With this huge arctic outflow happening over much of Canada & the US what is the weather & temperature like where you are? Where I live it is -25C overcast & winds out of the NW at 14 KMH at the moment? For you guys down south that works out to about -13F.
+1 yI live in the Gulf South and it's 28 F right now and will rise above freezing for a hot minute, then plummet to between 20 and 25 for overnight. Bitterly cold because of wind and freezing rain.
Damp and cold is bone chilling. And in New Orleans many city houses are raised on piers, so pipes can be threatened and burst if you don't drip your water. I've wrapped insulation around the bottom of my 4 foot high house, will wrap my satsuma tree for tonight, they are usually OK to 19 degrees, and loaded my garden areas with more than a foot of cypress mulch that fell from my front yard tree right on time!11 Reply- +1 y
The Centigrade temp is a few degrees below 0C.

+1 yIt’s currently 1 degree, 13 mph winds, so feels like -16 out there. We had a winter storm Friday into Saturday. Was without power from Friday 5:30 pm till Saturday 5:30 pm and then the cold front came in Sunday 3am so the snow out there is now ice…fun fun🙄

+1 yIt's definitely hard nipples cold where I am. Single digits farenheit. It's been a few days of this and I really don't like it. We got snow but at least it wasn't too much. Not looking forward to my hearing bill.

You have a nice day. I would be happy with -25. Here in Alberta it has been -40 to -46. With windchill where I am was down to -56 but about 1 hr away was -64.
I have been out everyday in this weather and I lost count of how many layers of clothing I have put on.
It is supposed to warm up to -25 tomorrow which will feel like a spring day after a week of this nasty cold.11 Reply
+1 yIt's mostly cloudy on the East coast of the US, located in Southwestern Pennsylvania the high is 23 degrees with lower wind gusts than last night. The temperatures last night were 11 degrees, Fahrenheit. Yesterday's temps dropped all day and windchill factor was dangerously cold.

+1 yWarming up now, like -5 I think. Thurs/Fri were wicked cold for the coast, -15 to -20 overnight and blowing 40mph on the water. Makes work interesting when everything you touch has an inch of ice on it

Yeah I can deal with those temps normally, but sub zero and boats are just makes things miserable
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI’m in Florida, this year there’s been barely any cold at all. AT ALL.

+1 y-50 degrees in some places in America.
That global warming is destroying the planet!
123 Reply- +1 y
There is no correlation between seasonal temperature in selected regions and climate change. 2022 was the warmest year in recorded history. All credible climate scientists have agreed climate change is threatening human life on earth. The only ones that deny climate change are the quacks who believe the earth is 5000 years old.
- +1 y
It's called ice ages... maybe you've heard of them. There have been five of them. Look it up. The planet goes through temperature changes. That's what it does. That is no reason to destroy America. People adapt.
- +1 y
@RingOfFire Ice ages occurred before humans existed. We have a constant outpour of carbon emissions that weren't there before, that's the major difference here. Those emissions trap greenhouse gases in the air and force an enhanced greenhouse effect, thus heating up the Earth.
Look this stuff up, I can promise you it's not science fiction - +1 y
"Ice ages occurred before humans existed."
PRECISELY!
The earth was going through warming and cooling cycles of the earth billions of years before humans even existed.
And PS: The same thing is happening on UNINHABITED PLANETS in the solar system.
And PSS: There were and still are GIGANTIC carbon emissions every year from NATURAL SOURCES like volcanos, wildfires and every single living plant on the planet today. That was going on long before humans even existed and is still going on today.
So to try to destroy the US economy to prevent something that has been happening NATURLLY since the earth came into existence is LUNACY!
Look this stuff up, I can promise you it's not science fiction. - +1 y
Correct there are natural carbon emissions, however burning fossil fuels are the primary cause of the greenhouse effect causing climate change. There are also secondary causes like methane from livestock production. There are climate models that can predict the impact of fossil fuel emissions for the next few decades and if we don’t do something about it the future will be very bleak indeed. I don’t know where you choose to get your information from Mr Fire, I suggest you real credible sources from actually climate scientists not hacks.
- +1 y
@Notherndude84 No use convincing him. Climate change deniers will always return to the 'ice age' point without recognising our human involvement. Can't change wilful ignorance
- +1 y
"There are also secondary causes like methane from livestock production. "
Got news for you. People fart too. So why don't you volunteer to do your part for the climate change effort and be the first one to starve yourself to death by not eating anything that produces greenhouse gases so we can have one less evil farting human destroying our planet? - +1 y
It is... incredible, how badly you are missing the point 😃
- +1 y
Fire, you are truly a disgusting human being. You live on a steady diet of conspiracy theories and or right wing propaganda. You don’t value human life, inclusion of all Americans or anything the founders of this nation stood for. You are excuse the inexcusable and laugh and mock everyone who has real values. You will go to your grave having not changed anything and despised by most who knew you. I want to end my time here on earth knowing I stood up for Truth, Justice, Inclusion and human rights. In the mean time I will teach my kids to loathe people who think and act like you.
- +1 y
Oh no, I get the point perfectly. Wipe out humans to save the planet!
- +1 y
@notherndude84
You are just so morally superior to the rest of us. How can we ever live up to your standard?
You people are laughable with your virtue signaling hallucinations. You think that dictating other peoples' destiny and forcing them into your hallucinatory view of the world is some kind of laudable agenda. You think someone appointed you the arbiter of what constitutes virtue and compassion and that you have every right to force others to comply with your dictates.
Not on my watch you won't. - +1 y
@RingOfFire On your watch? I'm afraid you're saying that to generations younger than you. The fact is that we have been taught actual climate crisises and we understand them as grave issues, not liberal propaganda. Gen Xers and younger will be improving the planet when your outdated ideologies pass on. So don't worry, this won't be on your watch.
Side note: Your grammar is outstanding. Arbiter? Laudable? That is a truly advanced diction, genuine props to you. The English student in me is geeking out 😄 - +1 y
"Your grammar is outstanding." 😂
You earn points for this. Not for complimenting me but for your emotional stability in making such a comment. - +1 y
Fire you are an impotent old fool who is angry at a changing world, you have nothing but a belly full of hate and propaganda to spew. You latched onto a demogouge believing his lies and hate fueled speech will legitimize you.
You sir are a nothing and a nobody, you will die an ugly, angry old man universally despised by those who had the misfortune of knowing you. - +1 y
I may die, but America will live thanks to people like me who will defeat you communist freedom hating Marxists on every front in every way forever until the end of time.
