Trending recently is an Instagram pic of fitness buff Liz Krueger wearing a questionable dress to a wedding. In the post on her Instagram page, Krueger seems surprised at the reaction, saying-
"If only I knew that choosing this dress for a wedding on a 90 degree day meant so many women would be outrightly rude to me, and even come up behind me slap my ass as I'm standing alone."

From the picture, I understand clearly that she prefers wearing tight-fitting clothes. However, a wedding is a FORMAL event, and formal events usually mean modest, elegant attire. She should wear a tight-fitting dress with longer sleeves and a longer skirt. The sleeves should cover her wrist, and the skirt should reach her ankles. In Western culture, many women would also cover their heads, as prescribed in the Bible. Wearing a modest, elegant dress is usually a safer option than wearing sexy garb. The main point of modesty is to de-emphasize your personal appearance and sensuality.
In modern times, many people are not religious. Therefore, they can do whatever they want, as long as other people are okay with the behavior. If the girl wears a sexy dress to the wedding, and the bride is okay with it, then she is allowed to wear the sexy dress.

If I showed up to the park to play with my nephew wearing a full on ball gown and tiara, people are going to stare and talk b/c its considered inappropriate for where I am and what I'm doing. This is the same with this dress. Some people don't have the is it appropriate/not filter. They wear whatever, and maybe some do feel its appropriate or just fine, or whatever. The point is, I'd be no more a princess because I went to a park wearing a tiara and ball gown, then this woman a slut for dressing a certain way. A dress doesn't make you a slut, your actions do.
I always thought slut shaming is reserved for people who are actually sluts... o. O And not just dress revealingly. Sure, a lot of the time the two are closely connected, but you can feel when they're not.
She's complaining about weather. I feel like she was looking for any excuse to wear it because saying it was 90 out is a pretty bad one. Dudes are wearing suits and ties that crap gets you way more hot. Plus if she really cared about the weather she would have just been better off wearing jeans and a t shirt. So I'm pretty sure she knew exactly what she was doing when she put on that dress for the wedding. And she tried to start a trending hashtag with her name in it. She's just an attention seeker.

As for the dress, I of course do not believe anything is "slutty", but I don't even see how the dress is inappropriate for a wedding. Have you been to a wedding? People wear, like, bright pink waistcoats and shit. Weddings are big parties. A lot of women wear dresses like that, and a little jacket for the church service, and then take it off for the meal & drinking.

I think it's inappropriate for a wedding, it's more of a dress for a club. There are plenty of modest dresses you can wear on a hot day. That being said, it's also inappropriate to slut shame her like that. It's ridiculous that women poured beer on her and slapped her butt. There are ways to get the point across without doing any of that. I guarantee half those women didn't even care that it was inappropriate for a wedding or disrespectful to be bride and groom. They were likely doing it just to be bitches. I've seen girls slut shame others for dressing like that at clubs.
I won't slut shame but I will fashion shame her. A wedding is not a night club. Unless she privately talked to the bride and groom and they were cool with it, she should've never worn it.

@Laura_Marx no it's called class. Maybe I just surround myself with classy people who are members of the working class but I have never seen anybody wear that to a wedding.
@Laura_Marx One thing to remember: This might be what weddings have become but many people over the age of 30 find this nightclub approach to be extremely immature and even insulting to the idea of a union ritual. It's not meant to be a nightclub setting, though of course it's up to the bride and groom.
@Laura_Marx No it really shouldn't be until the post party if even that. The bride's day, not the guest. I think we should respect a brides wedding, her effort in looking beatiful... even more so if it's her only wedding in her life (its rare nowadays but we won't know.) This would be like the equivalent of a groom losing his attention and having another male overtake that attention. How many times have we heard, the dress is the wedding? How rude to try and be as appealing. I don't think she deserved the disrespect either of getting her ass slapped, but she was trying to be appealing! I wouldn't ask her to leave but I'd certainly be disappointed. I'd like to assume my friends and family are a little more attuned to what is or is not appropriate attire for a wedding. I did read that she was a guest and didn't even know the couple though, so I dunno, I think I'd be pretty annoyed if one of my invited guests brought along someone who was dressed trashy because, sorry, but my assumption would be that she was there to party at my expense and get all eyes on her. That's the message that particular dress sends at an event where everyone else is dressed, we'll, like they're at a wedding...
But this is also one of the reasons why I won't allow plus ones to my wedding. If they're not a serious enough couple to warrant the less close partner to be there in his/her own right, I don't want that person there. I don't want a bunch of randos at my wedding..
@Sara413 she was a plus one? That makes this situation so much worse. I would at the very least, be super annoyed. Good idea to only let serious couples add a plus one. I wouldn't want a new couple who hardly know each other and don't know how comparable they are to be fighting at the wedding.

