I'm old school. I'm a talker although I do text more now then I ever did.
Both have their place but the art of having a good conversation is becoming lost and there are lots of people that can't have a conversation if it's not texting. That makes it hard to have a relationship.111 Reply- +1 y
Yea texting bothers me honestly
- +1 y
Hahaha tempted
- +1 y
Not surprising texting is leading. The art of communication is dying. Is there hope for society? Just the sound of a person's voice can be a turn on and such things are missed with a text. It's not only what is said but how it's said can mean different things. Tests don't convey those differences.
Ps. I'm still waiting to hear your sweet voice! - +1 y
Yes i love to hear someones voice :) and had you watched the new spiderman, you’d have heard mine haha
- +1 y
No im saying that i sent a recording to everyone who watched spiderman so that we could discuss the movie haha

I prefer voice, there is something sexy about hearing someone you like as much as you can. But one thing you can't do with text is really fall asleep with each other after having phone sex and hear them breathing like they are next to you.
12 Reply- +1 y
Omg yes i love fallin asleep on the phone after phone sex! you're so romantic haha

I really enjoy talking to someone on the phone. Back and forth conversations, asking questions, giving feedback, laughing, hearing a person's tone of voice. Sometimes I'll be on the phone for over two hours with my sister or a good friend, just chatting away about whatever comes to mind.
I usually use texting for short messages. I dislike typing long messages. And you have to use emojis to convey you "tone of voice". Lame.11 Reply- +1 y
Yes i love hearing eachother laugh. And honestly emojis are still not enough to explain the tone tbh
+1 yI talk on the phone beacaue people complain that I text too fast. I often end up having more than one conversation with the same person consequently and they get confused and fed up and just leave! 😏
I've made a friend here, they know who they are and I'm desperately trying to hold it down just so I don't ruin what we have. I really appreciate them lol14 Reply- +1 y
Lmao oh yea im a spam texter haha. I hardly give them time to reply
- +1 y
Hahaha that's too funny 🤣🤣🤣 I dunno why I'm like this
- +1 y
Lol im talkin about myself. Its best i just say it all in a recording haha
- +1 y
I'm like this too... My friend and I record messages too now lol

