I am a man. I believe this stuff from the last 10 years or so about... there really isn't any male or female and you are whatever you want stuff and there are 50 "pronouns" evidence that modern society has gone totally insane.
A man can take some hormones and choose to try and live their life as a woman is being allowed to join girl's sports and kick the living crap out of all the real girls and these idiots bemoan how "evil" and "sexist" it is to deny these women... while the hundreds and hundreds of little girls get taken advantage of.
There are men and women... male and female. It is called science and biology... for thousands of years people have accepted common fact. Now there are a very small percentage of people... very small who don't want to be a man or woman... their birth sex... they want to choose to live as they other sex.
Ok, fine... Steve wants to take hormones now and wear ladies clothes and be called Emma. Ok, if that is what they want... ok. No one can stop them... but this huge demand that all of life just bow down and cow to every little whim and demand they have and you are some evil racist if you don't. You must called them "they" or "X" or whatever they hell crap they come up with. If you say men cannot have babies... they freak out and go bonkers as if you are insane and they are the rational ones.
Society is insane. Bruce Jenner wins lots of gold medals in the Olympics. He lives for 50 or more years as a man... how he was born. Then he decides he wants to live as a woman and be called Kaitlyn... and society is bending over backwards worship this and immediately crown "her" win some woman of the year award or something.
Really? He has been living as a woman for like one year and wins some woman's award? That is just insanity. It is also proof that all of these stupid awards organizations meet out are just crap and political and a slave to stupid agendas and of zero merit. The Oscars... the Emmy's... the Nobel Peace Prize... these man of the year... woman of the year things. They are just political, worthless crap.
Couldn’t agree more
"They/Them"? What does this even mean? How can someone identify as multiple people?
Every time someone goes through the "realisation" that they don't "identify" as one of the two genders, they do it under the guise that they're going through "healing", and therefore you can't question their delusion (as it would be inhumane to do so because if someone is recovering from something, you must do everything in your power to make them happy even if it means lying to them or keeping quiet, am I right?).
The problem today is that all of these people that change their pronouns claim they're being true to themselves while simultaneously feeling the need to fit under a classification with certain roles that they have associated with them (they fail to see that gender is scientific in nature and by it's definition it's binary, however, that doesn't mean a man can't wear lipstick or a woman can't do whatever it is a man can do); this is clearly a contradiction to being true to yourself because you go out of your way to write a list of things that this so-called "gender" is LIKELY to do and therefore you will not do anything outside of the roles written associated to your "gender"; and if you ever have the urge to do something else, you'll then identify as a new "gender" in which it is common to do this thing.
You do not need to call yourself a name (gender) in order to be able to do something. There is clearly a mental block in place leading you to think that, or perhaps just a misunderstanding. You are not free nor "true to yourself" if this describes you.
The first sentence is a joke by the way. I am aware that they cn be used in reference to one person e. g. "ask a friend if they could help".
I'm a woman.
But in the eyes of an old school man im looked on as a man.
I pay by bills, and have done since 19, live alone, travel alone. Deal with all the big tasks alone unless have to call someone out.
Modern men will see me as their equal and be proud to call me she/her.
Because we live in a society that require us to fit a particular mold.
My female counter parts will also see me as she/her. Because they be doing and achieving the same goals in life. Why because women ain't never been nothing less that what we are today.
Neitehr one is a preferred pronoun. You were born a man or a woman nothing in between. Just like this guy in England. That is very stupid that now she or he is a non binary. Gimme a break!! I guess her consuming so much drugs during his earlier years affect her brain and neurones so much that now she is not consider a man or a woman. This youth now is so full of dumb things.. Stupid lady

What you are saying is false.
What is a "yought generation"?

Omg I’m so glad that our prophet Demi Lavato had told us to worry about pronouns. I’m going to drop everything I’m doing and worry about that all day now (cough)
If you look like a woman I’m going to call you she/her. If you look like a man I’m going to call you he/him. I encourage everyone else to do the same because this bullshit is ridiculous.
My same thoughts, but will add if you want to “identify” as a specific gender look the part.
