Big city or rural country?

In between. I grew up in a city of about two hundred thousand people if you include the unincorporated urban sprawl in a metropolitan area of 6.2 million people. It was less than an hour to three larger cities and many smaller cities in a endless block of concrete. When I was a kid there was still agricultural land out west with strawberry patches, cow pastures, etc. Having stuff like that around is nice. Every last inch got developed and then redeveloped to get more dense over time. I enjoy having a bit of nature and land, but still am very accustomed to the city. When I relocated I still found myself within minutes of a city of over 100K people that is growing rapidly and will likely be two to three hundred thousand people in the next ten years, but there is a lot of preserved nature in the area and protected farm land that is locked in due to zoning restrictions. The people developing my current area are actually wealthy people from my home town. So it’s like a new and improved version of my old city with more of the kinks worked out. So while this area will get dense, nature will stay intact. I’m also less than an hour from a larger city of over 500K people if I want more metropolitan entertainment. I also own acre now, which wasn’t something that was possible where I grew up because it had already been way over developed and land prices for residential land was already over a million an acre. There is more room for growth and profit here.
I should have included a poll option for a city around the 200,000 mark. Yeah they aren’t bad
Im a small town kinda guy, you know, like the towns you see on Hallmark television and Lifetime type of things.

I lived in the big city both in the gulf and western Europe
They defo have their perks (more stuff to do, more events etc, more different people to meet). But they do get stressful and overwhelming.
In Tunisia I live in a town that is very close to the city but at the same time it's right on the Mediterranean and next to a mountain, so I get best of both worlds, the greenery and blue of nature + close city. I think this is the best.
Tunisia sounds wonderful!
I voted small town as it's the closest option to where I live, although mine would be like 2 or 3 small towns in one. I enjoy living here but in saying that too I don't really know any different. I just can't imagine living in a big city where you're living on top of each other and it's soo crowded. More to do but just such a busy and big place would make me feel uncomfortable and lost.

I have lived in 10 parts of Canada since my 20s in 3 provinces, from big cities to smaller cities to small towns. The best places to live where you will be accepted for who you are and you dont have to change is a Christian conservative small town. This is coming from a white Canadian woman here generations.
Rural country for sure! The less people around me the better. I don't like busy places and noise. Wouldn't like to hear any traffic either. I prefer to hear nature. I already wake up to the sound of birds chirping and when I look out my bedroom window I see trees swaying in the morning breeze. I wouldn't be able to survive in a city and be happy.
Small suburbs are the best. Close enough to the city but still quiet
Cities are beautiful if they're well taken care of, there's more shit to do, and there's more economic opportunities. However, I hate most of the types of people who live there, and the policies suck. Overall, I still think cities are preferable overall, but ask me again in 5 years and I might change my mind.
I grew up in a suburb and have lived in both NYC and LA since then. I LOVE the city nothing compares to it. I’m a nightlife queen myself and while nothing gets wilder than the parties where I grew up in FL (there was mad shit going on) the city is special. It’s alive til 4 AM, and is the perfect place for me as a trans woman of color. It is everything I could ever ask for and it gives me life
Build an impenetrable private resort fortress away from civilization but sort of "close" enough to make a trip to get supplies when needed.
That would be awesome!
That's actually what my husband & I are hoping to accomplish in the near future.
@DeeDeeDeVour The way the world is heading... may even be a necessity one day. My kind of place too , love nature , and not a " people person " and very self reliant
Any of them but A. I've lived in all of those kind of places. I hate big cities but that's where the money is so it's where I spent most of my life. It can be very hard to make a living in the country or small towns.
Living way out in the middle of nowhere is something a lot of people think they'd like, but it's something you have to be ready for. It's VERY different and hard to get used to even if you like living that way. It's completely different living there than just visiting.
I grew up in the suburbs and I can't stand the city. There's too many people that I don't resonate with. In rural areas, people are generally much nicer because they're not used to being around that many people. If I could choose one way for life, I'd choose to get away from everyone with a partner.
I’ve always lived in Mega Cities. Seoul, Tokyo, Toronto, London... Pretty much over it. Thinking about moving to a small town with 5,000
Wow sounds quite interesting! What makes you wanna go to a small town?
Just tired of the noise really.
Rural 100%

