A British couple- Danielle Hirst, 29, and Craig Smith, 31- were caught on CCTV engaging in a sex act and having sex in a Domino's Pizza takeaway in Scarborough, back in February. The CCTV recording of the couple's sexual antics, which the court was shown in September, showed Hirst performing oral sex on Smith, before the couple had sex leaning against the counter, in the presence of the staff, with the full sex session lasting for a full eighteen minutes. The 18 minute CCTV footage, which the court was shown in September, showed the couple ordering food and messing around with a yellow cleaning cone, before Hirst performed oral sex on Smith. For the next ten minutes, they then had sex while leaning on the counter close to the till. Staff can be seen working in the kitchen as the couple continue their antics and delivery staff come and go during the footage.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Davis, acknowledged that there was "no identifiable victim", no pre-planning and the pair were clearly under the influence of drink. But he said: "The potential for harm was significant. But, it seems to us, that the harm caused was to the public who were outraged after the CCTV was released on social media."
Hirst pleaded guilty to the offence of 'outraging public decency', and Smith was found guilty of the same offence in his absence in September. Magistrates in Scarborough said the couple were "very close to going to prison". When sentenced earlier today, the couple were spared jail, but were instead handed 12-month community orders, and told that they must sleep apart for almost six months, imposed by implementing 23-week long curfews at separate addresses monitored by electronic tags.

Domino's Pizza shop sex couple spared jail- but prohibited from sleeping together for 6 months. Fair or Unfair?
In my opinion if I were the owner or the manager of that Domino's and I had actually seen that going on in my place the first thing I would have done is called law enforcement.
While waiting for law enforcement to arrive I would have taken a 46 inch Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat and came out from behind the counter and beat the both of them to a pulp and then dragged their bodies out into the street and left them there and if I had the time I would have pissed on the both of them!!!

@Waffles731 Yes as if I was the owner of the place and seen you doing that in my place I would take a baseball bat and beat your head into a pulp then drag your body out in the street and leave it there as having sex is meant to be performed in a private place behind closed doors and not in the open public like some animals.
You want to fuck your girlfriend or have her suck you off fine but you would not do it in my place of business and get away with it.
The government should not be interfering with people's sex lives AT ALL. They have no fucking business doing that. I think a punishment was needed, but telling people that they can't have sex by using governmental authority is ridiculous.
@Rissyanne When did I say that they shouldn't be punished? Did I sugguest that in any way, shaped, or form? If I did, then please point it out. If I'm not mistaken, I said that punishment should be in place but followed up by saying the government should have to business in someone's sex life. As someone who claims to be a republican, I'd assume you would agree.

@Rissyanne Well, you were insinuating that I didn't care about the fact that they had sex publically in a dominos with your comment. I don't see any other motive behind what you said. It's as if I don't agree with the punishment of not allowing them to have sex is best suited for the crime, then I just by default support them having sex publically at Domino's like that. That's a nonsensical argument. I see this empty type of argument initiated by the left with gun control a lot. Of course, I think they should be punished, just not in the way that was decided with this case. No, I wouldn't be okay with a couple coming over and having sex on my bed. Not sure where you're going with that one.

I feel as if I'm regurgitating my statement in a multitude of different ways just so you can gain some sense of clarity here lol. I really don't know how else to explain it. I don't think the government should be involved in people's sex lives. I think there is a punishment that is needed for this crime, but I don't agree with the punishment that was given.
I dont understand your logic. You said government shouldn't get involved but they should be punished. Who is going to punish them? "The government should not be interfering with people's sex lives AT ALL."

They should have been fired if it were me. I wouldn't even bother with getting them arrested. Keep that crap out of the public eye. Unethical, and unprofessional. I wonder what their parents and friends now think of them.
Well, they didn't work there, so it's not like they could be fired- they were customers who walked in, placed an order, and started having sex right there in front of the counter while waiting for their takeaway pizza. What else could the staff have done?
At that point then yeah, they should have been arrested if they didn't work there. I would have given them my highest charge. Too lenient if you ask me. do that crap here and off to the Patty wagon you go.
I question this entire report. The way that law works is that an offence is described, then a predetermined range of penalties is written into the legislation. There is no way that there would be a law which stated that 'thou shalt not fuck for six months if thou fuckest in a pizza shop'.

I hope they get banned from Domino's Pizza permanently for life. And I hope other restaurants would do the same to make an example that they should keep that kind of stuff in private at home or in a hotel room and not in the public.
Domino's stroke of genius. Sex sells, but using it to sell pizza? A very deliberate publicity stunt performed by a very driven pair of employees, martyrs are less selfless
I voted unfair. I dont think it is so much that being told not to have sex is disproportionate, however I think we are walking a fine line of authoritarianism if we allow our government to make those kinds of rulings
They weren't quite first-time offenders- the girl had previous convictions for theft and minor public order matters, while the guy was on parole after having recently been released from a 15 month prison sentence for violence. But the defending lawyer's main argument, that they were too drunk to be held fully responsible, held up in court.
The guy was apparently 'clearly unhappy' with the sentence that he got when he left the courtroom though, according to eyewitnesses. Maybe the sentence of six months without getting to have sex with his girlfriend was harsher than a jail sentence in his opinion...
Maybe, but that doesn't mean that he won't try it. I would assume that he'd actually defy the court order and try to sneak sex with his girl, considering that he doesn't seem the brightest of lads to begin with. I just hope that if he does, that they'll catch him.