This dress would still jot be appropriate for any of those descriptions. Nothing wrong with a cute little sundress if it's leaning more casual, but that dress is skin tight and so short there's no way she could even bend over without her cootch flashing everyone lol
@the_boss honestly, for me it's not about our shining the bride (why the way this whole notion that the whole day is about the BRIDE with no mention of the groom or the families is pretty messed up)... it's about dressing appropriately for the context. A wedding is a classy affair, not a night club. There's probably always gonna be a guest or two who are arguably better looking than the bride no matter how much effort she puts in or how little they do, that's not what it's about.
@ginny_weasley i always figured if I don't know the persons name to address the invite to them personally they have no business being at my wedding. No one attending my wedding will be a plus one at all. They're either invited themselves or they're not.
@Laura_Marx I'm an American and I see nothing wrong with how she is dressed for the wedding, it doesn't out shine the bride and it fit the weather. The dress didn't flater her top much but it was cute enough, and I wouldn't have seen it as a problem at my wedding. I guess it's only certain Americans because I showed some friends around me and they to had no problem with the dress, the only problem they had was the shameing she was getting, if we women talk about each other like this it only makes it easier for men to talk about us like this.

The dress was absolutely inappropriate for a wedding - that's a club dress. But the people who harassed her were way out of line. When you see someone who's dressed inappropriately for the occasion you roll your eyes and move on. There's no excuse for being a dick to someone. She's not hurting anyone, just making herself look silly.. that's no one's business but hers.

She's a very fit lady and wears the dress well. Is it appropriate for the weather? Yes. Is it appropriate for a wedding? Questionable.

The bride is wearing an enormous pure white dress costing thousands of dollars, that trails behind her and is carried above the floor by tiny children, she walks arm-in-arm with her father over a rug scattered with loose blossom petals, and approaches an altar where she makes a speech. I heard more about this. They talked about it on the radio and her friends called in and said nothing happened at that wedding. They were there and no one actually did anything to her. Everyone thinks she's making it up to get publicity for her fitness business because now there's a viral and revealing picture showing how fit she is. Like "hey look how hot I am, feel sorry for me and I'll teach you how to look like this"
yea, the story sounded shady to me. and the fact she felt women where jealous of her body type. Which threw me off too , i dont know many who would be jealous of her body.

Slut shaming does not apply, sluts are promiscuis and therefore cannot be applied to the way some one dresses. I would also like to point out that she stated it was women who where mistreating her not men (important to note since many women seem to think its men who behave this way when really that is a rarity). So no she should not be slut shamed. Is the dress appropriate for a wedding? I personally don't think so but I really couldn't bring myself to care enough to say anything about it.
That's a terrible dress. Both in the sense that it's ugly and kinda inappropriate for a wedding - maybe just a bit too tight and short. That being said, I don't think she deserved to be treated the way she was, nor does she deserve to be slut-shamed. Just because it wasn't the most appropriate dress ever, it doesn't give other people the right to be rude to her or talk shit about her. I don't think anyone deserves to be mistreated just because of how they dress.
I don't believe that she should have been slut shamed for wearing the dress. Although, I do feel that the dress is inappropriate for a wedding. It just looks attention seeking if you ask me. Also, that necklace does not look right with the dress at all. Despite Ms. Krueger being very fit, I do not believe that dress fits her very well. It's not very flattering to her figure. Sure, it does the job of showing off her body, but I don't think it looks right. She has a slamming body though.

1st-She looks bangin in the dress. But I wouldn't want her wearing that at my wedding. Personally, I think it's an ugly dress. I f it was a solid color, same length but a little less tight-I wouldn't see a problem. It just looks like a clubbing dress-and a clubbing dress isn't appropriate in my opinion for a wedding.

It seems common that a lot of women have this complete lack of logic and total sense of entitlement when they choose to expose themselves for attention. They feel they should be able to wear as little as possible without any sort of negative consequence, while at the same time they have zero issue mocking or attacking a male if he was to wear something inappropriate in public. I personally am tired of women exposing themselves in public (and around children) and acting like they have a right to do so.
and... it's not going to be a problem for the woman whose dress is traipsing a mile behind her if someone else is wearing something skin tight. the bride's going to be the centre of attention no matter what.
The whole don't outshine the bride malarkey. If the bride is ugly, a nice dress won't change anything, but a wedding is a classy event and the guests should at least dress it. It might've not have been a great choice for a wedding, but she most certainly did not deserve to be slutshamed, and have people slap her inappropriately, that was totally inappropriate, rude, and uncalled for. The only person who had a right to complain about her dress was the bride afterall it was her special day.

I think it's more innapropriate that she's taking attention away from the bride. She obviously looks fantastic and knows she would attract a lot of attention, I don't like when people do that at a wedding.
It's inappropriate for sure, at any other occasion it would be fine and she has the body for it for sure, but at a wedding it is downright disrespectful to wear something that takes the attention away from the bride. That's my only problem with it.

The QA asks: is this dress appropriate for a wedding? and no one has ever thought abot wether or not a dress could be inappropriate for a wedding before, and they do it for the first time here, and they answer based on something probably very unrelated to weddings - the question is about 'slut shaming' so it associates itself to a bunch of preconceived ideas - and they come upwith a stupid answer, which has no connection to the world that they live in.
The dress covers the chest and the upper thighs, there are very few dresses that cover more, when going to a wedding people tend to wear the most showy stuff they own. Their 'nicests'
