I used to love to watch Concorde take off from Heathrow. It was unlike anything else. But its never likely to be replaced until you can eliminate the sonic boom. A boom over land can shatter windows on the ground. That's why only a few routes were approved for supersonic flight - none of them over land.
I'd get my private license before I'd pay the prices supersonic flight would demand. As BA and Air France discovered, a supersonic plan can't be big enough to be able to take cargo and passengers. Just passengers was hellishly expensive. Cargo was too expensive to be viable. Businesses refused to pay the extra for speed.
The sooner the better , but it will start as a small expensive niche I believe..
So , I think it will be one of many options..
At this point , I just want the world open.
I shall not be holding my breath in waiting to see this actually getting off the ground, let alone flying commercially.
Won't happen because of the sonic booms they would cause.

Don't hold your breath. No one has been in any rush to replace the Concorde. It proved to be too expensive, and while newer designs could go even faster, they still use crazy amounts of fuel. You also the all the other problems: low passenger capacity, super loud take-offs, sonic booms, difficult landings, ultra long runway requirements, etc.
Airlines are focused on moving the most passengers at the lowest cost, and that's how they prioritize their aircraft purchases. That's why no modern SSTs have been built.
The ideas for the near future aren't always meeting reality
I was hearing about an SST (Super Sonic Transport) back when I was a kid, and I'm no longer a kid- not by a long shot. You can't build it big enough to allow for sufficient Revenue Per Available Seat Mile (RASM). Doomed.
Almost nothing. It will not have the impact that they have on people movement will be low. A palane like that is hyper-costly built with titanium. You have to sell your kidneys and your eyes to buy a ticket.
These things never get off the drawing board. It's a bullshit announcement to get gullible people to bulk up the share price on a short term basis.
We've seen this many many times before.
I have a feeling that it won't be profitable, and will go by the wayside just like the Concorde did.
Why are all the option so negative? It might be a good thing. You get in and out sooner and less times spent dealing with airlines BS', controls and attitudes.
Those other airlines will still be there because this new type of airline will most likely cost more since it would take less time.
That’s more than 6 times the speed of the fastest commercial aircraft now. This is so far in the future, if ever
It will be so expensive that only the 1% will be able to use it.
