I can usually find a way to do something memorable, even if I am broke. Maybe 12 years ago I was really broke (long story), but I was doing a bunch of work for a seaside inn that was made up of about a dozen buildings of various shapes, sizes, and styles. We were there for DirecTV, doing a commercial installation.

Turns out that they also needed some extra work done, outside the scope of my contract, so I agreed to do that on the side in return for a weekend stay at the only single-occupancy building. They agreed, and I did the work. I told my girlfriend that I was going to have to go back up there and do some extra work in a few weeks, and would she come with me? She agreed, assuming that she would spend the weekend handing me tools or helping run wire or something. Instead, we had a private little in that looked something like a lighthouse sitting right on the cliff overlooking the ocean. It was very private yet lots of ocean-view windows. We got to spend 3 days there relaxing, and she said it was the most romantic trip she'd ever been on.

I barely had money for gas and food, but I still found a way to do something nice. Something that was WAY outside my budget at that time.

the only vacation I go to are the one where I go to my grandparents hours so the only things I need to buy is gas so anyone with low budget could accompany me