+1 yI dislike talking on phone, and do that only when necessary. Calling someone, or being called, is a disruptive activity, where the caller assumes the person being called is available and not just being interrupted from doing something else. Texting, on the other hand, is not disruptive; it can be read by the receiver whenever they want, right away or hours later.
Yes, I know there are people who must read and reply to every text they get within a minute of receiving it. That's their issue, not mine.06 Reply- +1 y
Texting is extremely disruptive when at work or school. I hate hearing that repetitive vibration or ding (depending on settings). And when i put my phone on silent, i can't tell if they text at all lol. I just feel people should text asking permission to call. Then call
- +1 y
Why is texting disruptive? You can silence your phone so there's no disruption, and then make it a habit to check for texts when you have time. That's what I do. Otherwise, you set your text tone to a simple low volume ding so that you can quickly look at it to see who it's from and make a quick decision of whether you want to read it or not. That's definitely less disruptive than the several loud rings of someone calling you. Note that if you don't answer the call, you don't get any message from them (or maybe voice mail if they tale the time to leave it) while not answering a text still gives the message that they sent you.
- +1 y
Texts take too much effort to respond too. If im at work and trying to sneak and text back, it takes forever. Plus no matter how interesting the person, i often forget i was texting someone. If i miss a call, its usually with good reason and you're not obligated to call back. But with a text, you look rude if you dont respond, especially if read receipts are on
- +1 y
Looking rude if you don't reply right away is the sender's issue, not the receiver's. No one should expect an immediate response to a text. If it's an emergency and you absolutely need a quick response, then call, don't text. As for a text being more difficult... My SO responds to texts by talking to her phone and using the voice-to-text feature. It's much easier than talking on the phone to someone.
- +1 y
I dont mean right away. I mean that i dont wanna text back at all
- +1 y
Nothing wrong with not replying to a text. If the sender thinks that's rude, they need to learn some manners.
+1 yIt seems people have forgotten how to use their mouth at least for talking anyway. Texting is so impersonal people will get angry with you because they don't recognize the tone Maybe that you're trying to express something. You can send a joke they can think your pissed it could be so confusing. Now all they have to do is open their mouth and say a few words or while they got it open they can...
11 Reply- +1 y
Exactly. Talking is easier
If it's going to be a long conversation I rather talk On phone call because when some peeps texts there life story it gets messed up on texting some times it gets misspelled or it's just to long of a texts it's annoying to me lol I'm old school just call me if it's going to be a long ass conversation lol! And I get it peep rather would texts if there shy it more comfortable texting but if I know that person very well that person already knows to call me because u texts me Sometimes u are not getting a reply forever from me if I'm busy lol!
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea i often forget to text back
+1 yPerson to person talking. You get your point across better, you can hear the emotion in their voice. You know if their being sarcastic, or a dick, how important something is to them. All things you need for good communication.
13 Reply- +1 y
I hate sarcasm in general but especially by text
- +1 y
How do you know it's sarcasm? Maybe they didn't understand something. But you can always tell in their voice.
- +1 y
Plus you can tell if you hurt their feelings or turning them on!
+1 yI prefer talking over texting. I made a similar question a while back. I do text bit i don't text back and forth 60 times when i can make a call talk for 1 min and ot's all done.
21 Reply- +1 y
Yea its so much easier to call
+1 yI selected the third option, but if nothing can be managed then switch to text and even if not then to calls.
My very first preference is email, and I check them like once every two days only.11 Reply- +1 y
If it wasn't for work, i check emails maybe once a year
I prefer talking, texting is alright but talking it's quicker and you can actually tell how that person is by their voice with texting it can go either way so i prefer talking over via phone
15 Reply- +1 y
Yea same. But im expecting most men to choose text
- +1 y
Even in general, dudes dont be wanting to talk on the phone. They be like “text me” and i never do cause im a horrible texter haha
- +1 y
Thats true and preferred
+1 yEach has its purpose...
I use text to send a message to which the answer isn't urgent.
Talking for quick conversations and with people you can't meet in person.
Face to face whenever possible.11 Reply- +1 y

m +1 yI very much prefer to talk with people so... that I do
31 Reply- +1 y
Ahh ok
Talker - but then I'm old enough to remember a time before mobile phones and the internet.
I never really quite got the hang of texting either, so my messages always end up as 5000 word essays with flawless grammar - and then people feel like they have to set aside about an hour of their time later in the day, just to read them, never mind fully replying!01 Reply- +1 y
Hahaha i’d hate reading that but intype a lot too 😂
+1 yWhen I'm working, I like texting as I can't take phone calls as easily. For friends I like texting, and chatting but for my boyfriend I want to hear his voice and love to talk directly to him.
For family, usually talk as they are kind of slow as texting... might take them a few days to respond to each message.02 Reply- +1 y
Days to respond? Good Lord
- +1 y
I'm the 2nd youngest, so the older ones are not as tech savvy or into texting as much.
I like texting more. I only talk on the phone with one person. Or when I have to for business or so.
16 Reply- +1 y
Ahhh whos the one person? A parent?
- +1 y
I feel like if theyve seen me in person before, they ain't seeing me again lmao (in terms of video)
- +1 y
Im not being scary. Why video someone who already knows me
I have become a tester for simple things, simple questions. It’s easier and faster
14 Reply- +1 y
Texting is not faster lmao
- +1 y
Both are rude
Talking with random GIFs and Music sent throughout the day.

