Last week my guy friend got really really drunk. I usually don't worry because he can take pretty good care of himself. I like him and have told him this but he doesn't feel the same way so we have just maintained a close friendship. We text a lot, and it has come to be a pattern for me to receive a text from him around 9:30 at night then text for an hour or so. That night I knew he would be drinking so didn't have high hopes of any intellectual conversation but just knew he would say good night, he never forgets. Then around 9 I received some very mean and rude threats. I didn't know that he could be that hurtful so told him to f*** off. the texts continued and I was threatened, told to die, and called some choice names. At that point I realized it wasn't him. I only replied to two of them but was still really hurt that he would allow someone to text me such things. am I making a big deal about nothing? From the texts his friends (which I believe to be female) clearly knew that I lived far away, wanted to be rude to me specifically and said that I wasn't good enough for him. I forgive him but wonder why they would be so rude to me when I haven't even met them! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)