I “identify” as a 15 year old girl and I look like it and would expect someone to say her or girl.
I’ve seen and heard many say “I identify as a female” yet I’m fairly sure they didn’t change a key piece of the puzzle...
@GabrielaDragonFly no kidding. I’m glad a young girl your age can think for yourself. The radical left is trying to brainwash young people all they can. Teen girls are often the most susceptible to social contagion (teen female to male hormone therapy skyrocketed in the last few years). However it sounds like someone did a good job raising you.
Helps my family is from France :)
Only in past few years an American
Yes fully legal and contributing as my mom would say
Thanks
@GabrielaDragonFly I’m embarrassed about some of the moronic crap coming out of my country (Canada and the UK too). People seriously have nothing else to worry about?
Anyway stay focused. You are going to feel lots of social pressure about your liberal American friends and our public education system is far left in itself (and it’s been going for decades)
Good to know
He/him or just call me as you see it. Hopefully, I look like a guy to most people. I find this too confusing to keep track of unless we call everyone "they/them" so I think we should just call it as we see it.
The confusing thing to me is that I use gender pronouns mostly for people I don't know. I can use their name if I know them. It's like if I get mugged and the police are asking questions about who mugged me, I use "he" because the person looked like a guy. I didn't get a chance to get his preferred gender pronoun while he was mugging me.
Well now you know. So the next time u get mugged, ask!
Tricky! :-D I wanna be respectful though and not deliberately offended people. I see a male in a dress and I would assume the person wants to be called "she", and happy to use "she" there. But just in terms of linguistic efficiency, it seems like we are losing out on details that might be of interest to people if we have to err on the side of "they/them" until we know, for certain, what gender pronoun is preferred regardless of how they dress or look.
Literally reading you referring to her as "they" made me cringe. Like seriously what's up with that it makes it sound like there are clones of her or something.
I mean I know tons of bisexuals but none ever needed to do something like this for attent... ohhhh 😯
People nowadays are lacking any kind of basic understanding about the language they are supposely speak, no? They is plural. If Demi Lovato isn't multiple people, she simply can't be "they". Now if she is coming out as having some form of multiple personality disorder, it would at least make some sense.
OMG EXACTLY!!! IM SO OVER THIS THEM THEY SHIT... I am a lesbian and I could careless what someone wants to go by ! What does grind my gears is the pluralizing of one person. Also, I think she's doing this to remain relevant - she needs more mental health assistance. Ugh I want to be a damn tree and a zillionaire so, I guess I'm transfinancial and the government needs to make it legal for everyone to treat me like I'm a super rich person. Who gives a fuck if you're confused about your gender? U don't get to change grammar bc u want to feel special! Lol
They can be singular look up the definition of they.
@lmcmullan they are not changing grammar. Your ignorant ass just hasn’t looked up the definition.
@snowboarder720 clearly you're one of "them" 🤣🤣🤣 ... n you're the ignorant ass... dont be mad bc I don't subscribe to this new group of people who don't know themselves.
My pronouns are he/him, thanks for your concern 😁 You don’t need to ‘subscribe’. Just know the definition of a word before you use it or you’ll make yourself look stupid.
Thanks @snowboarder720.. im so glad you educated me..
This whole thing is ridiculous. I won’t even vote, but will call this insanity and degeneracy out. ”Nonbinary”, ”preferred pronoun” right... Yeah no. This category of people, the ones who believe in and accept this shit, need psychiatric help - not platforms to preach their delusions and try to force the rest of the, more sane, population to get on board with it.
You have to vote!
Imagine when you find out about languages that don't have pronouns and you'd just be considered "it" like everything else. People that are upset my pronouns are the people with very little global intelligence
@raspberrychill
Or maybe you are just dsicriminating towards germanic languages that have gendered words.
The most popular Germanic language does not have gendered words outside of pronouns. 3 dialects of old North Germanic don't have gendered words that match up to the standards of other related languages. A dialect of West Germanic doesn't have gendered words. You need to learn a lot more about language before you try to group them all together
@anonymous sounds like you’re speaking of ignorance because you refuse to see it the other way around. Is this toxic thinking is why the suicide rates are so high. Very inconsiderate.