04 Reply- +1 y
Lol i like gifs to an extent. More so when flirting
+1 yI get more texts, so I text more often. I prefer to talk.
11 Reply- +1 y
Just let em
Know you prefer to talk
The only people who should ever call me is, my dr or my job. No one else is allowed to. I don’t like the way I sound on the phone. And I don’t like talking.
12 Reply- +1 y
Lmao damn
Pretty even between the two honestly not really partial to either.
12 Reply- +1 y
But which makes you feel more alive lol

Talker. I can't always get my message across in texts..
22 Reply- +1 y
Right. Either j run out if characters or they dont understand my tone of voice lol
- +1 y
you're a Big talker heh :P
Texter for sure. I hate using my voice. I try to minimize its use as much as I can.
13 Reply- +1 y
Do you just hate using your voice or do you not like the sound of your voice?
- +1 y
Both. I've always had a very dull, deep, monotonous voice, but due to an unfortunate mishap a couple years ago, I lost the use of a vocal chord, which makes speaking somewhat taxing physically, which can lead to emotional distress. So I try to limit how much I speak, which has its own issues 😣
- +1 y
Aww well im glad you’re okay for the most part
+1 yYeah I a more of a like to talk than text. Sometimes there can be a misunderstanding when texting with because you don't know how or time they are saying it. I thought one girl was talking to me normally but she was trying to flirt and be seductive with me but I didn't know.
01 Reply- +1 y
Lmao yea its hard to read
Texting. I'm too shy.
Texting > Talking > Meeting in Person
Even after we get to know one another, that's my preferred order.
And I don't like it when people send a lot of voice messages (because I don't trust what's in it 🤣 I can't listen to it without earphones)02 Reply- +1 y
Lol you dont trust whats in it 😂
+1 yText I can just stop replying when I'm done talking
12 Reply- +1 y
Lmao gone leave em on read 🤣
- +1 y
Yep 🤣 not about to have me on the phone all day. I got shit to do
404 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. Text if I have to. Usually prefer reserving conversation for in person or on mic while gaming.
11 Reply- +1 y
Ahh i see
I'm more comfortable texting. I don't like sounds much that I why I try to have as silent environment as possible. And if I'm talking otp with you... I will just cut the call directly without asking lol. Don't take it seriously I'm joking.
01 Reply- +1 y
💀🤣
+1 yI prefer talking if it's gonna be a long conversation. If it's just something like, "I'm on my way," then text is preferable, as I'd be listening to the phone ringing for longer than it would take me to type.
01 Reply- +1 y
That makes sense
Texter. Talking only seem to work with people who i already know quite a bit.
11 Reply- +1 y
Ahh so it won't be as awkward yea
If it's important I'll call, but text messages are less intrusive.
12 Reply- +1 y
Unless they blow up your phone with texts
I like talking but I will do the texting thing.
God Bless12 Reply- +1 y
Aww why if you like talking
389 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. I don't even pick up the phone unless I was informed prior and it is absolutely neccesary.
13 Reply- +1 y
Lmaoooo. I’m the same. I ignore a lot of calls and texts unless we agreed to have a convo
- +1 y
Lmao ok boss man
I always lose track of the conversation when calling. Text is better
11 Reply- +1 y
Lol meanwhile I forget im texting
+1 yIf I lived alone, yes I'd rather call more and talk more, because id feel alone so id love to hear voice around
but other than that, around people, and family, I'm a texter01 Reply- +1 y
That makes sense :)
i prefer texting because im not available to call a lot of the time unless it’s scheduled. texting allows me to answer in my own time and think out what i want to say
01 Reply- +1 y
That makes sense
I detest texting. Ten minutes is my phone conversation limit. Okay, 15 minutes, but that's only if it's a call to tell me that I won the Powerball Lottery.
01 Reply- +1 y
Wow 15 mins! I need hours 😂
I prefer talking over texting. Talking feels good to me.
11 Reply- +1 y
Yea i hate talking at work but love talking outside of it haha
