To whom would girls say hello? (Girls only)

Question

Girls, would you ever say hello to a completely random guy and if you do, why? Is it because you like him or you want to be his friend? Would if say hello if his friends are near him or if your friends are with you? I am asking this because there is this girl who who ALWAYS says hello and talks with me whenever my friends aren't with me and her friends aren't with her (if her friends are next to her, she'll start talking to them). I hardly know this girl and I'm pretty sure she doesn't know me so why would she try and talk with me? Something else I noticed was that she was smiling the entire time  when she was talking to me (then again, she smiles whenever she talks to anybody). Also this girl NEVER looks at me whenever we pass by each other in a hallway? I'll describe the girl to help you figure out why she might be doing this. She is smart and kind but isn't spontaneous or loud (she would never do anything to attart attention to herself). She is usually quiet and seems to ONLY start talks with her friends (I don't think she would start a talk with anybody who isn't her friend except me which I find weird).Also all of her friends are girls except one who is a guy. SO, why do you think she's trying to talk to me?

I myself have said hello to this guy I'm not that close with because I am interested in him and I hope to get to know him better. I never say hello to him when he is with his friends because it's intimidating to me, but I will say hey when I'm with my friends because they know about my little crush and they have an outside opinoin on his reaction/body language. This girl is definately into you. She may never look at you in the hallways because she's nervous to look you in the eye or that you might think it's weid that she's looking at you or is afraid you won't say hey back. That's what goes through my mind when I see this guy I like. Are you intersted in her? Try making an effort to say "Hey ____" when you see her in the hallways or if you see her walk by when you are with your friends so she might look up at you and say hey next time and may have the courgae to approach you when you are with friends or when she is with her friends.

she sounds shy. does she go out of her way to ditch her friends to talk to you? Were you in a group with her for some project or something and you were nice to her?

I am pretty shy and like her. If it's a certain class that she talks to you in where she doesn;t have many friends than she could just be trying to pass time however it sounds like she likes you.

the only way I would go out of my way to say hi to someone is if they were nice to me in the first place, had something in common with them, otherwise I could care less. if she seems nervous around you, that's a big clue. best way is to guage how she acts around this other guy she hangs out with.

Well, it depends if you have a class or something with her, and she would know you or is friends with you, shesjust being nice

if you're pretty sure she doesn't know you, she might just want to be friends. If you wouldnt' mid being friends with her at least, just talk and see where it goes!

Probably she is interested in you. Back in high school, unattractive girls that knew my name (I didn't know their names usually). Would always walk by me and say "Hi (my name)". I would either smile as they walked by or continue walking and ignore them, didn't want to talk to them because they didn't really attract me.

If you find her attractive, next time she says hi to you introduce yourself and start talking while having a deeper conversation.

Hey, at least you don't have some girl that looks like a pig running up to you to hug you and touching you anywhere she can get her hands on, and I mean anywhere!. All I wanted to do whenever I heard or saw her was to run away but you can't do that in the middle of a class :(.
