Sure do. It just so happens that it was around Valentine's day, 14 years ago, that my girlfriend and I met. It was around that same time, two years later, that we moved in together - and lived happily ever after.
My girlfriend - and the three little gifts she gave me who call me Daddy - is the center of my universe and I don't even want to think of my life without her. (We, somewhat to our own surprise as we are actually otherwise rather traditional, were turned off by the idea of being married.) So we make Valentine's Day special.
Typically, for the family part, we have a dinner with the kids, putting a card at each of their place settings with a box of candy or a plush toy. I get my girlfriend flowers and a card and she - in what has become something of a half-joke/half-tradition - gets me a card and sexy underwear.
Then the next day we take the kids to Bumpa and Munga's (Grandma and Grandpa's) house for a long weekend. Then we go for a long weekend - (Friday, Sat. Sun. Monday) - either to the Hotel Washington (we live in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington DC) or to a little B&B we found on the Chesapeake Bay and spend the whole weekend. (This year it is the Chesapeake.)
If we do DC, it is a play at the Kennedy Center, candlelit dinners with me in coat and tie and girlfriend in a beautiful dress, breakfasts in bed, dancing and - oh yeah - plenty of cuddling and sex. If the Chesapeake, it is walks around the little town - St. Michael's - and on the bay and maybe drives to other little towns. Little antique shops - girlfriend is a collector and likes interior decoration as a hobby. It is a little more informal, but candlelit dinners and - oh yeah - lots of sex.
This year it is off to the Chesapeake. "Bumpa" and "Munga" (my gfd's parents, a. k. a Grandpa and Grandma) will pick the kids up tomorrow morning. Then my girlfriend and I will be off to the Bay - back on Monday night. Just the two of us. Little shops for my girlfriend and I to peruse hand in hand and - if the weather holds - walks by the water and tours of quaint little towns. Oh, and yes, romantic dinners and lots of time in bed doing... well... you know.
It is always an incredible weekend and we are really looking forward to it. Though the funny part is that we invariably end up talking about the kids a lot of the time. It is funny - we look forward to the time away, but we love our children and sort of miss them. I am, especially, the most besotted milksop of a Daddy you will ever meet. I work in politics but my most prized job title is "Family Tickle Monster."
Any holiday is just a day unless you invest meaning in it. It has just become the fashion that Valentine's Day is out of fashion. Unless you have, as I am so lucky to have, someone who makes it fashionable by giving it meaning. For me, it will always mean the time when I met the woman who changed my life for the better - and when I wake up next to her and feel her warm skin against mine as she sleeps peacefully in my arms, I know what meaning Valentine's Day will have for me.
dinner out. I sent her flowers recently to lift her up and really works.
I hope your honey is pleased, she's lucky woman.
Thank you, sir. I hope you and your partner are doing well. Tell her I was swamped at work when she called today and I'll try to call her over the weekend.
That's so sweet! She's a very lucky lady 🙂.
We're going to the big city to for the V-weekend. If its not canceled, I'm bringing the boyfriend to a fet lounge (he has no idea!). Sunday is to recover with a walk in central park and maybe find the man a good steak.
Why did you choose to have a double date for VD? The flowers idea is great.
I'm having my engagement party on February 14th. We planned to spend the day together too.
I didn't know you were engaged. Congratulations!
My girlfriend moved here from her home for the past 20 years, and she knows almost no one except there people to whom I have introduced her. We are doubler dating with my partner/her employer, and we are just having dinner together. Afterwards, we can go our separate ways.
@Desconhecida, Congratulations in advance, May you happy and joyful event
Ah, I see! And yes, I am... tying the knot in November!
@Zygum thank you!
@Desconhecida, welcome

I am LDR with My partner. We sent Each other Gifts. It's Also 3 Years We started our Relationshipbut May3 Got IN a Relationship. xxoo
We'll probably get a dinner at Texas Roadhouse or Chili's.
We both requested the day off but we donāt know what weāre doing yet. We donāt have too much money to go all out so weāll probably end up staying at home, watching movies and getting take out
I'm married. We don't have any plans as of yet.
This will be our 4th V-Day as a married couple, but our 11th total. We certainly have the money to do something special but neither of us are really into that type of stuff.
We'll probably order slightly fancier take-out that night 😂
I really love the idea of doing homamde things, I'd be writing poems and sending him sweet little messages throughout the day telling him the many things I love about him and will try to send something that he'll love to the office.
As for me this year it's little ones birthday so got an activity and a meal booked on Sunday and will be decorating the room and doing the cake on the Monday for a little party at home.
I'll be preparing dinner for my "female friend" but I'm not getting caught up in the commercial endorsement of a dsy that has no significance, when everyday should be about showing your love and appreciation towards your partner.
My partner is working most of the day but when he gets off work during the evening weāve planned to have dinner together and spend some time together. Weāre both very introverted so going out and doing something isnāt really our style.
Nothing will happen on Valentineās Day. I will probably be working anyway.
