If you had to choose, which Computer Monitor would you pick?

60 hz but 4k/UHD Resolution.

144+ hz but only full HD (1080p) Resolution.

Whichever is the cheapest... The 144 hz is generally cheaper right? Smoothness is also a bit more appreciated by me than resolution. Although it is hard to distinguish both monitors from a 60hz 1080p monitor when you aren't used to higher refresh rates or resolution.

it roughly turns out to cost the same. but having both at once is more expensive. that's why i made this question.

I guess it depends on how much fps you want to run. If it is more than 60 fps it would be wiser to buy the 144 hz monitor.

I chose refresh over resolution because I don't use my computer for movies or tv, therefore the resolution isn't that important to me. The higher refresh rate will just mean a smoother image of whatever I'm reading/researching.

i mean refreshrates will only matter if you have the habit of reading while scrolling xD otherwise for reading, resolution is better.

True, but I do scroll to continue reading and three is an occasional video or image. I'm fine with the 60hz and 1080 really.

I've never found that higher resolutions help with anything I'm doing on my computer, and can in fact cause the computer to use more processing power than necessary, slowing it down more than a 1080 display would.

i personally do enjoy seeing less of the pixles by increasing resolution. but smoother motion is neat too :D

joke is on me. i got a first generation 4k display but they physically updated dhcp 2.0 after the fact so i can't watch 4k on netflix or whatever anways xD

i think it comes out roughly at the same price. 150-200 bucks. tho having both at the same time would be expensive, which is exactly why i have these choices.
