How do you ask a girl out at a very busy restaurant?

I can't stop thinking about this girl that works at this local eatery. I have noticed her glancing at me, and I am pretty sure she smiled at me once but I didn't notice. She seems like a really shy girl and I do not want to embarrass her at work or cause a scene. I went there once during off peak hours and asked for her but she wasn't working at the time. The girl seating people offered to tell me when she worked but I was so bummed I just asked to be seated. Anyways, I knew that I would not be able to get there in the next couple of weeks.

The real difficulty with this is usually I go there to eat with my parents since it is a family type restaurant. I know at my age(25) it wouldn't be too hip to flirt with girls with your parents there. I just don't know how to move forward with this. I mean I could try going there on off hours hoping that she is there and I can ask for her to be my waitress. I just seem to see her working when I am with my parents which is 100%(currently) of the time.

I used a tip I read about from here about writing a note backwards so it can be read in the mirror easily. I was thinking about asking another waitress to give it to her for me. It's not exactly how I want to ask her out but I don't know how else to do it. I just feel like I can't let this one get away from me. I just have such a strong feeling of I have to do this or I will regret it. Anyways, last time I went there myself I was so nervous I felt like I was going to fall down. I guess I need to grow a pair this time. LOL

I haven't even talked to her except I have given her my order on a couple of occasions. I don't know why but I am compelled to make this happen somehow. Please if anyone can help me out with this I will be in your debt.

Update: Comment wasn't long enough. I gave her the note I wrote backward with a small message. I hope she doesn't throw it away. T. T At least I can say I did something. It didn't come out the way I wanted to but I made an effort. I really hope I made her night 3 months ago

Update: I did this in front of my mother so I feel like I accomplished something. I am going to wait and see if she calls. I don't know what to say since this is my first time doing something like this. I mean usually I chat the girl up a little and gauge her. 3 months ago

Update: Well, no call. It wouldn't be a surprise if she was taken. I am still going to "game" her
if I see her again. I think even if I happen to be with family I will try but it will only involve me. 3 months ago

First of all it was dumb of you not to take that girls offer to tell you when she was working next. Real dumb. And please don't do that backwards note thing. I would read it and wonder why it was backwards lol... Awww man. I just read the update. Well I hope she calls. I don't know if I would or not. If you are cute and put on the charm I would call. Hope you got that charm

And that whole getting your mom to ask her out for you and act like you had no idea is a bad idea and i'm glad you didn't do it. It would make her feel awkward. This guy's mom did that to me once. I blushed and didn't know what to say.. Not too cool unless you guys know each other or at least have kind of a flirtation pattern. If she doesn't call then you know you f*cked up and you should have asked her out the right way. If she calls make sure you let her know that you have noticed her for some time now and are interested in taking her out sometime. Ask one of her friends at the restaurant what her favorite kind of food is and surprise her by taking her there. Or if you guys talk and she mentions someone she wants to go or wants to do but hasn't had the chance offer do it or go to the place with her. Good luck

Lots of people told me they liked the note idea. At least I put some effort into it. It's not like I took something from the table and wrote my number on it. I would of liked to do it different. There are managers always walking around, so it's tough. I am good at reading people and I am sure I cannot be wrong this time. Besides, if she doesn't call I know it is her loss, plenty of other girls would like the chance I gave her. Thanks for the comments though. - 3 months ago

Nearly every eatery has sugar packets on the table write your number down on it and next time she comes by hand it to her and tell her that she dropped it, this could also work if you just use a folded piece of paper, just be sure to pick it off of the ground after she passes. If that does not work you could always tell your mom to ask her for you after Mom causes a big scene then she almost has to say yes.

I had not thought of that before. I was thinking about having my mother ask just for giggles but I don't know how that would turn out. I think she actually suggested that to me before but I blew it off. I bet it would be funny though. I like the dropped object idea, I totally forgot about that one. I have to do this somehow. I wanted to give everyone an update. I went in there with my cologne on and looking pretty sexy. Like I said before it's a busy place and I wanted to not cause a scene. As always, when she is there so if a family member I am with. I decided to sit for awhile after we finished eating. I have never really felt like this and I almost couldn't finish my meal, I still feel like I am going to hurl while writing this now. Anyways, I caught her and told her that she dropped this(my note). - 3 months ago

Thanks for the comments. I will post an update on this. At least she smiled when I gave it to her. I don't know what I did really. It's been awhile since I have felt so strongly about a girl. I always get some kind of glance from her. Haha, since my mom was there I have her as a lookout. She looked towards our table, and I wish I could of seen her run her hand behind my seat.