I'm non-binary and I go by they/them pronouns. I don't expect most idiots on this site to respect that, but pronouns aren't a huge deal to me anyway, so I don't care.
You are not non-binary it simply does not exist in mammals
No u are trying to make mental illness normal.
@friendzoned4life Trump said coronavirus was a hoax. Then he said ingesting disinfectant could cure it. Then he caught covid and had to be airlifted to the hospital. Then he lost an election he says he won. Then he incited an insurrection. Now a bunch of wackos who believe in baby eaters are looking for bamboo in an "audit" in a place called Crazy Times Carnival. Now THAT'S mental illness. :)
Corona virus as pandemic is an hoax.
This is ridiculous. I am very open minded, but they are taking this way too far. I am not going to introduce myself by stating my prefered pronouns. I am fine with trans people who choose to change their gender. I have transgender friends who are MTF. They identify as a woman and don't announce stupid prefered pronouns to everybody. If you look like the gender you decided to be, everyone will know what pronouns to use.
I am in Japan and the Japanese language has gender-neutral pronouns, and English does not, so that makes things a little easier talking to gender fluid people. As far as crossdressers go, for example a man dressed up as a women, if I spoke to this person, I would address "her" as I would a woman, because that is the role this person is in at the moment. I have never had a crossdresser get offended at this. The ones I have met appreciate the respect. I have not yet met anyone who started a conversation by announcing their prefered pronouns yet. I don't plan to start walking up to strangers and saying, "My name is Emii and my prefered pronouns are she/her!" Japan has not been converted into the "woke" movement, and it is unlikely to ever happen. Still, I think we are far more accepting to the LGBTQ community than any western country.
Okay Im going to throw a wench in the works right now.
I was born a man, Im going to stay a man and I am a crossdresser.
This LGBTQ shit is way the F*ck out of control. I freaking hate that wannabe Nazi group.
You wanna be Gay, Bi or what ever you want to be. That great more power to you. You just dont need some freaking hate group to lead the world into a Marxist goverment. BLM is other such group
You I respect, the LGBTQ+temperthrowing community I do not
I dont care what pronouns people want to be called, but dont get pissy if i dont know your preferred pronoun & use one you dont want. Correct me politely & i won't make the mistake again, but turn into an asshole & i'll call you more than just the wrong pronoun...
With her history of mental issues it isn't surprising she's now unto this. But it's sad nonetheless, I wish her all recovery.
@Inbox They all are. That's the very nature of basing your life on media fame, desperation to remain relevant.
Far as I am concerned, I have freedom of speech and I can call people what I deem, NOT what they want. As I am old school, I will refer to them by their birth gender... however if someone gets angry for me referring to them by their birth gender. I have no issues with calling them "IT and that."
Anyone who is trying to control what others around them say, is going to be in for a long stressful life.
He/him. I have the benefit of never having been mistaken for the wrong gender, which is nice. It happened to my sister a couple times when she got a short haircut and she knew it wasn't intentional but still made her feel awful. Can't imagine telling people so they don't accidentally get it wrong and then they purposely call you the wrong thing anyways. Thats just fucking disrespectful. That's middleschool bully level shit.
Demi la’TwatHoe is a Girl. SHE can claim to be whatever SHE wants... but I do not adhere to mental delusion and will NEVER call someone a made up “pronoun”
This asshat just wants to have a reason to claim victimhood when people accidentally call HER a she in interviews.
Pretty sure it isn't made up. You may not like it, but you know... English is just one of those funny languages where a word like they has always been a pronoun.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/they
@Ez-Bri-Z Just because a word gets injected into the dictionary doesn’t make it a valid “gender”
All it takes for a word to be introduced into the dictionary is for it to be used in two separate written documents.
@Ez-Bri-Z People who claim they are weird pronouns are mentally ill. That is all it is.
You... you do realize this word has been around for a VERY long time. Not just when it comes to describing non binary folks, right?
Like you genuinely understand that, yes?
