There’s nothing wonderful about a man chasing a woman. I should just stop reading there. If the man can’t take a no that’s a huge big red flag? Makes you want to get even further away from that creep!
Another big red flag: A man saying any conversation with a woman will end up her accusing him of being a rapist. I doubt anyone’s actually encountered that situation in real life.
Many have encountered that situation in real life and I can name several that I know personally. One of them was my cousin. A girl accused him of raping her and everyone believed her till her lies came undone but his life is still ruined.
If you think these cases are "rare" then you know nothing and are ignorant.

Bullshit. My whole life, all I have heard is women (and just the media in general) highlighting all the things that are wrong with men. Meanwhile there has been nothing but encouragement and praise for girls. I have serious fucking issues because of that messaging, combined with the shitty way my mother treated my father. I grew up thinking I was an absolute shit stain and the only way I could contribute to a woman's life was by saving her from some random disaster (thank you Hollywood).
What the fuck are we teaching our boys about their value as human beings, or their desirability? We're teaching them that they are total shite. It's so fucking unfair. My life has been ruined by it, but it doesn't have to keep happening.

@soyboy999 well, my dear, I have met rapists. I have met molesters. I have met men who have done disgusting things to women. If this dumbass can't tell the difference between that kind of behaviour, and how to respectfully chat up a woman, then maybe he is more prone to those behaviours then he realises.
@soyboy999 and as a girl I was taught to pick up after men, take care of their needs, support them, and put myself second. I was taught that the most important thing a woman can be is a wife and child. The media showed BS Disney-esque storylines of girls needing rescuing and men being saviours. It goes both ways. BOTH stereotypes need to dissolve. Teach men to respect women. Teach women to be independent. Then we can support, love and care for one another as equals.

For example, my SO has a strong, independent mother who took care of them alone while his dad worked overseas to further his career. My SO has a profound respect for women. If he reads something or sees something about a radical feminist, he just laughs it off as a crazy person. Because that is not how most women are.
And men hit on you regardless. So it never deprived you of intimacy. Also, is it better to be told you're essentially expendable than to be told you're a princess? Really?

It's not just this Metoo issue, people are picking on each other for just any reason these days. It's like this trolling habit on the internet has extended its dirty arms into serious social and legal areas. Some people are using sensitive social issues to harrass and isolate others. They are haters who just want to lighten their heavy burden of negative feelings by hurting others. I hope we can find a way to stop this. They are ruining it for those of us who truly do need help.
Although I still agree with some posts that one or two no's from a lady mean enough is enough. I also see lots of comments about people's behaviors in bars. Honestly, someone in a bar is most probably pretty intoxicated, and may have quite a heap of issues if taking to alcohol is their release. So I wouldn't really say they are very responsible for their actions at that point. I'd be surprised if they were! I wouldn't COUNT on them for anything.
It is a very real concern among men that they can be punished for doing nothing or next to nothing because of the feminist attitude society is taking on

Absolutely. The irony of it all is that what feminists call "the patriarchy" exists in the rift between men and women. The more divided we are, the stronger the patriarchy becomes. It exists when men and women stop trusting one another, because men in power begin shunning or avoiding women as a matter of legal and financial survival. They stop mentoring young women. They stop interacting with them. Work places become more segregated. All of these things promote the us vs. them mentality. The powerful do not flock to women's defense. What they do is isolate women and call it defense, when in reality it's just risk assessment. A man can't even be accused to sexual harassment if he never interacts with a woman, at least not at the work place, and the segregation of men and women in the work place hurts women more than it hurts men.
I would simply hate to be a young man in this environment trying to get a date now. Us old guys have it much easier. There isn't as big a chance for misunderstandings.
But I hardly think Henry Cavill has much to worry about. There are millions of women who would gladly wait in line just to meet him.
As for the rest of these young guys, they are just average fellas. They are dealing with something entirely different.

I do to ane extent. I'll likely never approach a woman randomly as in see her at the grocery store and go up to her and hit on her. It would be we bump into each other (literally), I need to ask her a question, we're at the same event looking/talking about the same thing... etc. Many women these days are just rude. If every girl who rejected a guy would be polite and turn us down like this "thank you for the interest but I'm not looking to date right now/have a boyfriend/no thank you you're a gentleman but no thank you" it would be a lot less intimidating. And honestly if a girl is interested, she should do the same and approach the guy. It's a lot of effort making all the moves. Putting ourselves out there. If you like someone, do something about it regardless of gender. If you don't then clearly you don't think they're worth the effort anyways so move on to someone who will be worth it.

I understand where he’s coming from. But a person is labeled a creep when you do something creepy. It’s hard to come off as a decent human being. If you don’t approach someone with a sexual agenda, you won’t be accused of having one. (Well, there are SOME crazies out there ready to hurt your reputation, but on average, you won’t have to deal with that 😂)

If you don't approach a person with a sexual agenda, you will never find a partner though. Well, maybe Mr. Cavill will, but he is a celebrity, he has different things to look out for. But your average Joe has to put a bit of pressure if he wants to achieve anything. I have let go too many girls because I was just not brave enough to make that extra step, apply that extra pressure. Sorry, but without sexual agenda, sexuality and romance doesn't exist.

I definitely feel likely lately the line between predation and seduction has been blurred to the point that many men just are inactive in light of it. I definitely am hyper self conscious about making advances and that stops me a lot of the time.
For me to approach and really get sweet on a girl she'd have to be so forward and friendly as to indicate it is almost a sure thing. But I have an anxiety disorder and a lot of issues with depression and self esteem so I don't know how much this is an extension of that or the times, but both are definitely a factor.
I was just talking to a female friend about his Henry Cavill interview. The first thing that astonished me is that he is very much admired and desired by MANY women and takes no advantage from it (most men would do just the opposite). And I agree with him when he does not want to be called a rapist. There are so many cases of women being abused that the wrong approach may be confused with some kind of sexual harassment. Henry's got a point, I totally agree with him.

I've approached a lot of women and never been accused of anything. You generally only have issues if you're being a creep and actually sexually assaulting people.
Times change, cultures evolve. Our dating practices have gone through a lot of variations over the years and trying to fix it to a certain point in time is an exercise in futility.

I've had so many experiences of women doing complete 180s on me that I totally get where he is coming from. I'm definitely scared of hooking up with women, and it actually stopped me from hooking up in college, because the fear of this kind of thing actually paralyzed me with fear.

I have personally witnessed many women fabricate accusations of physical assault, sometimes sexual. Many women (I would even say most women) will complain nonstop to their friends about what a jerk a guy is, and make sure he looks like a degenerate after any kind of argument. Many women have absolutely no qualms about blatantly lying to people's faces to get what they want. I even had a woman tell me that her boyfriend was a heroin junky who was cheating on her with his dealer so I would help out with groceries.

It's basically zero. About 200 false rape allegations were filed in in my country, and there are 8.5 million guys. Omit children and you're at like 5.5 million. It's a neglectsble chance
