This guy I have liked forever asked me to the dance and he said he really liked me so he asked me out. Long story short were going out. Does that mean were boyfriend and girlfriend? Do you have to actually hang out to go out even though you see this person every week day already

Depends on age and the nature of the relationship. I don't consider myself to have a boyfriend until he brings it up and wants to make that commitment to me. And I usually leave that convo up the guy. Sometimes when girls wanna do that "we need to talk" thing, they can scare guys off. With you and your scenario I would say that you guys are officially dating, not necessarily boyfriend/girlfriend.

some guys, you have to pry it out of them. ask them directly. ask them if it's official. a few dates doesn't mean necessarily that you two are girlfriend and bf. it depends on a few individuals. once you like each other enough, then you're girlfriend and bf. I usually get to know a guy first for a while before I decide whether or not, if he offers to, to go out with him.

Meh... It could easily mean you're officially dating as boyfriend and girlfriend but you'd be surprised what you can do without making it official. If you really want to know I suggest you ask for clarification. This might be something that a shy girl might have trouble doing but really it's better you find out now to avoid complications and further heartache later.

If you like him and want to go out with him, then you're "going out." The thing is you haven't actually done anything much with him to go out and do, that's all.
