My friend is obsessed with her ex

Hey ladies and gentlemen, serious question this time. One of my best friends is completely obsessed with her ex. She is being stalker creepy. For example, using me to spy on him as he happens to be a friend of mine, going over his house, texting him etc. Now, I've told her a thousand times to give it time, I have sat up with her until all hours of the night consoling her. Today she went over his house and she didn't "get a hug", so now she is man about it. I'm basically at my wits end because I've been telling her for six plus months that he is a terrible boyfriend, he said so himself. How can I tell he to stop complaining to me without hurting her feelings? She doesn't have many friends.

Stop supporting her looniness. Really, don't let her use you as a resource to spy on her ex. As for her obsessive behavior - that's something she is going to have to work out on her own. Sounds like she's having a hard time moving past whatever went wrong with her relationship. Could it be she might need closure? Or does she somehow feel there might be a chance of a reconciliation? You might suggest that your friend, her ex, has a long heart to heart talk about her behavior.

You need to stop enabling her though - you can refuse to be a part of her stalking. Just because you're her friend doesn't mean you have to do every crazy thing she wants - regardless of how much she thinks she needs you to. Let her know you're there for her when it has nothing to do with her ex.

She doesn't have many friends. I wonder why. She has a problem and until she fixes it or you help her fix it she'll be like this.
