Do people not understand that the U. S women soccer team will never get equal pay with the men because they are paid on commission?

All sports teams are paid on commissions. Is baseball who ever plays for the seattle Mariners are not going to get paid as much as the New York Yankees. Why because the New York Yankees bring is a lot more revenue then the seattle mariners.

the same goes for women’s soccer vs men’s soccer. Here’s the thing no one care about women’s soccer in the United States we Barely care about the men’s soccer team Americans aren’t really fans of soccer. So when you have a team playing a sport Americans don’t really care about and there women that aren’t in Bikinis there going to get paid a lot less then a sport we care about a little bit more when men play it but we really don’t care about soccer in the first place. So the very idea that the women teams is going to get paid as much as the men because they don’t bring the audience the men do nor do they sell tickets or products the way men do. by the way if women did bring in more revenue then then the men then the women would get paid more, This is called commotion pay not a salary pay.

I think what´s hard for people is the attention part of it. Because that part seems from a third person like a question of what comes first the chicken or the egg. Because though it´s obvious that men´s football/soccer gets more attention one might argue that´s because it´s showed on television and marketing if players didn´t get a platform through media no one would actually care.

So if one invests the same amount in the woman´s game it would get a lot of more attention as well. There´s been in a case in Germany where nearly 40.000 people came to a woman´s league game. So the argument is what comes the first the investment or the interest of people. That questions isn´t that easy to answer since in the man´s game there are quite a few clubs that tried to buy success and interest with financial investments.

I think what´s rather the problem. That many people who argue in favor of woman being equally paid actually never go to a football/soccer game. They enter the discussion purely from a stand point of "fighting" for equality not because they actually care about the game.

From my point I understand people that argue women should get more and I would yes to that because in many cases pro women players need to work a second job because they wouldn´t get along alone from playing football but nevertheless the quality of their game is different. I wouldn´t call it better or worse since due to biological differences I think it´s compare but in broad ways it´s slower and the competition isn´t that narrow as in man´s game.

actually female soccer players are already paid way more than men if you look at the percentage of the profit their league generates they are paid.

like the average female soccer league team LOSES roughly 4 millions a year. they don't even make profit. and the average female soccer league player is paid 54k. if women wanted equal pay to men, they would actually have to GIVE money to the NWSL to keep that league profitable.

meanwhile yes the men get an insane average ammount of 540k (so ten fold that of women) but the major league soccer (male sport) generates 210 milllions a year of profit despite these salaries (which are deducted from the profit anyway)...

so much for "equal pay for equal work". you generate 4 millions of deficite and you still expect to get paid as men. get real.

It's not about equal pay, they just want more money. They are using the equal thing as a cash grab. Truth is they were being paid more than the men. Now they get half what the men's team brings in and the men get half what the women's team bring in but they get health insurance, healthcare, maternity and sick pay whereas the men do not.

The women's team elected to work on a salaried basis, with benefits and job security. The men's team, as you said, works solely on the basis of commission. My understanding is that the women actually get paid better when you factor in everything in their benefits package.

Ultimately they are unqual differences between men and women naturally. But those inequities are good. Like naturally men are physically stronger than women. Men naturally have a desire to protect women. It’s unequal that nature.

When we’re talking under the law yes everyone should be equal. In non-commission base jobs where your livelihood isn’t based on the amount of revenue that you bring in of course, men and women should get paid the same. Sports is different because of people’s natural interests in the sport. Humans in general are more likely to want to watch men play soccer than women. Because men are physically stronger than women. Doesn’t mean they can’t play soccer and get paid for it they just have to understand because they don’t bring in the revenue like men do they’re not going to get paid equally.