The only females who share my bed are a cat and a dog.
At least they are loyal animals!
I have never had a partner on Valentineās Day before. Itās funny cause even with my ex we broke up for 2 weeks once and it coincided during Valentineās Day.
I will be spending it with my friend though :)
Awe I'm sorry u have never had a partner on Valentine's day I'm the same way
me and my boyfriend are going to his family's beach house on Friday and staying until Valentines Day and on our way home Monday were gunna go out to eat and maybe see a movie or something like that.
I am as single like a pole. Girls apparently do not love me for whatever reason. Too bad, they're missing out on very romantic love.
So that means I will spend valentines day watching premium videos on...

It's gonna be free for that day.
Or I could just hire a certain girl for the night so to speak.
Because my mother in law is moving out of state my wife will be helping her while I work. First Valentine's since we meet we won't be together. But then again we never really made a big deal out of the holiday either.
i dont know yet, im recently not recently married ( 6 months ago) and pregnant so i dont know how ill feel on doing much
I donāt have the success you have Iām alone as far as women go
Your time will arrive!
You look like a decent guy tho so Iām actually kinda confused
@WhiteBoyChill iām shy in real life when it comes to Pursuing women
Well youāve had girlfriends before right?
@WhiteBoyChill Yes of course
So what changed? If you succeeded once doesnāt that give you confidence going forward?
@WhiteBoyChill I have problems we had a dispute over my childhood home with my sister and itās a very long story but I guess I was burned after my last relationship
Iām not trying to hate on you. But just trying to understand the situation.
Because I havenāt even had a single girlfriend yet (unless you count a couple from online)
*A couple Iāve had*
@WhiteBoyChill never thought you were hitting on me no problem. Thatās probably because of shyness most women like to be pursued
Yes. That is correct. Its very rare for women to make the move.
But at the same time though, thereās never any harm in trying to get to know somebody, and inviting them to do something simple.
@WhiteBoyChill Right
Worst they can say is no. But I understand if maybe the time to start dating doesnāt feel right.
@WhiteBoyChill cOVID-19 I donāt like it and I just got over it recently I donāt wanna go out there and start getting sick once again
I have a partner and we both are in same city but we have our final exams going on 😭😭😭 (short sad story)
No solid plans
If I feel energetic we may go out
Lol I almost had drama on valentines day this year lmao. Dodged a bullet.
Wow.. so many single people. Just goes to show how challenging relationships are these days 😞
I think it shows that this site attracts many people who are awkward and inept at relationships.
Alas I will spend Valentine's Day missing her terribly.
I might go flying. I dunno.
I donāt have plans. Iām single. But St Augustine is a nice city
What Iām trying to say is, thatās a very clever idea and itās a perfect option for a date.
But Iād suggest just an evening stroll down the old street as well. Itās really nice
Oh, yes, if the weather is good, we'll stroll down St. George Street after dinner.
Sounds great!
Yeah I have huge plans for my partner and that is to bring her bouquet of pink rose's and small surprise box with the words marry me if I ever find witch I hope I did
So far i dont have plans , but im sure my husband and i will just be ordering out and relaxing at home , im not ready or comfortable leaving my baby yet ,
I never had a chance to send flowers to a girl for Valentines Day but would love to
I booked for us to go on holiday (as well as flowers and a large teddy bear being sent to our room on the day) I already contacted where she works and arranged it. She knows nothing about it. I will tell her the day before so she has time to pack!
By partner, if you mean video games or college assignments then yep.
I want to send Valantine day greetings cards to GirlsaskGuys users but I don't have their email addresses,
He's currently sick so I hope he gets better by the time Valentine's come
Single this year so no plans gonna just get my nails done
Nothing. Because relationships are bullshit. Iāll be staying home taking advantage of a shit holiday by eating the candy and sweets it provides
Finally i found a beautiful woman i will ho to next week.
No partner at the moment so nothing is happening.
I expect that to be a very temporary state of affairs!
Single Pringle, I always miss valentines day
how can a beauty like you still be single :)
No, I'm visiting with my Mom.
I usually get flowers delivered to her work. My only concern this year is that she may not be needed that day.
We're going out to dinner on Monday.
I have plans but alone plans cause I'm single
i will do something like take her out to supper? after sunset
I'd be buying me some candies
We dont do valentines
Ohhh yea we going to the spa baby!
Still single at the moment unfortunately
Yeah man. Relationships do take time
@WhiteBoyChill Yeah itās hard finding one
No. We are not doing anything
No plans on that day for 26 years now
No partner. I suck!!
Just dinner and a sleepover🍆🥰🥰
Preparing dinner for him which he loves the most.
Nope I donāt even celebrate it.
No partner and no plans.
@nagahime and i are going on a romantic date
Iām single right now so no
Probably just gonna chill with @Cringe
Lol you'd be lucky if I spent my Valentine's Day with you instead of my girlfriend
brood like always.
Valentines day is for simps.
Putting down Valentine's Day is for guys who can't get a girlfriend.
