Its not illegal the way they set it up. They do ranges so as long as I'm in that range then its considered equal even if he is making a few dollars more an hour than I was.
It wasn't to pay me less but I find it sort of unfair that I had to train this guy (and don't get me wrong he was good but he only stayed for like 9 months) and he comes in making significantly more than me for the same role.

But she wasn't willing to speak up so her company just assumed she was happy making less. She wasn't willing to look for another job that would pay more, look for a raise and do less. She gets passed up for promotions over and over again even though she handles 2 people's work loads. In a fair world she would get paid what she's worth but she was always too timid and doesn't know to look after herself at work.
Yes I did. My boss said it was his prior experience which he admittedly did have experience using the system but not in the way it was set up for us and as I said, he left within a year. In the end, I had more experience and I stuck around for years because I was loyal.
@ragooo8 basically the same for me. I stayed loyal to my boss for nearly a decade plus I really did love the job itself. The few times I did say I was going to go, they invented a new title that didn't exist on the team and promoted me to it just to keep me on board so I knew the needed me. It also indirectly led to me getting my role on a new team when my boss left and his boss got fired leaving us without direct supervision.
My current boss is amazing and has been working with me to get my title and pay to scale where it should be, but its amazing to see how much I was being loyal to cheapskates at the time.
No, if you must know because you seem obsessed with this, he wanted him for a future project that never happened and was afraid he would go somewhere else if he didn't give him more money. It was a future investment that didn't pan out for them.
As for the guy himself, he is a great guy and did end up going to a 6 figure job but what I do is nothing like what his experience was. His experience was with back end programming with the system we were using while mine were front end user interface and customer interaction (which he didn't have).
So no, his experience was useless for our role. He was brought into my role to learn with the intent to try and pay an engineer about 60k to do engineering work in the future in a role that has nothing to do with it. It was a stupid plan. There was no way he was going to stay for that little and it made me feel like all my contributions were for nothing because I got paid less doing the same job as this guy had to learn. They would have had to change his title to an engineer for him to even be able to get access to do those projects anyway so it was pointless.
They also brought in another guy who they paid more and said it was his computer programming experience.
Dude didn't even know how to use Excel and his "experience" was those old punch cards computers used.
They just kept bringing in guys and using the experience line.

It is true though that women were not allowed to or could afford to have an education here in this country at one point. That's undeniable. Without women standing up to fight for our rights myself and the opinion owner would be married off and she would most likely have already been pregnant at 13 because frankly that's the kind of world this used to be.
Thankfully we have moved on past that here, but it hasn't moved past that everywhere and thats why feminism and equal rights are important to have and fight for.

Yeah it isn't currently a thing BECAUSE the women of the past stood up for their rights. We still have differences in treatment that we deal with but without those early women we'd still be dealing with that junk like I mentioned.

It occurred to me that you disagree and that's because of a fragile ego. The group itself isn't a hate group. Hell it isn't even officially a "group". There are people who have their own idea of what equality should look like. Some like myself aren't looking to subjugate men and actually want real equality. Some want to be in control. That isn't feminism in the typical sense. That's radicalism.

Look at the LGBTQ+ community, or any of the Sexual rights type groups Many would be offended if you would suggest that Female and Male sexuality are different. They would be offended if you stated the fact that Females make up the majority of the LGBTQ+ community That Bisexual Women make up the largest segment of the community That Female sexuality is inherently more fluid.
Even suggesting there is a "female sexuality" or a "male sexuality" to many of them is extreme prejudiced.
It gets so bad that even well known figures in the community (like Scarcella) are pushed away because they are not considered truly "part" of it anymore due to their own perspectives in her case, she wasn't comfortable dating trans women, because she prefers female anatomy. So what?
Preferences only matter so far to them these days and I am willing to bet many LGBTQ+ individuals dont even support the movement anymore.
Then when we look at Feminism it just gets worse. Much of it is centered around hatred towards men. There constant arguments of "pay gap" differences, which we now know is a false concept. Women in this movement was to be recognized as a different, but at the same time don't want to be viewed as different. They want equality, but don't want consequence They don't truly believe in equal pay, but want free things offered to them They make men the center of every single problem They think they have the right to abuse others, because they can use the "I am a woman" card They want so many different contradictory things.. that there is no way of actually pleasing the movement the list is once again endless and I doubt I've covered the worst things
But luckily I believe MOST women today disagree with the current movement.

The male juniors national team beating the adult Women's National is one thing. We say "In football, everything is possible".
Now, the USA female National football (or soccer, if you will), which won multiple competitions, received way less and had way less benefits than the male team, which have yet to reach a quarter final, let alone win something.
Now 15 year olds getting the same payment and benefits as World-Cup Winning adults? It's not the same thing at all.
How does that work? Because I saw major teams lose to younger teams and that never entitled the latter to higher pay.
And I never ever heard a junior say he should receive the same as a main squad player.

