I think he likes me but he has a girlfriend!

I'm in a similar situation, only from the guy's POV.

I've been with my girlfriend for 8 months, but I'm not happy. Why? Because she's dishonest and manipulative. She's the type of girl who tries to be the perfect girlfriend, pretends to love sex, pretends to love the guy, while sliding in innuendos and "hints" about marriage, while trying to get close with the guy's friends and family, and become so intertwined in his life; that marriage is but a formality.

A big part of me wants to just be dispassionate and dump her, strait up, cold and heartless. But an other part of me, is human. That although her being dumped is inevitable, it should be done with some kind of transition; so it's emotionally easier on her.

But what happens when (the guy) is "technically" in a relationship with someone else, but not really? What happens when he's within those 3-4 months of slowly creating emotional distance and breaking off those intimate bonds with his girlfriend so he can more smoothly transition into a break-up?

To him, he's not really seeing anyone else. I have a girl in my class who looks at me constantly and lets me know that she's interested with her eyes. But at the same time, she knows I have a girlfriend. And I (the guy) find myself in a tough situation. It feels awkward.

It's more awkward being the guy with the girlfriend talking to an other girl, than it is to be the other girl talking to the guy with a girlfriend (of which he's communicated he's not happy with).

Unfortunately, after 3-4 months, when I'm single; me and this girl will just be friends. And that's the same situation you're going to find yourself in too if you expect him to do anything more. He's already done more than enough.

If you're interested in him, now it's your turn to communicate that to him.

Sounds just like a married man flirting with a single woman. Watch out, he may just be handing you a line..just looking for a quick affair with no strings. Unless that's what you want!