They has always been a pronoun to describe people or a person. I gave an example of it earlier in another reply. Here is one that not only uses it in the singular but also refers to someone where the gender isn't known.
The new kid is transferring here from another country, but I have no idea which one they are from.
I think throwing the word mentally ill around like that is detrimental to those who actually do suffer from an illness.
@Ez-Bri-Z Exactly... “THEY” is a word used to describe PEOPLE as a group or an individual in a sentence. It is not a “pronoun” in the terms of male/female.
It is something mentally ill people claim they want to be called instead of he/she because they adhere to some insane ideological fad.
@Ez-Bri-Z ANYONE who says “Excuse me, I am not a she, I am a they” needs mental help.
It's appropriate in Demi's case because they don't identify as male or female. That's why they chose to use it.
I know for people who don't experience it, that is a hard concept to understand. People tend to see in binary (you are male/you are female) but it is so much more complicated than that.
I dont think they are looking for your approval or to fully understand. I think the intent is express how they feel, let others who have shared experiences find someone to look up to and have their own role models and just try to live their best lives without people being degrading to them.
@Ez-Bri-Z SHE doesn’t get to choose what society calls HER. She has female chromosomes, she is female.
She can “identify” as a carrot, that doesn’t mean society should start calling her a carrot.
And it’s only when we use off the wall terms like that where you see the insanity of the claim.
These people don’t have to want approval, but they (<— see a proper use of the word) also shouldn’t expect adherence.
“I identify as a 15 year old girl... so now you need to let me shower in the girls locker room and have sleep overs with 15 year old girls... or you are being sexist and ageist.”
see how insane that idea is? It isn’t a “hard concept” to understand... It’s simply insane.
@Ez-Bri-Z I mean I just “want to live my best life as a 15 year old lesbian female”
It's not insane. Your hatred of it is insane to me. Transgendered individuals can't help the way they were born. They are doing their absolute best just to try and fix it so their outside matches who they identify with on the inside.
You are the one turning it into some sort of sexual deviance. Maybe that's what you might do if given the opportunity, but a majority of transgender individuals just want to live quiet normal lives in the gender that is right for them.
@Ez-Bri-Z It’s not hate to point out basic logic.
You simply want to shame me for pointing it out.
The idea that people want to claim to be other things is a schizophrenic personality disorder and gender dysphoria is a mental illness.
These people need HELP not someone like you telling them that the voices in their head are perfectly normal.
@Ez-Bri-Z I was using an extreme example to prove a point, don’t fucking try and shame me with your bullshit tactics.
@Ez-Bri-Z Oh I am sorry that using proper speech in regards to those with mental illness and using the actual biological term for people and refusing to use made up terms is considered “rage”
I said “fucking” once. What you are doing is an attempt at a common silencing tactic. It will not work.
No one said you can’t do what you want.
But don’t expect logical sane society to bow to mental illness like its normal.
@Ez-Bri-Z If you believe in made up things like they are real... then you are not sane or logical.
I have empathy and compassion as well, but that doesn’t mean I simply allow people to go around demanding I believe they are made up things.
If someone comes up to me and claims to be jesus... And expects that I actually believe them or be punished... yeah compassion means nothing in that instance.
Respectfully, I disagree with your thought process and outlook on this.
I will continue to support my transgendered friends and use their requested pronouns. I will also continue to speak out against those who can't just be respectful about it. You want to say you don't agree, fine. Being insulting though just doesn't have a place in the conversation.
i'm a female and will always be a female... i don't understand this bullcrap.
i'm sorry if this insensitive, but it doesn't make sense. like another comment said, they is a plural pronoun. it just doesn't make sense to use it for one person! i hope this trend doesn't stick around for too long.
"You" is a plural pronoun too. English really isn't that hard, I don't know why none of you understand it. Lol
@raspberrychill ahhh only when referring to multiple people... you are responding like this on multiple comments to this post and clearly you aren't aware of when you is plural. It's only plural when referring to more than 1 person. Ex: each one of you need to pick up a book on grammar and educate yourselves.