US men's soccer squanders everything every World Cup, most of the time they are mediocre, and they have never won one. The women have regularly winning the cup and generate more revenue than men.
There are more women's soccer programs at universities than men because of Title IX, so there is more talent being recruited and grown, keeping the sport competitive.
Agreed but that's not equal pay. Also the prize money for winning the women's World Cup is $3 million vs $40 million. The men bring in similar revenue from games as the women, more than the women in 2018 less in 2017. The differences are like 1 or 2 million less or more. Any Male US soccer player that's any good gets recruited at 16 for a European club rather than go to college. I'm not sure any other national team get paid anything espicially the Europeans. The US Women's and men's National soccer team are earning $100,000 a year yet that's not far off the average per week a soccer player makes in the top leagues in Europe. That's the real difference between revenue.
When I first heard Biden state that it wasn't equal, and then the later court ruling that it was, I thought the same thing. They get more than the men's, what are they complaining about? they choose a different layout and setup to get their pay.
Couple things here... 1. I don't know enough about this story specifically to talk about it. The team might have no reason to complain and so they need to just shut up. 2. They might have some reason for it. Specially since the women's soccer team has much more world recognition than the men's team. No really no one is afraid of the men's team, but the women are some of the best in the world. Maybe because of that they get paid more and get more benefits. 3. Doesn't matter which it is. This is yet another post trying to say "women have want superiority not equality bla bla bla". Regardless of which is the case, many women still get paid less just for being women. As a civil engineer I know this to be true in my field and I am sure is the case in many more.
People get stuck on take home pay, they fail to consider the total cost of compensation to have an employee.
The women's total cost exceeded the men's, but their take home pay was less. This is because they choose to have more benefits that the men did not get.
As a business, total cost matters more than take home. My company gives us a statement each year showing how much it cost them to have us as employees, PTO, healthcare, etc... It is drastically higher than my base pay and they are not legally required to offer benefits. They could give us a 50% raise and drop all benefits and still save them money.
The women's team could lose all their benefits and get a raise by taking the same contract as men's.
This is why they lost in court. Total compensation matters.
The fact is, women's sports in general bring in far less viewers than men's sports... across the board. That means advertisers are have less eyes on their products, willing to spend less, etc, etc. There's a reason they get paid less and it's an economic one.
Same problem with men's G-league vs. the NBA. Most of those guys are fodder for the top 1% that secure a multi-million dollar contract.
If all this really is true then it is absolutely disgusting and the women's team should be utterly ashamed. In fact they didn't even really need some of those other perks you listed either.

The Presidency is an elected position. A candidate has to run for that office and then get elected. A lot more men have run the Presidency. Same goes for other political offices. Women ask why there haven't been any female Presidents and I'm like... um, either women didn't run or weren't elected.
And the first wave fems dropped the equality masquerade really early and today no one really seems to notice or recall. I mean, when the majority of men earned the right to vote in 1918, it came with the obligation to register with Selective Service to be eligible for the revamped draft, which put men between 18-45 on the hook to fight. In 1920, women were given the vote but their right came with no obligation at all. So, these same women who gave everyone heartburn about not having equal voting rights as the men got their vote two years later and without the obligation, and somehow men and women had an equal vote.
Now, the women knew their vote had no obligations attached and knew mens' was possible conscription. You'd think these ladies would've acknowledged that our voting rights were glaringly unequal they and obviously wasn't fair. You'd think they would've offered to perform some other obligation out of fairness. Ladies?

If the article is accurate then why did they complain. Pay should be based on revenue generated. To be really honest, watching men's soccer is way more interesting than women's soccer.
They generally make more than the men but only 1-2 million more. A lot of the men's players play in top leagues in Europe and have multiple nationalities to play for. $100,000 per year is chump change to them considering some of them back $50,000- $60,000 per week. They took USSF to the supreme Court and the supreme Court ruled they weren't being discriminated against based on gender because they have a better deal than the men, the USSF offered them the same deal as the men fearing the men could take them to court for equal pay and they rejected it as a joke. They just wanted more money not equal pay.
I think people should get equal pay for equal performance. Therefore, the women’s soccer teams should be paid in proportion to the percentage of revenue generated by men’s soccer teams. If they’re just as good or better, they would take this deal. The fact that we know they would never accept it is telling.

I can literally beat the whole women's team of any country and I haven't played it for 6 years. These tests never deserved to be playing in the first place, there's nothing entertaining about seeing female "athletes".
It's unbelievable? Are you really telling me they get equal pay? Who pays for that? Owners and businessmen who are being charitable? It ain't the fans, or real world revenue. Let's get them WNBA players equal pay too, said no one.

Yeah. It still is. Why? Because most times the women who are credited and compensated for "working really hard" are actually the ones who do the least work. I have seen this time and again on different jobs over the years. In one job we had a girl on our team who did almost the bare minimum, and she was actually getting paid MORE than the rest of us. She and our manager - who was also a woman - thought we didn't know it, but we all did.
That's exactly the point. What the boss "thinks" usually ain't shit. Same with this national team. Their "bosses" awarded them with what they "think" is right or fair. What they think and what is are two different things.

This led to the men realizing they had a contract that underpaid them because they would be able to make more money with the contract given to the women's team.
