Both can be nice because I like the contrast of textures, but I like it when people do things with their hands a lot in general, whether it gives them callouses or not, though it usually does. Lotion isn't a big deal and I don't care whether someone uses it or not. I'm around a bunch of musicians a lot of the time, so most of them have calloused hands and fingers from playing guitar and whatnot. Some of them probably use lotion on occasion, but that's not really practical in their world because playing a string instrument with soft skin can hurt after a while, haha. So in that case, building up callouses on the fingers from playing, FOR playing, is a good thing. But if someone doesn't work with their hands, and has soft skin, that's cool too. I think manicures are a bit much though. I don't even get manicures. I think it's a waste of money and too fussy for my taste, haha, and my hands still look nice without them.
BASICALLY: I don't care.00 Reply

i don't like that you made it two extremes: either soft or rough, meaning if they're soft the guy has to be some girly dude who gets manicures. that's bull.
i prefer softer hands. it doesn't feel nice at all to have something rough and calloused massaging your body. do you want your girl to have calloused hands when she's giving you a massage, if say she's a gymnast and swinging on those bars all day. or maybe she happens to be carpenter, whatever.
and when the touch goes southbound that is just not a good feeling. the penis is smooth, isn't it? no one wants sandpaper down there.
for the record, my ex had rough hands but he did use lotion. calloused hands is not good for your skin. and he wasn't some girly dude nor would he ever have gotten a manicure.20 Reply
i need a guy with rough hands, it shows the kind of person he is. Hardworking, and focused. However they can't be peeling and cracked they need to be able to maintain good cleanliness.

Agreed
I have relatively calloused hands, I've never used lotion, and I didn't even know what in the hell a mani-pedi was until like two weeks ago. That being said, equating soft hands with femininity is nonsense. Next you're going to tell me the amount of grease in your hair determines how masculine you are? The amount of hair in your pits? The amount of sh*t in between your teeth? The wrinkles on your scrotum?
Hygiene is a positive thing. Wanting a healthy, clean body doesn't make you girly-man.83 Reply- +1 y
LOL that's some funny sh*t! defining how manly you are by the number of wrinkles on your scrotum?! hahaha
I like rough and chapped hands myself, big fella, and I want you to run up and down my back with your golf spikes...!

+1 yI like soft hands or just slightly rough, and nothing wrong with manicures and pedicures for men...most places offer specifically designed ones for men. My Daddy has gotten in the habit of going for them twice a year to make sure they're well taken care of and he's a 'man's man'- construction worker, former pro ice hockey player, 6'4", 250lbs.

+1 yIn between I say (: Not getting manicures and constantly putting on lotion but also not extremely dry and rough.

+1 yoh gosh no! pleae don't ever put on lotion when I'm watching. it kinda looks gay. do it at home. and manicures?! no thanks.
oh and btw I like big hands. not because they imply something, just because they make me feel safe :)02 Reply- +1 y
No, but I still don't like to see it.
its fine if you do it at home. but putting on lotion in public is like checking your hair in the mirror for hours. makes you look conceited. and conceited guys are "gay"
My boyfriend is a web designer so his hands are soft :D and I love 'em ;)
I don't know if he uses lotions.. but he was man enough to let me paint his toenails XD10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI don't mind a guy who works with his hands, like construction and stuff. But I don't want really dry and peeling skin at the same time. My bf's hands are kinda soft but a tad rough, that's fine with me. So if your hands are rough or dry just put on unscented hand lotion :) also no manicures because it's a bit werid lol
10 ReplyWorks really hard.. but, uses hand lotion and keeps his skin healthy:)

+1 yI think guys with rough hands are hot. First because, it make them seem manly and proves they work hard and can work even harder on the soft body of a girl:P I must say guys with soft hands arn't bad either, but rough hands make girls want yeah.. well at least country girls ahaha:) Good luck hope it helped.
01 ReplyI love a rough working man's hands on my body. Their rough skin against my soft skin just matches!

+1 ydoesn't really matter. I don't mind if he has soft hands or hard hands I suppose. what matters is his personality and whether or not he's ethical.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI like rough hands. My Dad worked with his hands a lot but also took care of them really well, like putting lotion on and filing his nails. Though I think going out to get a manicure is a bit much... (My Dad never did this.)
I know it's kinda weird to relate your Dad to boyfriends and stuff, but it kinda gives me a feeling of security that I always felt around him if something reminds me of him a little bit. x00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWell, there's nothing wrong with soft hands and using lotions or even getting manicures. It's nice for a change to see a guy that takes care of himself.
00 ReplyI have soft hands not baby soft but just soft. That doesn't make one less manly or less hard-working. It is really weird when women lay too much emphasis on physical attributes that are largely irrelevant.

+1 yI like a guy that does what makes him happy and doesn't do things to please other people all the time. I would say in-between. a guy that has soft hands so that when you hold it you never want to let go and a guy that does his own hobbies too. x
00 Replyi like a happy medium. not baby soft but not incredibly callused either.
