There's a guy I've known for 11 years. We've never been really close, because he's two grades lower than me, but we're starting to get closer lately. And I think he could possibly be interested in me, but I don't want to look like an idiot in order to show him I feel the same way.
What kind of small and innocent (yet meaningful) things could I get him for Christmas or his birthday to show that I care?
He skateboards, plays guitar (so do I), we listen to similar music, watch a few of the same TV shows, and we're in a music class together. Hopefully this can help spark a few ideas.
Well, since he likes guitar, why not make him or design him some picks? You can go get some plain picks and decorate them with sharpies or something cool. Get some stencils and make them really nice. Or you can make them from Shrinky Dinks shrink plastic. Candy is always good. Every year I get one of the Chinese takeout gift boxes and load it with homemade cookies and if I have a crush or guy a like I put his favorite candies in it too. Umm...what else... Those are all pretty innocent... they are thoughtful without being creepy. The key is to show you were thinking about them without spending money like your trying to buy someone's affection. The one thing I would not do is make a sappy card. Like, I'll put a quirky joke on a gift tag or something but NEVER anything sappy...and I try to avoid hearts or winking smiley faces...it comes off weird in my position.
Hope this helps. And remember that handmade is like tangible love. If you make it with your hands, you already rock.
The guitar pick thing is genius! I just need to think of a cool design. I was actually thinking of making him a book of personalized guitar music paper, so he can write his own stuff, and where it says "Composer" I can type his name, and print like 30 pages to get him started. I didn't know if the binding or printing would cost a ton of money or if it would be too much. I think altogether for the binding it would be $30. What do you think? - 13 days ago

That sounds like a wonderful idea too. I just don't know how much binding would cost. I take graphics class and we're making memo pads so you could do a memo style pad of paper. It's really easy to do because you just glue the top edge, let it dry, and then you have a pad of paper where you just peel of when your done. If you don't like that you can always decorate a binder really nice, hole punch the paper, and put it in there. - 13 days ago

Oh, that's a great way to save money! Thanks! Is there a certain kind of glue that works better than others? - 13 days ago
