot of people who’re either transgender or have an intersex condition.

that's the thing genetic manipulation to alter someone's gender i see this as a very grey area... and some would be able to argue that if can do it, they should be able to do it to get the child they wanted instead...
as for adults what they do with their life is up to them as long as they are 100% upfront with the people they become romantically involved with... however things like this would only be skin deep, they would not be able to give birth, if m to f, they would never experience periods, and as a f to m, they would never be able to father a child... regardless of how the procedure is... as to ensure a more successful change it would have to be done within the womb prior to them fully forming...

as genetic manipulation will open the door for a lot of abuse from others who wish to use it for nefarious means.

It would be crazy but I'm sure nobody would have thought in the past it was possible where we are now with cosmetic surgery so I'd be a little open minded about it

This ain't new technology. They're just now putting it out there because they're trying to bring about a one-world system. This is what the Bible's warning about. These people are playing God. I completely agree with you that there are some who want a world government but I’m open to “playing God” if it actually helps people. That said there has to be a limit which isn’t easy to decide but I’d start with some of the ideas that the likes of Elon Musk and Bill Gates have such as implanting chips into our heads or reanimating dead people which is apparently something Microsoft actually want to do (might do a post on it later).

it is already done today. you can litterally change a babies gender right after birth with hormones. typically today that is done with intersex babies. they will medicate them with hormones to gently push them in the direction of one gender. that is quite rare but causes some moral controversy, as those people can have gender identity issues down the line. however we know that as an intersex person, you have that anyway.

Genes don't really make you man/woman. Your experiences PLUS biological differences do. So getting your genes changed at say 18 or 40 is not at all the same as having it done at say 6 months old.

And there could be massive unexpected side effects like cancer too. Anybody who goes through this change would be gambling their life.

Technically, but I don’t think it means all that much. Blockers and hormones might have a less dangerous alternative but that’s only a small slice of what people argue about on the topic of sex changes.