Rural for sure, living a house surrounded by woods hearing nothing but the birds chirping and warm breeze through the trees.
Definitely in a big city. That way I would never be bored, I could meet different people and I would always have something new to do or see.
yes true but here in Canada we cannot afford to do any of the things in the big city now like its in the country you can watch free live music concerts but in the city that would never happen and beer is 10 dollars in the big city plus a tip and gas and parking and food prices are high now. In a smaller city the downtown parking is free.
I already live in the woods (deep country) closest Walmart is 25 minutes away, closets mall 50 minutes away, but I love it!!! I would never live in the city, I love living in the woods, it reminds me of a campsite at night!
Small town to countryside. I love animals, I love lots of natural. I'm rather introverted. Not saying I don't like any cultural fun activities, I do like some of them, but I'd rather have a quiet family happy life on a place like farm.
small town but a little more than 20k. My college town has like 40k.
Now I’m wondering why there’s a bigger percentage of woman who voted for big city and a bigger percentage of men on the 20k people one 🤔
So between New York sized cities and <20k there are no towns and cities. If I live in a 50k town, I don't exist is what you say
Look
Loool*
Farm life over city life any day. I love those large wrap around porches!
I like shooting guns in my yard
Now that's a great pastime.
Same, it nice to not have all the restrictions that go with a city
On the edge between both. So I can pick and choose depending on my mood.
I have lived in a big city all my life but sometimes I have this feeling that I should move to small town. In fact I went to college in rural area for 2 years and I loved it. People were welcoming and there is not too much pressure to become rich. I wish I could move but I have a job in the city and don’t know if it’s realistic.
I would love to live in an area where there isn't terrible traffic and I know most of the people living there, but with internet and a lot of shops, close to a city.
Once or twice a day a car passes my house.
I find that too crowded and too noisy :D
Small town for me. It’s nice to have city conveniences nearby, but I don’t wanna live there
The city. I've lived in a small town long enough. 😫
I live in a town with 14000 people. It is getting to be too big for me.
I've lived in a very big city Cape town, SA to be precise and now we've moved back home to a the beautiful countryside of my beautiful native country and I love being in a small town/ semi rural setting.
Even though traffic infuriates me, I miss my city so much when I'm not in İstanbul. I guess I can't give up on the big city.
If I had my way , voted D. Live in a small city , and this is as big as I can handle. Single dad , so cannot up sticks and leave , much as I would like to.
I'm already living in a rural town. I could never ever live in the city.
I'm a city person and I can't deny that, i don't like silance.
Im an introvert and i like nature so as long as i got ok internet rural 100/100
I like both, only problem with large cities in USA is the people and the financial aspect.
Yeahhh you got that right 💰💰💰
@exitseven Yeah, but the high-taxes, regulations, etc. ties into the people aspect. If a city has decent people that's not a problem.
My dream is to live in New York. I live in London and I LOVE it.
Whooping everyone's azz.. Then go live in the cave.. Just like ome of my idols.. Mew2.
I use to like king kong.. Until I found out he's a cracker with blue eyes...
I would like to live in a big city maybe not as big as New York or Chicago but maybe a capital city like Sacramento, California or Des Moines, Iowa. I live in Iowa.
With a town you get a lot, like everyone is like friends. But with that you get gossip. And everyone knows everyone so even if it is not true the whole town will know and think it is true.
B or C.
Big cities are awesome to look at and fun to visit, but too crowded loud and often unsafe to live in.
If I ever had a place in the woods, it would be a getaway home for me and my wife.
I really would love to live alone in the woods. Thatsmy biggest dream. Well no completely alone i would take my pets there with me
Small town for me. Nothing beats the peace n quiet of country living.
Small town or below. The governments in the cities have become too corrupt.
I live in a town of 2 800 people. We have all the amenities and services you need and if you hop on a bus which comes like twice an hour you can drive to a city which is 4 km away.
im tired of Caracas caos i need stay in a little town for some time..
I live in a small town, which is great because of the fact that I am surrounded by nature very near by, like coastal areas and forest.
Big city. I've been living in a what use to be a rural area and i always go to the big city to chill which is odd. I have a different mindset.
I think i'd prefer a small town
My goal is living in New York. But I wouldn't mind living in a farm either
Big city. I want to see what its like
Rich suburbs not far from center of a big city
Definitely big city. I'm a city guy all the way.
Little town, not even a competition tbh
I grew up in LA and never going back to a city ever again
Rural life is so much better, less toxicity and most people get along even if they disagree
Not a big city
Big city for sure.
Small town.
City
suburb
I prefer country. I pick B.
In the woods so i can bang her outdoors!!
Medium city.
