When you Think of Switzerland, What is the First Thing That Comes to Your Mind?

In 1300, the Swiss Confederation became its own independent European country. I've never been to Switzerland, but when I think of Switzerland, I think of Bern, the gun control debate, cold weather, mountain ranges, Swiss Cheese, chocolate, and Atheism.

I am Swiss, I moved here when I was young with my mother who is Russian/Chinese and my father who is Italian/English. Switzerland is expensive, it is luxury, the banks, shops most expensive hotels and ski resorts are in Switzerland. We have a great quality of life, every weekend everyone is out in the mountains hiking and skiing or swimming the beautiful lakes. It's multicultural, but exclusive, every person that moves to Switzerland, becomes integrated, there is no 'china town' or 'american area' everyone is everywhere. The locals speak a wide variety of languages, Since we are on the border of so many countries, it's not hard to find someone who can speak German, French, English and Italian. But Switzerland is very picky with who they grant Visas and Passports. Some people live their whole live in Switzerland and are never granted citizenship. They want very successful people. Swiss food is nothing special, thick bread and cheese, but we make good chocolate, Chinese hotpot is one of the nation's favourite dishes, because it's so healthy with all the vegetables. Switzerland is very, very rich. There are tunnels that cost millions through every mountain, and a the whole country has an extensive and punctual train service, that reaches every small town and village hamlet. Switzerland is so clean. Most of the people here are recycling nutters. They pick stuff up off the ground. Swiss style is very understated and classy, most men and women dress very well, and most people wear very muted colours, mostly black/white/beige. If someone is wearing bright pink or yellow, they stand out like a sore thumb. It's beautiful, check my page, that picture is the view from our summer house in Lugano. Switzerland has a drug problem. Everyone smokes, EVERYONE. And there is a lot of Cannabis and Nos around.
