Instagram Business account help: why am I getting likes on a post I deleted?

It’s a confusing situation for me and I’ll try to explain it as best as I can. I’m sorry if my description seems jumbled. I recently made a business account on IG. I posted a new pic and immediately ran an ad on it. I then decided I didn’t want the ad anymore, so I deleted the ad. I then deleted the photo as well. Now, I’m getting notifications that I’m getting likes on a photo. When I click the photo, it’s the Same one I deleted. There’s also a duplicate of the same photo that’s getting likes, but the number of likes on each photo is different? I’m not running any other ads so I’m very confused and concerned if IG is taking my money. Does anyone have experience in this? Thanks!

Hmm that is definitely weird. A few things that could be happening:

- IG caching/glitch - Sometimes when you delete stuff on IG, it takes a bit for the servers to fully remove it from their system. So likes may still come in for a bit on a "deleted" post as people are seeing the old version of it cached somewhere.

- Duplicate photo bug - I've heard of bugs where deleting a photo leaves a ghost duplicate behind that still shows up for people. And if they like that one, you'd see the likes despite not wanting the photo up anymore. IG can be janky like that sometimes.

- Ad still running - It's possible the ad didn't stop running right away even after you deleted it. Ads sometimes have a lag before they're fully removed. So new people could be finding the "deleted" photo from the lingering promoted post.

I wouldn't stress too much about them taking money since you stopped the ad. But you may want to contact IG support just to double check everything is shut off properly behind the scenes. And keep an eye out in case any other weird duplicates pop up! Tech stuff be glitchin' sometimes.