+1 yI prefer to text when it's not urgent to get a reply, but phone if I need to know something right away. Also, anything requiring a lengthy explanation is for a call, as is ANYTHING that's highly personal, such as your love life or friendships !!
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea cause people like to sreenshot
+1 yI am ok with texting or talking but would prefer to Vidoeing calling instead. I can find very hard with talking on phone to find a space to talk to. texting is ok but can be come offf completely diffenent.
02 Reply- +1 y
I prefer in person over video chat
- +1 y
somtimes you can't go to person deponding a if a county is in lookdown.
+1 yI hate texting to much is missed. Talking on the phone ain’t much better. Most of human communication is not even verbal believe it or not
03 Reply- +1 y
Then what is it
- +1 y
@DizzyDesii well there’s a formula it’s called 55/38/7 55 percent is Nonvocal 38 is verbal 7 is words only. So when you just text it’s words emojis help but humans communicate mostly nonverbal in the stance body language mannerisms etc. We make a lot of sounds that are not words and words but words themselves are very little of human communication
- +1 y
38 is vocal not verbal sorry typo
I prefer to talk but since I have no privacy at home I'm forced to text. I can definitely relate to the image you posted on B Lol
02 Reply- +1 y
You dont even have privacy when in your room?
Typically I like to call and talk on the phone. Text is great when I'm not up for vocal chatting, though.
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea text is fine if im in a busier setting
Chatterbox, great expression 👍
Talk and if possible meet. Can't see the facials people are using for texts.
Video chat is OK, but somehow non personal01 Reply- +1 y
Yea vudeo chat is awkward
+1 yI like smoke signals. Just puff a couple times a week to make sure they're all still alive.
02 Reply- +1 y
Lmao what
- +1 y
I was in a silly mood. 🤣
+1 yTexter if I’m not close to them, taller if I am close to the person
02 Reply- +1 y
*talker
- +1 y
Makes sense
+1 yI'm definitely more of a texter. I was always a better writer than talker. In person, I'm quiet. Unless you get me going on a passion.
I like to listen.02 Reply- +1 y
They should definitely get you going on a passion :)
- +1 y
Maybe one day soon. Never know. I'll just go on a rant.
I'm more of a texter.
12 Reply- +1 y
Are you the quiet type in person?
+1 yI would rather text. Sometimes I do not know how to tell people I need to go. Even my mom does not know when to stop talking at times. Sorry to say.
02 Reply- +1 y
But you can disconnect phone calls. Its hard to tell someone you can't text rn cause they expect you to text later 😂
- +1 y
True.
+1 ySo much easier to talk. I only text when i have to. Text can be misunderstood on both ends. Especially with me 🤣
02 Reply- +1 y
Most times its misunderstood
- +1 y
Exactly. What one writes in a text can mean something completly different for the reader of the text
Texter. I hate when people call me.
21 Reply- +1 y
Lol i only hate it if im watchin a tv show
Was mostly texter... now its more talk either voice/video call or voice notes
04 Reply- +1 y

02 Reply- +1 y
Thats adorable that u talk a lot
- +1 y
Thanks, I can talk about anything so I guess I keep them on the phone to long 😊
+1 yI prefer talking a lot, that is by the normal phone calls when it comes to using the social media platform playgrounds ama be legit texyer then @DizzyDesii
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea i dont use social media outside of GAG
Split 3 ways, text. talk and e-mail.
11 Reply- +1 y
I only use email for work or back in school. I never use it otherwise
+1 yBecause I have huge hands, I can only text with my pinky so definitely a talker.
11 Reply- +1 y
Lmao ummwow
+1 ySometimes neither. But let's face it, talking is way easier.
02 Reply- +1 y
Yea in my opinion
- +1 y
And it has a plus: you know you are the one having the other person's undivided attention...
I'm definitely a texter but I like to hear my boyfriend's voice so I could listen to him for hours too bad he doesn't like to call much
