Is it wrong for two straight guys to hug each other?

I just want to know what other people feel about it. I think it is wrong on every level guys are not supposed to do that it appears gay.

Uhh.. no.. people might think its gay but unless they know for sure that the guys are gay, then they shouldnt jump to conclusions.. If your a homophobe, that's fine.. just keep it to yourself.. lol.. Example, I saw my good friend after I got back home after a year and a half of living in isolation and we hugged.. we did that thing where we give a handshake and hug with the other hand.. but yea we are not gay, so there.. crapped all over your theory.. loll.. It also has to do a lot with innocense and the culture we are talking about..

In some cultures around the world, guys hold hands with each other while walking on the streets and stuff but they are friends.. not gay guys.. They don't know what "gay" means in other places of the world and they just don't care.. they are friends and they're showing appreciation towards each other.. I say innocense because didn't we all hold hands when we were kids? I'm sure we didn't care if people thought it was gay because we have a strictly objective mind as a child because we were still innocent.. So, that's what they are in other countries because they don't watch stupid t.v. shows like in America..

In America, it seems gay because we see it everywhere and people expressing opinions about how gay = bad.. and how something is wrong with a guy hugging another guy.. you really think there's a difference between hugging your dad and another guy friend?.. why.. because he's not family?.. loll its so stupid how everything is so over-analyzed.

It's wrong because it APPEARS gay? Somehow, something that is wrong is gay? Wow, that's some kind of bigotry, isn't it? Not even touching on the subject of what appears to be reaction formation ( you know, when your strongly opposed someones position and take on the polar oposite view, To keep secret your own desires.) I thought I'd put what it meant, because I figured with small minded thinking such as yours, clearly you couldn't be THAT educated.

Besides, what's it matter what it APPEARS like? If your straight and they're straight, is someone thinking you're gay going to make you all of a sudden crave penis? If hugging a guy made you look like a tiger, do you all of a sudden grow stripes and a tail and have urge to roam the jungle all of a sudden? Rediculous lol. Clearly, on top of being a bigot, you're more insecure than a 12 year old. Which is fine, hey, I'm not the passing judgement. You are.

First of all, is it wrong for two straight girls to hug? If no, why is that different from two straight guys hugging? By YOUR logic, either situation would appear gay. Two straight women hugging, by your logic, should appear gay as well, right? Women aren't exempt from homosexuality, after all. But I'm willing to bet that you don't see the two situations in the same light. I'm also willing to bet that you care way too much what other people think of you.

Second, does it matter if two guys or two girls hugging are straight? If they're straight, then they're two STRAIGHT people of the same sex hugging. Gayness doesn't factor into two -straight- people hugging. They're straight.

Third, there is nothing wrong with being gay, if that were even relevant to two -straight- guys hugging, which it's not. And there's nothing wrong with two guys or two girls or a guy and a girl hugging, gay or straight or anywhere in between. One doesn't have to be gay to want to hug someone of their same sex. Affectionate people generally hug their friends; gay, straight, guy, girl. Thinking anything involving two guys [hugging, hanging out together, being best friends, etc etc] is gay suggests that the thinker isn't super secure in their own sexuality/masculinity. Is a guy hugging his son gay too?

No no no no. I think it's extremely cute and I'd admire those guys for courage! I mean, I kiss my girlfriends without any sexual undertone, I hug them, I kiss them on the cheek and nobody gives us any strange looks, so why would it be so wrong for guys? Equality of rights goes in both directions. We're in 21 century, for heaven's sake! Why do guys think showing any emotions emasculate them? It's time step out of your caves... It's normal.

PS. Why are you constantly asking "why?" and "what?" if girl's agreeing it's normal? You asked a question, we answer;]

If girls can hug each other and not seem like lesbians, then obviously guys can hug each other too. And if you are afraid that people think you are weak cause you are showing your emotions by hugging and looking "gay", well you are not a real man cause a real man has feelings. But that's just my opinion.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with two humans expressing a mutual friendship and even love for one another through a hug, be they male, female, or any mix of the two. Don't like it, don't take part in it, but leave others be.

no its not gay. my boyfriend of 9yrs has a group of friends he's grown up with and they hug all the time. they even say they love eachother. they are always there for one another. I think its cool to have such good friends, its like family.

as long as your hands don't go too low and there is some reason to hug then there is nothing gay about it.  Just because ur hetero doesn't mean you are forbidden from contact with other guys.
