Why would a guy stare but not smile and walk past you whenever he can?

Question

The first time we made eye contact, I looked up and he was staring at me. He kept staring without a smile and finally I looked away (this was for like 3-4 secs). I tried to go up to him after class to ask him about it but he avoided me. I once asked him a question in class, he gave me a one word answer, wasn't smiling or anything?

Now when the teacher hands back stuff, he will wait at the front of the class to pass me whenever he can. I pretend that I don't see him because the first time it was too awkward. he has never really tried close to sit with me or anything but have noticed this few times in the hallway, I have seen him waiting for a class to start and he'll just stare again (obvious stare) but still not smiling? Another time he was sitting outside staring from far away?

Does he like me, think I like him, find him weird? what should I do?

Maybe he's just trying to get your attention. It could be that he's a jerk, or immature or just mean spirited. I think you should avoid him. He seems like he's capable of harming small animals if you know what I mean. LOL maybe a little displaced anger with the need for counseling.

There are so many guys out there that will smile at you and talk to you and carry on conversations without the rudeness. I wouldn't waste my time talking about this loser. Tell that loser to KICKROCKS!

Yeah, he likes you. He's going out of his way to like hand back pieces of paper to you and smiles at you and stares at you. That's so cute! he likes you. As long as it's not an angry stare, it's all good ;*) If you like him too, maybe you guys should get to know each other ;*)

Hmm I think he likes you, but he's also very shy arounds girls he likes. like waytopopular said, try to talk to him whenever you can. Soon he'll get comfortable around you, and if you like him, maybe you should ask him out, you know make the first move for him.

Probably likes you, is just really shy. He probably knows he's been blowing it so far, so he probably does think you find him weird, so he's avoiding you out of nervousness and shyness. Gotta make it as easy as humanly possible for him to talk to you. Try to talk to him a lot. Start with hey I saw you the other day. Ask to maybe study sometime. Hand him your number if you absolutely have to.

He'll ease up once he gets comfortable with you.