Get it? You is not plural when referencing oneself. Please stop using this as a reason for people to go about saying they are more than one person! Sorry, them and they will remain plural and people need to get over thus whole , "I don't want to specified as a certain gender"
Sorry but they can also be singular. Always has been.
www.merriam-webster.com/.../singular-nonbinary-they
@Ez-Bri-Z no one says "my pronoun is -you-" lol
@raspberrychill no one says "my pronoun is -you-" lol
It is simple
Have a penis your pronouns are he/him
Have a vagina your pronouns are she her
Have both pick the one u want to be cause then biology made it yours to pick in any other case you stick with the normal stuff
They/them is refering to groups
Nah that would be incorrect grammar.
Nope my English teachers would have giving me an F if i would say or write it like that in that sentence its gonna be he/she
Okay, how many of you guys voted A because of the picture? lol
I am definitely a “He/Him”, proud of my male gender searching for a definite “She/Her” to marry.
“They/Them” refers to a group of people, and I want to be known as an individual.
“It/That” is used to refer to things as either not alive or simply not human, and I definitely do not want to be known as either.
It such a dumb conversation. We have names for personal identification. We are not going to overhaul the whole language because some fat rich girl thinks she's entitled. This woke bullshit is the biggest turn off of them all.
First time I've ever heard the name of this oh so famous person. And yes, I do have "the internet". And I don't give a shit about her pronouns. You're not normalizing nonbinary genders and such, you're making it into a bigger deal than most àe comfortable with (mainly those who need different prononus but are not attention whores).
She/her. Two things:
1. I'm really not a fan of this nonbinary nonsense. It's demeaning to actual gender dysphoria sufferers,
2. It would be very good if you used a less sexualised image above the option she/her.
I'd go with the way Nomad calls people: Unit
NOMAD: That unit is defective. Its thinking is chaotic. Absorbing it unsettled me.
SPOCK: That unit is a woman.
NOMAD: A mass of conflicting impulses.
So, I'd say "The Demi Lovato unit is incapable of determining what gender it is. That unit is defective."
Why the downvote?
Look, I am fine with the LGBTQ+ crowd and want to give them their rights, but I have no interest in having the language hijacked to accommodate them. I will appease their sensitivities a bit, but I will not redefine pronouns for them. Get your own fucking new pronouns and make them up if you have to.
Calm down dude. You are making everybody nervous.
I am fine. I listen to yoga music.
For example:
https://youtu.be/kB_iqignn_8
I see another downvote. I don't mind, but when you get older, you will know exactly what I am talking about... and then feel the same way.
Anyway, I refuse to use they in the singular for a specific known person. That's wrong English. Thus, I will go with "unit". I noticed that Lovato's Wikipedia page as a spurious "they" or "them", but the article goes out of its way to avoid using pronouns and just says Lovato which is fine by me and perhaps should be used.
I never think about gender pronouns, because my native language doesn't use any gendered pronouns. People can use which ever they want, I don't really care that much.
Marster is my pronoun. You best not disrespect how I choose to self-identify.
Otherwise, I'll have you in discrimination court.
I identify as Michael Jackson, my pronouns are he/he
Thank you for asking
Fame makes people full of shit, they will say or do anything to get attention.
Suddenly all the celebrities are non binary, huh weird 👀👀👀👀
Very
I have never heard of this bitch but she can fuck off as far as I am concerned. You are either male, or female, if you think you are something else you belong in an asylum.
Only four options! I won't be pigeonholed into some predetermined social construct that doesn't capture my oh-so unique personality.
My pronouns are: Jesus/Your Majesty.
I respect diversity but this is becoming very confusing. I genuinely have concern about what I’m going to teach my kids in the future at this point.
Thank you!
I try to carry the same philosophy with my kids. I will answer questions the best way I know how with a bit of my experiences, a bit of their take on it and a bit of what we can find in research on the topic and then I just let them make their own decisions. I dont always agree, but as long as they are trying to be inclusive in some way then I am happy.
Weirdly enough I don’t mind being called any pronoun besides “it/that” and “they/them,” but I still identify as a woman. It’s not grammatically correct to refer to a single person as “they/them” or “it/that.”
Him or he only because iam a guy but I have no problem with people who want to call themselves what they want to call themselves it's not my place to judge people I just want everyone to live a happy life
This is going way too far. Why should I have to say “My pronouns are she/her” to even begin a conversation with someone? This world is getting absurd.
This whole thing must be some next level trolling. Someone tells them to do that 100% to see if people are dumb enough to buy that and jump into the bandwagon.
Demi Levato?
You really mean Demi "failed suicide twice" Levato?
Taking anything that crackpot has to say seriously, should make you question your ability to thinking at all.
So, grammatically speaking, she is more than one person? Or does she have a split personality ( again, grammatically speaking)?
I don't get into the whole pronouns thing. Doesn't make sense to me.
So people just point at you?
People use my name.
They never refer to you by a pronoun?
She. I mean them/they. That's what I don't get. But I'm sure you knew that.
Leader/benevolent dictator
Lizard man/reptilian overlord
My blood type is AB+. As far as I know that is 'born male, karyotype (chromosomal gender) male, anatomically male'.
I have a female profile here on GaG because I wanted some understanding, not just argument over 'whose dick is longer'.
The pronouns to use when I speak or write I decide not Demi Lovato, according to a schizophrenic disorder that now seems generalized.
If Demi lovato wants to be neither a she as her chromosiomes have defined, she will be an it for me.
Very simple. One person is a singular noun and does not take a plural pronoun. "It" would be a singular pronoun, appropriate for those who can't decide what they are.
As for me, I'm a "he". I, at least, know what I am.
Why do people make this their personality..
I really don't care, whatever they want to call me
Born male , look like a male , act like a male , walk like a male... identify as a Bobcat.
Anyone who wants special pronounces must adress me as overlord. If they want me to respect their delusions, i deserve the same :)
Who the fuck cares.
Got the voice of Angel and that's all we want. Quit fussing over her identity already. It's not like she's gonna date either of us ever.
Why wouldn't she. Relatability ups the popularity bar. She wants more fans
I use she her but I might prefer any pronouns. I'm not sure cuz I'm not out to anybody to try it out.
I was not expecting that but ok. Don't get me wrong I love and support Demi so of she is happy that's good :)
The one that goes with semantics and logic. I'm a man, thus he.
I'm a man, that's not a preferred pronoun, it's what you refer to me as when calling me by my gender or I'll get a pillowcase and fill it... full of bars of soap and beat the shit outta you😈😂
I think there should only be male/female/they pronouns. This generation are fucked. Its causing too much mental health issues by having so many genders and pronouns
Do what you want but this chick needs professional help and to stay out of spotlight.
Im a woman and i know that in my heart and have the body of one but whatever floats her boat.
I'm going with He/her/theirs.
When I'm the subject, I identify as male. When I'm in the third person or the object I identify as female. And when using the possessive, I'm non-binary. Anyone who fucks that up is a neo-nazi bigot!
I'm honestly not picky about pronouns as long as you're not using them vindictively.
The pronouns for myself are: '' I / me '' :)
If others try to re-invent language, this does neither affect me, nor myself.
I'm a man, I am a male, so He/Him. I'm not trying to complicate my life or anyone else's over something so small.
Chances are I will never speak to Demi Lovato so I won’t have to remember what pronouns Demi Lovato is using at that point in time.
The question is asking what your preferred pronouns are for yourself. Not for her.
You just misgendered them. You called Demi “her”. 😱
I will need to cool down from my rage before answering your question now.
My apologies to Demi. I hope they don't see this. :(
I am a monster.
😂 It’s all right. I checked her Twitter. She didn’t mention you or me so you’re in the clear.
Um SHE like every other traditional girl out there..
Celebrities always doing more shit to enhance their status and get more followers. I doubt they actually care.
i voted for that slug and i didn't read the question fully sorry
Would you like to choose a different pronoun for yourself? Post it here!
This is obscene to take people seriously who do this.
I don’t really care, the world has bigger issues then caring about some Disney person
